I can’t wait to be a part of this in the 25 season, LETS GO SPIRIT!
ill see you on the field!! BATTALION 25 wishes you luck!!
you cannot convince me dci isnt one of the hardest professional sports/preforming art.
Excellent introduction to DCI!
Thank you so much! After pouring in so much time, it’s nice to see it accomplish my original vision and goal ❤️
I love dci, I really do hope more people start hearing about it. That is why I clicked on this video, so the algorithm supports it more.
I’m so thankful for the support! ❤️
Been saying this since 95.. dci is definitely a sport.
I don't give a sh*t what everyone else says, Cadets looked AWESOME in black.
2015- Shostakovich 10th Symphony was fantastic.
Power of Ten
Ten tubas- Brass won the Jim Ott award.
Ten snares- Drumline was great
Guard- WTF? I've seen better high school guards. What Happened?
Prelims show was electric. Finals was flat. What happened?
@@luvspaiste Guard struggled with the athleticism of the drill and all they were being asked to do (watch the guard GoPro on my channel from that year). Catie Toal did that one, she later went on to March BD and won. Not a talent issue. They were doing CRAZY stuff at those tempos!
I recall my prelims semis and finals being consistent and fun! When Bluecoats passed us in semis, the overall moral was low, knowing it was a repeat of the year before where coats passed us on the final night! Nothing we could do!
@@Rocdar12 "Guard struggled with the athleticism of the drill "
Brass won their caption with the athleticism of the drill.
@@luvspaiste you win some you lose some
Cadets 2016, so underhated and rated. So good. RIP Cadets
@@Rocdar12 RIP Cadets
I love watching “definitely not the bluecoats”
dci is so peak 🙏 thank you for making this video to introduce people to it!
This is a really well put-together video! I’m totally gonna send this to people I know lol
Also, RIP Cadets. My heart still hurts, as I’m sure yours does.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It means so much! ❤️
Bloocoats “Change is everything” (just performed this last season) is my favorite DCI show and Phantom Regiments “Spartacus” is my second favorite show.
my marching band nerd inside of me watching this video despite having multiple friends in dci and being obsessed with dci as a whole:
You should mention that there are many videos of videos before finals, and those shows almost always have something different either removed or added compared to the finals show. Really cool to see a show progress!
Have loved DCI since I was in High School in the 80's and saw the Blue Devils '79 Show (La Suerte De Los Tontos) and now live in Canton (Home of the Blue Coats).
Oh don’t worry I’ve heard about this from my band friends going on page long rants and eventually just making video essays about the placements/scores from this years finals
Cant believe nobody told me about BAC 2017. Gotta watch that show
🔥 🧙♀️ 🔥
Carolina Crown's 2011 Show "Rach Star" is my personal favorite... I dont think there's much that can beat the intro from that show
Absolutely! Perfect timing with the announcement MADE that performance that much better!
Truth be told, I didn’t know about DCI until after I aged out. I was kind of upset about it, but I’m so happy that they had a merger with Drum Corps Associates to introduce the All-Age division. It may not be the same, but it’s the closest this 25 year old will ever get to marching Spirit of Atlanta. Hoping to march in Atlanta CV in the 2025 season! 😊
Interestingly, there WAS a purely artistic component to the very early Olympics...
When you said they get paid 50K I nearly lost it...
This video is amazing!!
Go BLOOOOOO!!
GOLDEN MF SECTION BABEYYYYYYYY FHNSAB
Did the Cadets rehearse in Johnstown PA at the Pitt Campus. We used to go hang out and watch them but I can remember the specific years.
@@TechArtRoom Yes! They were there for many years, but stopped doing Spring Training there (fully) in 2015. I think they did half and half in 2016.
Commenting for the algorithm
Never heard of? I’ve been trying to make a corps for 4 years
Dude I wanna tell you, the real marching sport it was in Indonesia, pdbi has a speed march competition in athletic track in national olympic Games :D
@@nooto6739 Now I need to go investigate this and learn something myself! :)
However…great overview!
FHNSAB!! (1993-1997)
Erm actually I have heard of DCI🤓
One thing I've always disliked as a non-American is that it's called "Drum Corps International". Where does the "international" part come into play? Afaik, it all or mostly takes place in the USA.
I used to be confused by this too. I then realized that only the US has “American Football” Fields readily available for rehearsals and performances all over the country. Additionally, the amount of people I marched with from other countries is higher than I would’ve thought!
I've been a fan of DCI since 1993. But honestly, it lost me when they started to allow electronic instruments and *gasp* microphones. That just a bridge too far. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the size and static nature ifcthe pits these days. I yearn for the days where all instruments had to march. We got a taste of it in 2014 with the Cavalier's marching marimba solo. But that battle was lost decades ago.
NOT. Marching Band! Ugh!!
Boo who cares
Well that’s rude.
@@Rocdar12yeah agreed my bad
