the kpop training system was directly taken from motown, a black american record label who used this method on their own black girl groups. it was always a western formula, but kpop definitely popularized it in the modern era.
Actually Kpop took its Training System from Jpop who were inspired by motown but they did changed some things about it.Motown Artists didnt lived together and they also didnt do choreography for examples (and of course their werent Idols just Artists) Jonnys put out its first Group in 1962 and went on to change their Training Formual in the next Decades. It wasnt the direct same. Even the Training System of Jpop and Kpop are different. Wich you can see if you compare Group from this 3 different Industries. Their focus on different things. Also modern western Groups arent trained that way either way en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_idol
as a former fan of boys’ world, their disbandment was so sudden??? like they had all this hype, had viral singles, they were (and still are) so loved & underrated and then they’re no longer together…. i blame KYN entertainment for this.
Their disbandment really saddenet and shocked me somehow, although not surprising? Their discography was nothing but banger after banger, I just wish that they would have released an actual Album after their first EP instead of another EP. Maybe that would have actually put them on a map for real. I will miss them dearly, and I hope they are all well!
From a fan perspective it felt like KYN didn’t have the money or knowledge to promote a girl group in today’s entertainment industry. If you didn’t have TikTok to keep up it was like the group dropped an ep then disappeared. No festival, busking, or concert performances to gain an actual audience off TikTok
I also feel like, their manager saw the success of FLO and decided they should try to replicate that with gone girl. They should have kept going in that direction. But caught in your love was THEE sound they needed. Sad they didnt start with caught in your love, or even gone girl cause gone girl fits a wingman EP
I feel like if Western companies want to use or emulate kpop, they have to go all out. Like do the whole 2-5 weeks of promo hype before the release drops. Then after the release spend 2-4 weeks making (long form) content about the song, do dance rehersals, and make vlogs about the process.
I think it was obvious from the beginning that’s whoever was managing them did not have a lot of budget and the budget wasn’t getting any better as time ran out. They were probably breaking even (or worse losing money)when it came to cost and that just wasn’t something they could continue.

Boys world popped up on my TikTok feed every now and then over the years and I’m finding how now just how many songs they actually had. I only ever knew of two or three. thanks for making this video. i knew you would in time as one of their BIGGEST fans ever. a minor or potentially larger issue that hasn't got a lot of traction is btwn queenie and mak. to me it was very clear from the beginning that the two of them weren't close but over the years it became more obvious that they didn't like each other. about at least a year prior to the disbandment, i definitely noticed how mak was not in a lot of social things among the girls but soon after disbandment, queenie posted about letting toxic or unwanted ppl go and unfollowed mak. also the rest of the girls didn't really interact with her content towards the end and saw today that mak also unfollowed queenie. the other 4 constantly are hanging out with each other and seem very close. all of this to say internal dynamics always play a role but KYN and their team are the pieces of shit responsible for their demise
They debuted too early. They should’ve released girlfriends in 2021 not 2020. 2020 was peak covid months where a lot of concerts got canceled and they had their nickfest festival cancelled. I think flo was supposed to debut in 2021 but pushed it back to 2022 just to take full advantage of covid protocols starting to lighten up. They took too many music hiatus without giving content. A big reason groups K-pop groups and western groups like fifth harmony and one direction gained loyal fanbases was because they did well in cultivating parasocial fandoms. They were constantly releasing content and promoting everywhere and gave enough content for people to write fanfics, make fun edits, speculate drama, etc. Another that stuck out to me big was regarding the group cohesion. Olivia didn’t fit in the group 🤷♀️. All the other girls were smaller than her and seemed to be 5’3 max but she was like 5’8-5’9 and she was never put as a center position. 26:00 "Loossemble" are actually made up of LOONA members! (You might know them... stan LOONA). "Loossemble" means "LOONA + assemble". They made the group after the fans boycotted the company and the members were involved in court cases against it to void their contracts, because they were being mistreated and the company unfairly kicked one of the members out. So these 5 girls reunited under a different company after winning their injuction lawsuits. The song they made for Loossemble definitely became a fan favorite. I just have to say I felt a bit bad for Boys World because apparently they had already recorded the original and everything, there's demos online... But I'm glad they decided to let another girl group give the song life! Real artists
I've been a fan of them since their first single. I remember it was around that time because they met Why Don't We and they posted on Instagram. I was a big limelight before WDW broke up, and when Jonah said to check out their music I did.
