    Challenge Idea: Can you beat Pokemon Platinum with only TM moves? Obviously yes, but it would allow for a lot of creativity in team building and deciding who gets your single-use TMs. Plus you get Return right after your starter so you can do virtually the whole run with only TM moves.

    You are correct about Sabrina. There are literally only three ai modifications in the cartridge Gen 1 games, and they otherwise pick moves at random. The three mods are:
    1. Don't use a status move if it won't be able to inflict the status (so no Hypnosis on a sleeping or paralyzed Pokemon)
    2. Use what could argued to a "set-up move" on the second turn (this probably should have been the first turn)
    3. Make an attempt to hit elemental weaknesses (but do it really poorly because Gen 1 AI; this leads to all sorts of nonsense), and attempt to avoid resisted moves.
    Almost all trainers have the first mod, some have the second, and most of the later game important trainers have the last, though Bruno and Agatha notably do not, which is really important for a solo Weedle run (which is possible if you use items in battle).
    Additionally, trainer classes can also have items and conditions to use said items, usually in the form of "If less than X health, use item Y% of the time"; the amount of items is tracked per Pokemon in this game, so Brock has 5 Full Heals for each of his Pokemon. Switching is also handled in the same way, though it's rare to see because only Agatha, Jugglers, and female Cooltrrainers do it. I believe this also resets the other items but I'm not certain.

    (2:41) Yeah, and you did just use Gyarados for the Flying-type run, so fair enough.
    (2:51) Which fossil did you take? I hear that sham rocks are good for the fake stones algorithm. :P
    (4:13) In Gen. 1, Tackle has only 95% accuracy (it wasn't 100% until Gen. 5), so we really can't say it was the 1/256 miss glitch this time.
    (14:41) I'm pretty sure the crit odds with moves like Razor Leaf are 255/256 (99.6%) if the user has a base speed of at least 64 (Venusaur has 80).
    (17:49) Actually, your Starmie was faster than Dragonair there. There's like almost no way Dragonair can outspeed Starmie with their levels that close unless Dragonair has a ton of Stat EXP while you have none, but I'd say the opposite is the case here.
    (19:01) And that's game! Starmie FTW!

    The rival only has 3 AIs (whoch determine move and item use). Rival 1, the first 3 battles, doesn’t prioritize type effectiveness or have items. Rival 2, starting in SS Anne, has potions and uses type effectiveness. Rival 3 is the champion and finally upgrades to full restores. Each AI has a different sprite.

    MDB, Venusaur is basically guaranteed to crit with Razor Leaf. Crits are based off base speed in gen 1, and the high crit chance moves are guaranteed to crit i believe above 65 base speed. However, it can miss or fail based on the 1/256 glitch. Just accept he's going to crit you if it rolls razor leaf over vine whip. This is also why a mon like Scyther is not great since it can't combine swords dance with slash.
    BTW, Victreebel is absolutely beastly in gen 1. Like, better than most legendary pokemon in gen 1.

      @SomeGuy712x 2 месяца назад +1

      Razor Leaf has 95% accuracy, so if it misses, it's likely not due to the 1/256 glitch.

    Great video again!
    I still have some ideas for you as challenges. 3 to be exact!
    First: a Vulpix only run in gen 4. It can get some cool moves and you should be able to get some interesting tactics out of it. In that case (Heartgold/Soulsiver espacially!) i guess you could take more than one. Who knows if this is possible? In Platinum/Diamond/Pearl, this could be easier i guess?
    However, easy should be an Eeveelution run in gen 4, Platinum. You can get 7 possible Pokémon! I'm sure you can do some cool things with them!
    Third is... Can you beat Pokémon Crystal as Elite 4 Bruno? You steam roll him very often! However, how will he be turning out at taking down the Jotho league?
    By the way: what fossil did you take? And lets be honest here: you could have used both of them in the challenge!
    As a general idea: could you imagine doing a "Beating Pokémon gen ??? as Elite 4/Champ ???, but do it better?", using that Team, but improving the moves like you want to do?

      Hopefully, if he does Platinum with Vulpix, he doesn't get stuck at Bertha. I have been stuck on Bertha since level 70, and now am level 95

      @jand1993 2 месяца назад +1

      @@lacyelmwood7386 you did that already? Or rather tried?
      I mean, it can utilize some interesting tactics, however, i know it is physical pretty frail. So i'm not to surprised about that...
