It is NOT 25 years since the release of Parklife! I absolutely refuse to believe that! I'm still young, I'm still young, I'm still young.... *rocks in corner*
That opening riff really puts your guitar’s intonation to the test. Unfortunately, mine didn’t pass.
Am I missing something weird with the tuning?.... that opening riff sounds terrible on my strat in standard tuning, just completely out out of tune.
Same 🥲
I’m using strat too it sounds awful
@@Noname-ff3ld😭😔
@@mikeboosh8776Same, had it set up by a specialist which wasn't cheap, fine for some of the riffy oasis songs but this sounds nothing like the stuff he plays on that telecaster
"...stroppy Art-School approach to the instrument..." Perfect!
Thanks Adrain - the genius that is Graham Coxon... - and as ever you absolutely nailed it! Thanks so much - Brilliant!
Cheers - glad you liked it!
U totally right. For me Graham is one of the most unknown and underrated guitarist of recent rock music.
That butterscotch blonde is the ultimate tele finish. Gorgeous.
for anyone curious, coxon almost exclusively used a marshall super lead and a rat distortion pedal for blur songs (marshall with a minimal drive and then the rat to bring more gain)
Chemical World is another great Coxon riff on his Les Paul Custom.
Best lesson I’ve seen for this on RUclips. Hopefully we’ll see you do some stone roses soon, i love John Squires guitar work. 30th anniversary of the debut album too
Yes please some more Stone Roses would be great
Currently attempting to work out ‘Magic America’. Coxon’s a genius, and a very modest one at that.
Great stuff as usual! Coxon has such an idiosyncratic sound and you nailed it. I've been having a bit of a Suede fest recently, and if anything I appreciate them more now than I did at the time - and I loved them at the time. Bernard Butler had such a brilliant dirty sound but he could do a lot of delicate work as well. So if you're ever stuck for new lesson ideas - then just about anything by Suede from their first two albums would be much appreciated. Cheers!
I keep hearing "Daytripper" at 6:17ish. I competely went on a tangent for five minutes.
same
The best guitar lesson I've ever seen from this song👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Coxon on That Pedal Show is mint
"Like in football. No technical ability whatsoever, I just score goals!"
You've got the sound absolutely perfect there!!
Wow, you went for it! Cheers Adrian, this is brilliant.. 🍻😊
Love Coxon, the song and the album so I couldn't resist! Thanks Steve, and enjoy learning it.
I'd never really appreciated how glam rock, T-Rexy the guitar work is on this track. Another great video Adrian!
ive been trying to learn this for a couple days and i got the intro down, but i just couldnt for the life of me figure out the chorus. i was thrilled to see one of your videos pop up when i searched for a lesson - youre by far the best teacher on youtube
Ahahaha! - "widdly-woo virtuoso" - you should really trademark that! Perfectly summarizes my feeling as well. And *great* song by the way. Gonna have a go. Could see it being a great warmup, too. (Along with a couple of the Nice Licks, which I attempt regularly...)
Amazing Mister Coxon riff. Thanks Adrian!
Thanks Adrian maybe Charmless man next time underrated single from blur
Never knew exactly what the little fiddly bit in the chorus was, nice one! Favourite guitar lessons on RUclips
Thanks James. Yes, I always played the chorus a bit wrong, but think I've cracked it now.
Brilliant 👏👏👏
Love this, thanks! Not sure if they're your cup of tea, but Alex Lifeson from Rush is an interesting player. The 'bend behind the nut' solo from Xanadu never fails to floor me
Senses Working Overtime by XTC is the one that none of us can play.
How 'bout it?
Dunno if I can play it either! But if I can get to the bottom of things I'll do a video later this year.
Excellent instruction. Much appreciated.
Thanks for this (the jazz chord after the arpeggio is a bugger) I am playing it with my Telecaster through a Marshall JCM 900 with no Tubescreamer and it sounds great
Love your lessons ! Keep it on !
Great lesson, thank you so much!
Brilliant thank you.
Cheers!
Love it. Cheers, Adrian.
I’m really enjoying your lesson and gritty tone. Can you please share what you are playing your tele through?
Excellent !
Fantastic lesson - thank you :)
Awesome mate thanks!
Awesome lesson! :)
Another great vid 👍
Waited a lifetime to play this propery thanks so much. Which amp are you playing through?
GENIOUS! THANKS
Massive Coxon !!
Would be great if you could do the interpreter by Rocky Erickson. I also think you'd enjoy playing it.
Thank u so much!
ottimo tutorial!
Amazing lesson as always Adrian, since you’ve just covered this I just thought of some of my other favourite blur songs- any possibilities of covering more blur? I’d lover to see perhaps a coffee & tv or out of time lesson
Not a huge fan of blur but a great lesson, any chance of a lesson if there’s no other way? I am not convinced my version is authentic. Also, in the same vein, how about some happy Monday’s and the stone roses and the charlatans, soup dragons and the blue tones and reef and cast, I’ve come over all nostalgic after watching this one! Cheers, C
Thanks Craig. Yes, I grew up on all those bands - all great stuff! There's No Other Way has some great riffs, so I'll bear that in mind for a future lesson. If you've not seen it, I did a Mondays video a while back where I go through a few of my favourite songs. Must do a bit of John Squire soon!
Love this lesson and The Happy Mondays riff tutorial. Thanks again. It would be wonderful if you would next tackle There's No Other Way. Too many versions on You Tube that just don't sound correct.
Nice, thanks:)
You can really hear the Syd Barrett influence hearing this song broken down to it's individual parts.
I agree, Blur and Coxon are definitley coming from that eccentric, British art school tradition, like Barrett, the Kinks...and a lot of Coxon's solo stuff reminds me of Syd.
That's right
Good lesson could you do xtc sergeant rock thanks again
Planning to do more XTC later in the year so...maybe!
Brilliant, 25 though!😲
Could you do a 'Chemical World' lesson?
Tidy!
Great lesson. What's the electric piano in the background you got there?
could you possibly do country house pls
Ooooh yeah...
POPSCENE GUITAR LESSON
Bar chords make me want to cry
can you do anyone can play guitar by rh tutorial???
Hi Adrian, what happened to your Spotify list,I miss it.
Yes, just been a bit lazy updating it! Will try and get round to it soon.
you even look like a member of blur
