Wow the cinematics in this game look wild! I really didn't like boat bosses in shark games myself either; just never seen one that was fun. Glad to see CQ back in the trenches covering an underwater game again.
All the fish and animals can be interacted with. You need to upgrade your power to swim into certain areas. It's actually hilarious because you can grab onto and throw whale sharks and orcas lol.
I don't think you can interact with all of the animals. You can find blue whale which is unreachable and eat the dead carcass sure. But penguin and sperm whale? I don't think anyone has ever found it. There is a very old video on RUclips which somehow you can find sperm whale but i doubt it to be real
@@CQCorruptionQuest search "Jaws Unleashed - Whale Shark Hunting." I never watched more than 10 seconds so idk if he actually tosses them out of the water like I love to do. But it does show him eating them in the wild if I skip to around the middle. In case the video is not nice enough to show the map. Here's a small get there yourself guide. The whalesharks are found at the top most right side corner of the world map. You have to have almost max power to get there. I'd suggest, instead of grinding the game, use the blood cheat. (Enter cheat via name on new game. Name yourself blood, but with more zeroes, idk how many extra zeroes it is. But searching jaws unleashed, ps2 cheats will easily reveal it. In about 20 minutes or less I imagine you could go and get the whale sharks. This makes the tutorial and water world really fast.) Jaws unleashed is a very niche game unfortunately. But looking around at the wiki might show you more stuff than even I remember. But I I'm almost positive every single animal in the game is intractable. I even remember finding wild orcas (after water world), crocodiles and squid. Although.... I admit the squid might be an octopus or something, that one I remember less.
Then proper wording should of been licenses movie game. But yes there wasn’t a ps2 during that time. However most people will also still say games that are movie license games are also still usually a tie in game to said movie. The best explanation I could find for what I mean: Video games are occasionally based on existing franchises of other media, such as movies or comic books. By combining the two concepts, the game gets increased exposure and name recognition, and allows the user a new experience with an existing background and characters. www.giantbomb.com/tie-in/3015-653/#google_vignette Meaning it doesn’t have to be released when the source material was released. Just has to help give said source material recognition and vice versa. As usually the example for tie in stuff for movies or shows are a way for the player to experience the pre established world in a different way from said movie, book etc. Technically however your use for the idea of tie in isn’t wrong either as more often in the 70’s and 80’s usually a book was released to follow along side the movie. But I’ve noticed in present times. Movie licenses games usually just get dumped into the category of movie tie in stuff. I’ve seen a couple of other videos who only talked about movie license games and still phrased it as “movie tie ins” even when the game in question wasn’t released to coincide with the movie
A tie in game is usually associated with a game that is released as the movie is also released so people have a need to buy it to try to get a backstory on certain characters. I really wasn't trying to give any negative feedback on that .I was just making a comment on how old I feel.
@@karlsmith7371 I didn’t take it as negative. Don’t worry I usually can tell the difference between people being negative and just leaving a comment with no ill intent. Again yeah that’s the right definition it’s just it’s changed a lot and people seem to use it regarding anything that is just associated with said movie even if it didn’t launch when said thing came out. Again you have the right definition but things seem to lose the original meaning with time and this is just one of those things I’ve noticed. Also I’n about to turn 26 so I understand as I feel old as well! Hopefully though you enjoyed the video.
So apparently after looking into it. I’ve been told you can. You need to increase your speed to the max as that’s how you can get past the currents but I will say I never tested this. But yeah I loved the game as a kid as well it was fun!
No matter how much I loved Maneater and the amount of times I played it, I felt like for a megalodon that is as big as a sperm whale, the dmg and bite force in the game was kinda underwhelming. But I guess they had to balance the game somehow.
They need to remake or remaster this game. I miss playing it. In my honest opinion JAWS Unleashed is a far better shark game because the story and missions play out so much better than Maneater. I hated how in Maneater the main progress in the game was to do repetitive missions to level up and be able to destroy whatever Apex Predator boss there was. It was extremely tedious. In Jaws however the missions felt so much better because you were causing mayhem regardless if it was a mission or not. I hope they remake it or remaster the game so it looks nice but also so I can relive my childhood again. Jaws Unleashed is actually pretty darn solid and fun to play.
I wouldn’t mind if Majesco published the game and Tripwire developed the game and just polished the gameplay mechanics and have no freeze-ups, glitches, and bugs in the game. Even add more side missions and a level select and not use a cheat code to select a stage. More films clips from Jaws 2, 3D, and The Revenge should be in the extras menu. Tripwire can even make this an expansion pack and just use the Jaws Unleashed concept but still use the good parts from Maneater.
In hind sight they could've gotten the best out of it by just tweaking how the missions work. I wouldn't mind being sneaky, like sneak up and be a bit strategic to cut off escape routes etc. Sneak up on people, get some brutal kills and cause mayhem and fear, if you're dectected and humans get the upper hand on you, now you can start throwing shit and explosives just to get out of there. As you stated, there was a lot of Metal Gear Shark-work being done for no reason what so ever. I wouldn't mind it being in the game, just not as the main objective.
I should of made my point a little better but I don't down right hate these types of ideas. But as you said when it's mostly that it gets old. But thank you for checking the video out man!
I loved this Game as a Kid! I remember playing this game so much it crashed my Dad's computer Three times over the course of a year😂. That said I love how the Graphics for the shark look so good and then the rest of the game looks like poop😂
I mean just because sharks populate an area doesn't mean they're not endangered. Thats like saying because a lot of tigers can be found in Texas they're not endangered. Also not all sharks are endangered but a good amount are

Thanks man. I will say the cinematics are pretty good for a budget title. Also yeah i can't think of many boat fights in general that are fun
Imagine being older than trees, just to get hunted to near extinction by a bunch of bald monkeys that scared themselves 😐
It really is crazy what learning how to use tools can do for a species. Also thumbs help

I wish I would of know this for so long. I spent hours when I was a kid trying to get to the whale shark.
@iamleoooo What's the video called? I'm curious to see it.

Can’t find the oldest video, so that’s probably a reupload

Dude said a movie tie in. Now I feel old Jaws came out in the '80s late '70s for the originals there was no PlayStation 2 for there to be a tie in

Yeah that's still my biggest issue with maneater. I never feel like my bites are heavy and powerful and jaws captures that bite force really well.

Oh good it's been like 3 weeks since you made a fish video, I was worried a fake CQ had stolen your channel and identity.
Glad to calm the worry. Fish CQ is always around

Come to the Caribbean or Florida and you’ll learn that sharks aren’t endangered here, we have way to many sharks it makes the reefs unfishable
