I suffer chronic sciatica all down my back to my toes. Today I got the cold Lazer treatment today and it was successful in relieving my pain and being able to walk with balance.
Hi Can you please update about the results so far. I have chronic L4-L5 disc bulge (7years) and now I'm diagnosed with sacroillitis. My PT has suggested for cold laser therapy. Please share your experience.
I was treated by a chiro for a bad head cold using the same device as shown in the video. First he used "applied kinesiology" to determine the resonant frequency of the cold organism . I was infected with 3 different organisms. He had me sit in a lounge chair with eye protection on and set the laser frequency to match the frequency of the organisms, using one frequency, then a second and the third, for 10 minutes each. As the treatment proceeded I could feel the cold losing it's grip on me. The tightness released and congestion stopped and I walked out of the office with the cold completely gone and it did not come back. The problem for me was that the cost is based on the number of minutes of treatment and I was charged $600. For that I will suffer the cold. At some point, as this technique becomes more widely known, I hope the cost will drop so people could pay a reasonable fee for the treatment.
The person treating you seems more focused on money. Frequency specificity is not always important. He or she was taking advantage of you. We treat colds with nutrition mainly and might use laser over the sinuses. Colds do not disappear after a single treatment if it is truly a cold ( which is a virus )but viruses usually take a while. Our office charges $45 per session.
Pain is a complex condition. Yes, with LLLT, it helps. However, it's best to provide direct contact with LLLT units, as this contributes to the trigger point effect. Also, NO to any chiropractic manipulations that involve HVTs (high velocity thrusts). As there are safer and more effective alternatives. This is a complex issue! More to discuss. Phil Petursson, Registered Health Practitioner (New Zealand)
I went to a chiropractor who used the Pulstar system. Great results with none of the typical back "cracking" technique. Also, I had this cold laser therapy on my ankle tendonitis and planter fasciitis. Really helped.
I'm surprised the therapist claims "No side-effects" at about 04:45. From what I've read and been told about LASER treatment and LASER safety, side-effects are possible. Some can be temporary and some can be permanent. They are dependent on a number of factors and the more powerful the LASER beam(s) the more risks are involved. Occurence and severity of these side-effects can depend on training of the practitioner, LASER power, energy density (e.g. beam focus/distance can affect this), instantaneous beam exposure time, cumulative beam exposure time, beam wavelength, damaged or improperly calibrated equipment, and more. Eye damage (permanent retinal damage even from indirect/reflected LASER light (this can happen with improper use of safety glasses, damaged or no safety glasses, wrong wavelength glasses, counterfeit safety glasses (a known problem on internet sales websites, and more) Tissue burns Mild Erythema: a skin rash from inflamed capillaries. Temporary intermittent localized burning sensation Temporary localized numbness Increased pain (a number of pain treatments have the potential to actually increase pain)
I've been using a class 3B gallium arsenide super pulsed laser for about 16 years and have never seen any negative side effects. Because it is pulsed it won't damage the area being treated. As far as causing eye damage..the simple answer is not to shine it in your eyes or those of the patient. Since most treatments with this instrument are done while contacting the area being treated, it is unlikely that eye damage will take place. Among my colleague who use laser in their offices, I have heard of no reports of eye damage. If the user is properly trained, no problems are likely to happen.
I have never heard of anyone making someone stare into a cold laser beam. Welding can blind you. Working with harsh chemicals can blind you. Only doctors are allowed to apply a medical device to a injury.
