As an underground rapper, and I agree with the premise of this bit. It’s not like rap music that I used to listen to an early 2000s where a rappers are very direct with disses, and mentioned names, or roasted their opponents. This new trend of dissing, especially from Kendrick just feels like a Shakespeare play. It has to be translated because there are so convoluted references to things people said or did that I don’t understand. I don’t follow them that religiously to understand all the references.
