Thanks for sharing, like the brown and white calf. Another beautiful day on the farm, not like last year to where you had put heaters in the hoop/ maternity barn.
Another awesome video Greta is a great cow 3 set's of twins thats amazing Hope everything went well for you when the vet's came to the cow and their ok You had one c section last year and that worked out well fingers crossed it would go well again if thats what they had to do to get the calve out Really enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮
You can always have a vet check out the red heifer just incase, we have had a good one once. It happened when the heifer was born first and the bull second. That does suck though, it’s always the good cows that have heifer bull sets of twins.
When your cows have a freemartin, what do you do with the heifer? do you sell it for veal, raise it for the freezer or just take it to the auction and let someone else decide it's fate?
I believe sometimes the heifers actually are ok, (rarely ever), I would love to keep this heifer calf. We will let Greta raise these twins unless we have a cow that losses a calf. Then we will sell them at auction in November December.
Go back and read the book do your homework if you feel lucky keep your heifer twin for breeding there is about 10% chance of her being a breeder!Ask your Vet about a method used to determine if she is a dud or not!You might get lucky!
I could watch your content for hours. Not to mention how beautiful your farm is .. your herd looks beautiful happy and healthy..
Thanks, appreciate it and great to hear.

Glad that Greta has two healthy calves to care for. I also didn't know that shorthorn cattle could be white.

That's good to know, heifer was first in this case. Hope we have luck cause she is looking awesome.
Twins are a pain but a nice bonus

@@TwinElmFarms95% likely sterile; 5% fertile. There is a probe to test normal vaginal structure to minimize risk of keeping certain sterile newborns.
@@TwinElmFarmsyou could breed using sexed semen to minimize mixed twins
This is when you need Dr. Pol 😂
I have awesome vets around here, feel very fortunate
What breed are those white calves ?
Shorthorn
those twins are different colors they would have been in different sacks the heifer has a chance of not being free martin
We will find out, I hope you're right
Yea it's Claving Season.......and meat is meat.........
