I am so used to using procreate on my ipad that I have a lot of trouble transitioning to a non-screen drawing tablet with my pc especially with my second vertical monitor. I got an ad on Instagram for these and I am very intrigued to get one.
I've been using procreate for years. I'm interested in getting a pen display, but I think using touch gestures as part of my workflow is way too engrained.
This looks a solid buy; it’s good to see companies pushing the envelope and developing real competition to Wacom. The only issue I have is the screen protector. Are these just a film put on, which needs replacing down the line, or are they permanently bonded? I always worry about scratches! Thanks for the great reviews too, easily my go to for tech.
i've always watch your reviews and based on your artist 12 2nd gens review, i just got my artist 13 a week ago, and it feels like a real upgrade from a pen tablet i've used before, a couple of things i noticed was: with my laptop (windows) there's no color calibration option, but after used other (better laptop, windows) there is a display cal. option, so it works good on my non-hd and low specs laptop,, but i dont think there's pen calibration option (but the pen works perfectly), havent find any issues with this tablet, im glad there's a sale on xp pen web otherwise the price is a bit out of my price range, thanks for your recommendation teoh 👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
a little too late update from me, fortunately, the color n pen calibration mode is available with better laptop. my old laptop is running out of breath apparently 😅
I bought it online here in the Philippines. Hopefully, it'll be delivered soon. I can't wait to use it. I selected the Pink variant. My brother took the Black variant. I really think the 13 inch size of the screen is the most suitable and convenient. Having a larger screen can take a lot of space already. I also bought the stand, pen holder and usb-c cable. It would be nice tho if in their next release those things are already included. But I'm satisfied with the things I bought from XP Pen. Hopefully, it'll help me and my brother, go back to digital art. Its been so long since we did digital painting. Thanks for this review. I had a visual on what I can do with my purchase. I've been looking for a lot of reviews in this particular size but there are a few. Again, thanks for this upload.

XP-Pen is actually under Ugee company. The quality is quite similar. They also use the same driver. Generally speaking, I recommend getting a pen display that's at least 13 inches or larger if you have the budget.
why cant i use the type C to USB so I can use the on screen display feature of XP-Pen artist 13 2nd gen? My type C can fit the full feature USB c port it says no signal on the xp-pen screen

I eventually get myself a 13 Gen 2, was so excited to unbox it, but when I see a small air bubble in the protection film, and yes, I already peeled off the first layer of the film, and the bubble still there. My OCD trigged so badly...
Dear friend. You don't know what to do if after buying artist 2nd gen 13 my brushes in photoshop behave strangely. Some oil, texture brushes paint like watercolor (transparent). They only start to run thick if I set the softness slider to the STRONGEST softness in the driver program. But at the same time, other brushes cannot work well with such a power of softness. Rearranged photoshop three times. To be honest, the driver behaves unstable... I have Windows 11. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to proceed. I tend to think that the old brush settings on my previous device don't work with the new tablet...
Test with other software first to see if it's a problem specific to Photoshop. Test with Medibang Paint Pro, Clip Studio Paint (trial). Or you can reset Photoshop settings (Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift immediately after launching Photoshop).

@@chiefd13 Sorry to hear that! I just saw your comment. I haven't had the chance to use mine as much as I would have liked (made no lineart yet), but I am happy with how it works. I struggled a bit with color calibration and the activation pressure, but the device otherwise is not too different than the wacom i normally use. Hope huion is a better experience for you!

They have kinda similar drawing performance. So you can choose based on other factors, eg. shortcut buttons, warranty period, things included. pricing.
In my opinion i think it’s better if you’d get a bigger one, like 16 inches. Example: Xp pen artist 16 and huion kamvas 16 since those are more inexpensive, there’s also the Cintiq 16, but it’s more expensive

You'll need a colour calibrator which is a separate purchase. Otherwise you will have to calibrate manual by tweaking the RGB from the OSD manual while referring to a colour accurate source.
@@teohontech7141 ah. So I have to get a video usb-c type cable? I only used the one I have lying around which is the c to c type cable of my Macbook charger. My iMac doesn’t have an HDMI port and I didn’t have an adapter.

@@mikifubuki Not all USB-C cables support video transmission. The original USB-C cable from Apple for charging is just for charging with very slow data transfer speed, not good enough for video.
Hey Teoh. I think theres been an update or something. You cant change the display settings for the XP Pen Artist 13 (2nd gen) through the (Windows) driver anymore. Is it the same for others too??
I no longer have this so I can't test. Contact XP-Pen to ask. Also ask if there's a shortcut key combo to get into the OSD from the hotkeys by the side. I seem to remember there is, but maybe I forgot.

What Macbook are you using? Is it M1? Also, how were you able to use the full screen version, every time I use it the pen and screen have a disparity despite calibration. I don't know if it's a defect or if it's just a firmware issue. It works fine on my Windows PC but the M1 Air has a problem :(

The screen protector can be replaced. Replacing a huge screen protector is not easy though

You computer must be able to output video from USB C. USB A does not output video

How to fix pen delay or increase pen responding? I mean I want the pen respond as fast as we draw on papers.

Go with 13 if you can. That’s the minimum size I recommend if you are going to work on it often

No. No signal could be due to loose cable connection, using of a non-video USB C cable, or the display not getting enough power

Bro you have not connected it to power supply is the tablet don't need it like Huion or wacom?
If your computer or laptop can provide enough power through USB-C, there's no need to connect the pen display to additional power source.

It does not need to be Thunderbolt. But the USB-C must mention video output or DisplayPort support.

Try choosing the resolution for the 2nd screen (xp pen) from MacOS System Preferences display settings.
