Jack Shepard is a true hero.
tom campbell he was televisions biggest narcissist who never did a thing for anyone else. Or did you miss that about him over the six years he sucked the life out of the beautiful island. I would have fed him to the smoke monster by day three.

Hawaiiguy Kailua I think you are confusing the fact that he cared to save people over an island. Nothing about him suggests narcissism. He sure is stubborn but tbh almost every character was stubborn even John Locke. They just held different beliefs and ideologies and both of them stood by their ideas untill very end except Locke died and Jack eventually changed and if you actually have watched the tv series and did watch S6 & understood it even 1% you would realise that, Jack is probably the only character on the show who had some sort of charater development and actually CHANGED. And it was him who eventually ended up saving the whole island, literally sacrificing himself. And these descisions were consciously made. Hurley staying on the island as a protector was just incidental while Sawyer, Kate just left the island. I don't really know why exactly is Jack expected to care about the island when literally no other charater except Locke cared about it either. People have no problem with Sawyer being self-centred but Jack needs to care about the island for some reason?? Someone who literally risked his life for saving xyz charaters multiple times is a narcissist. People just hate him because he isn't sarcastic or funny enough and doesn't use nicknames. Atleast he felt guilty for Juliet's death even when he wasn't really responsible instead of saying she was a "sacrifice the island demanded." Atleast he never created unnecessary drama and wasted time just to snatch a kiss from Kate even when he knew someone would have died of asthma. I hope you realise atleast his choices was always his own. John locke is a tragic charater who probably got the idea right but was always manipulated. First by his father, then by MIB. The whole "you need to bring everyone back and die yourself" was never his own, but it was something that Richard told him, and it was MiB that told Richard to say it to Locke.
In retrospect Jack unknowingly made the most right decisions because they all lead to progression of their lives as they were supposed to be because "what happened, happened" and was supposed to be that way because past events had already happened.
He was a true hero. RIP Jack Shephard.

Lost will always remain the best series for me. A masterpiece and the main pride of American cinema.
Jack is their savior. Remember the cave collapse where he was buried alive. And the first thing he asked about was charlie.
Remember the first episode when he tried to save everybody else before he took care of himself. Jack is a hero at heart and will always be my favorite character. What it their to not love about him.
Ps: that was a retorical question, cause there is nothing to not love about him.

Has anyone ever related themselves to a TV character? It’s unreal the amount I can relate to Jack. I see myself in him so much. Interested to hear if anyone else sees themselves in any Lost characters?
Its funny to think like that. I also see myself a lot in Jack. But at the same time I also see myself in Desmond, because I felt stock in a long period of my life, but I sorted out as he did.

I'm 19 years old and watching Lost for the first time in my life. I've never liked tv series that much therefore i couldn't watch most of them start to finish. But Lost is different, it's been 3 months since i started but i still watch it which is new to me. I'm currently watching season 4 and i heard the ending was dissapointing but it was a great ride until that point. Best series i've ever watched

I have always thought Fix You was the perfect song for Jack (and Jate) and you did it justice with this vid!! You chose so many perfect scenes and voiceovers for the theme, really so many defining moments for Jack--with Christian, Sarah, and the survivors. I think Kate should be included a little more since she was so integral to Jack's journey, but I am also a little biased. :-) Great clip choice and edits, you really captured so much of what makes Jack such an incredible character. Great work.

@@juanitajones6900 as you can see, before jack goes to the island, he is broken.. by his divorce, by conflict with his father. he has nothing but a miserable life. but at the end, yes he sacrificed himself but he had gained peace and fulfillment.

Oh, LOST… you were SO GOOD the first 3 seasons… you just fell apart afterwards, to this day I don’t even know what happened… nor do I care. Greed at it worse. Should have been a planned 4-5seasons. Instead, they tried milking it for 6+ seasons, tarnishing the incredible work they did early on.
It seems you have no idea how network television works. Lost was a hit and from the network’s perspective, “why would you end a hit show that people watched?”
The truth is, ABC wanted to renew Lost for at least a total of 10 seasons, the producers had to negotiate and fight to bring it down to six seasons.
As I recall, it was the first time in television history that a show negotiated its own end. The standard practice was to keep renewing until the audience stopped watching (even today there are shows like NCIS with 20+ seasons).

Years after the show I still hate Jack Shepard of all the insufferable narcissists ever created for television.. That nobody ever called him out for being one was the most baffling thing about the show. Personally I would have tied him up and drug him into the jungle to be eaten by the smoke monster by day three.
Jack is THE nice guy of the show, the complex of the hero sticking to his skin, he wanted to help heal repair everything and everyone, it is seen usually in children of powerful and demanding parents who are born with this impression of not being enough Well and always wanting to do better, always to feel guilty, to self-criticize. .. on the island he never hesitated to help everyone, when we are a doctor, we feel concerned by everyone, it is not a part of fun but it's like that ... Kate , He supported her from the first moments, when he knew she was a murderer, he wanted to help her, to surpass herself, to forget her bad habits. Sawyer had humiliated her publicly but that's good, being bad is healthy, being good is pathological. The truth is that today's world is very disturbing, values are completely reversed and people admire anti-heroes (egoistic, individualist, ambitious, cruel ...) and hate good people ( Alive, generous, protective, caring, devoted ...) help them sleep better at night ... if you can forgive Kate for killing her father, said to have been a torturer, Sawyer to have shot an innocent, to desmond to have cowardly broken hearts ... forgive a jack for wanting to FIX everyone.

Jack, narcissist? Lol have u watched another show? Jack sacrifices himself from the first episod to the last one to save everybody else. He was always so hard on himself, thinking he doesnt have what it takes, blaming himself for any thing bad that happens to anyone !
Jack couldn't fix a light fixture let alone a human. His narcissism is the biggest in the history of television. I can't figure out how the majority of show fans couldn't figure that out. I would feed him to the smoke monster the first time I met him.
Jack was everything but a narcissist, he was prefering other's happiness to him's , he did everything he can to help everyone else, they needed him, they asked him to be the leader, to take decisions for them. So how do hell can someone change a selfless hero caring always about everyone else into a narcissist?!!!
