Their ambitions, I don't think so? Me, it is because they are blinded by the morality of humanity. This morality is used for survival, so that a group remains more easily united (the whole process of sociability).
Morals seek survival, not truth. (Does it have to exist, the philosopher do not agree too much on its defenition and its existence.
Man is hypocrite on Nature and on himself.
He has illusions of "protection" because the truth is too hard. Why can't he stand it? I don't really know, but it's related to morality (but it's not just that).

The man calmly flicked globs of potatoes off of his shirt.

He turned to leave, but the scarred, muscled, rowdy man grabbed him by the shoulder, speaking in a low growl that he was incredibly accustomed to. A sign that the other party was prepared to commence violence.
'You boast of being the best fighter in town, yet you let some random newcomer like me stain your clothes and insult you infront of your people, and you don't even lift a finger? Huh?! You scared? You quivering in your pants and-'

“Oh, and I know you’re reading or watching this. Oh yes, I can
sense you. Sadly, it is not your time yet. However, I can leave you
with these words.”
*Walks through the doorway into a brilliant white light, with some
Final words resonating through the air.*

*OK, so this is my take on what’s going on, so please don’t hate on it. Obviously, Anger is the person on the cover. I just threw in some other characters to flesh it out, and I must say, I’m actually pleased with the results. Basically, Anger and Manipulative are Primal beings (If their names didn’t give it away). After a little chat, we get a little taste of a certain person called Null and a little bit of the Void. Who is he? What is the Void? Well, I’ll let you’re imagination run wild, on that and many other things. That’s the beauty of this. All it takes is one little spark, and everyone comes up with more and more ideas. So, I hope you have some fun with this! For now, good bye, and may the Void remain Eternal* ;)

There’s some inspiration, a little music from a abridged series got me this far.
This makes me think of an epic vhs/godzilla-esque aesthetic trailer for an arc of my original manga idea

I got one hell of a lucid dream with this on loop.
In all QYS3's artwork of Tian Ling, she's always had her hair done up in a bun. She looks GREAT with it all down like this.

You had been scrounging through the debris for anything of value to scrap or trade, fighting off other scavengers and bandits in this horrible world, but when a bright gleam of light poked through the everpresent smoke covering the sky, you had looked up to see her sitting there, a silhouette of a giant cross behind her. Uncharacteristically, you fell to your knees and dropped your hands to the side, letting go of the bag of junk and the rifle you had been carrying with you.
"Who are you?"
The woman grinned wider, her amber eyes cutting through your soul.