The thing I don’t get is why these k-pop companies are making literally survival shows with trainees who has little experience for these “global groups” (hate that term, they are k-pop groups that sing in English), when Boys World are now free agents and could be signed to one of these labels. I hope that happens, because that’d be smart, already have a built in fanbase and could literally grow with a company that knows what they are doing. And my favorite Boys World song is Something In The Water, which to me is a summer song that should have been the song of the summer for 2021. I didn’t like the styling in the video (I though the outfits looked ok, but not for dancing and I don’t like the cover on the single (I also dislike it wasn’t a part of like an album or like a mini album). I also think the video could have had actual water in it, because I think that’s really weird to have no water in a MV for a song about water. I also thought about it, but I think if they could have opened for Olivia Rodrigo, who has that Y2K style, I think they could have boosted their concept more (I also think So What was still Y2k). If I had to explain their evolution, it reminds me of the k-pop group Rainbow (who was/is under DPS, Kara’s and KARD’s label) who started in 2009 with like a girly concept and went into a more mature and sexy concept (which I think was their best concept, very Girls’ Generation meets 9Muses), then oddly went cutesy for a little while, then went sexy sexy when the k-pop sexy era of 2013/2014-2016 came around and then kind of had like one more girly-ish concept with Whoo before they disbanded (it didn’t help DPS shipped them to Japan for a year and literally let South Korea forget about them).
that makes no sense because they don’t sing in korean so how can these global groups be considered kpop? Majority of these global groups are in a collaboration between a Korean & American company except for XG that are from a Japanese company only
@@Anonx000 True in a sense, but then technically Boys World, One Direction, etc. would also be a global group too, but they aren’t. It’s the way they are made, the training, group direction, marketing. I mean even Kateye’s debut mini album is in the style of a k-pop album, rather than a jewel cd case like most western artists. And the fact most k-pop groups nowadays have full English songs on their albums/singles, feels like the lines are blurred a bit.
@@adamsmoberly because katseye is partly managed by hybe so ofc the way they promote them is going to be the same as a kpop group the whole point of creating the group was to follow the kpop methodology which made kpop groups successful globally and imo is the best way to promote a group, something that western groups lack
If the group would have lasted longer if they were promoted in Asia early in there career as groups are more accepted and can be more popular than soloist musicians in Asia
I said on a previous video of yours that *someone* should carry the legacy of our queens Little Mix, I didn't necessarily say these girls would do that. Honestly, ANYONE can fill the void of Western girl groups at this point 🤫

that makes no sense because they don’t sing in korean so how can these global groups be considered kpop?
KATSEYE is strong contender.
damn I'm late. I've never heard of boysworld in my life but really their music is great
No shut up they made Confessions by LOOSSEMBLE?! I love when my faves come together 🥹 I really loved the group and their disbandment was so sudden and sad fr.
I’m so sad Gone Girl never had the moment it deserved 😢
ayyyy loossemble mention
GONE GIRL FTW!!!!!
The first time I saw the group and their name my first thought was "oh, this must be some girl group that's all about being boy obsessed and caring about what men think.", I hate to admit that it did indeed turn me off and I only listened to them after a song of theirs played randomly for me on Spotify. It's such an odd name to me.
I get what you mean. I really dislike (dare I say hate) the name but the music is great
THE FACT THAT THEY ANNOUNCED THE DISBANDMENT ON MY SADDEST BIRTHDAY IS SO SAD
This is off topic, but on the thumbnail I thought that the girl with the high ponytail, (closest to Jas) is Ariana Grande LMAO
yes she was once in boys world actually!! LMAO
I want elana to put out music she was my favorite singer in the group
she’s my bias too i hope she pursues a solo career: she has potential to be the next main pop girl
It maybe label sucked but didn't worked, and that why it failed
❤❤❤
I’m new here but that mic looks so heavy bestie omg is your wrist okay?
they dont have star power and the group branding was not very appealing
wdym they don’t have star power..
They definitely had star power. Wrong management & promotion. But to say they lacked star power is a crazy opinion lol.
@@bananaspudding lmao exactly
@@bananaspudding they dont, they look like normal citizen they dont look famous, they dont habe the aura of pop stars but theyre really really talented. you dont understand what star power is, hey look like a group of thetre kids or chilhood bestfriend who wants to be in a pop group
@@user-jx9on3cz3v they dont look famous and theres no attraction to them
i mean.....they would been outsold by katseye anyways if they stayed as a group.
It would have been nice if western groups could co-exist like in the past sigh
@@09803x definitely!!
@@09803xThey can’t cause it’s too late to compete with Kpop agencies unless they start hiring experienced employees from those kpop agencies
@@hallooos7585 so many talented girl groups in america that never get recognition but it’s the complete opposite in asia where they loveeee girl groups
@@09803xi honestly think some of these are drama bot comments bc there’s always at least one on katseye/boysworld commentary videos. they always give the same energy as the top comment under a popbase tweet.
i had a beautiful journey in Boysworld so thank you to everyone that supported us and continues to support us individually!🫶🦇
makhyli 🥺 we’re so ready for ur solo music
I saw the disbandment coming from a mile away... 🫤 unfortunately, nothing was sticking and having once stanned Prettymuch. I expected the same outcome.
