I'm glad you dressed the VS issue, I've been sayings this since day one, there's a difference between real fighting, fighting real fighters vs coming from a martial arts background with film influence over you. This is the real world. This guy has a cloud over his head, in a way I want him to fight so he'll wake up, but I'm also scared over his health if he fights a real fighter, he has no clue what's waiting for him.
Quick update on your little buddy David. He went from challenging and disrespecting professional athletes to paying $299 to participate in a satire spar/boxing event against a fashion model next week. Of course to him it’s his fighting debut.SMH this is what happens when you let your money raise your kids

Remember that a jacket and jeans are comparable to a gi on the street. Crazy unicorn chokes are out the window still for sure. But other techniques still work ie De La Riva (albeit only for fast transition)

As a retired professional fighter, and an actual working actor, I would be first in line when it comes to beating his ass in the ring but I know better. He doesn’t wanna fight he just wants the clout that comes with it.

I’m sorry I wholeheartedly disagree with you on that, real friends tell each other when they are full of crap. Boxing is a sport with potentially devastatingly consequences especially if you are not prepared. cheering someone on blindly just because they’re a friend doesn’t make one a supporter.
@@TheKungFuGenius so you dont trust him ? There is a revery in the ring, its not a illegaal street fight. In the Netherlands we have a saying " when its in the head you can not stop" ( its a free translation from Dutch) . Plus i dont judge you and dont know you but your friend needs support. Respect him for trying what hé thinks that hé wants to do and when hé loos hé get it out of his mind for a next fight.

People used to tell Joe Lewis (the karate guy, not the boxer) you shouldn't lift weights if you want to be a fighter, but he did pretty well in the full contact, PKA ring and he was pretty buff. Actually, the only martial arts guy from the era that had more successful fights (and overseas fights) was probably Benny Uriquidez. Don't forget Bruce Lee was big into body building too; The weights are OK if you work the cardio stuff too. If you're doing a lot of punching and kicking you're not going to turn into Arnold Schwarzenegger anyway, you're burning too many calories.

I like VS, but as a friend, I have to say how I see it. These are not good odds and being realistic doesn’t mean you’re a hater. If I had a friend who saw that I was making a silly decision to compete with potential dire brain damaged consequences against a semi or full professional, I want my friends to tell me that they think I’m full of shit.

Any timeline with your recovery? I recorded this before your injury.
@@TheKungFuGenius I had surgery on Wednesday and in a cast til next week. The recovery varies, I talked to a guy at the gym today who had the same surgery and he's 3 months in, has full functionality and movement but is trying to get his strength back. I think I could safely fight in March or April. We'll see what happens at the end of January though bc there is that potential kickboxing fight against Jimmy Justice.
I just saw Nam Pham fight in a Muai Thai tournament in CA.
Unfortunately he was KO in the first round :/
Nam was ok but never high level fighter and he is now totally washed up after several kos and concussions propably shouldn't fight at all due to health he is also something like 60kg when he fights if I remember correctly so propably way less than Viking so still more dangerous but not a very big challenge and I think viking relize he is way worse he thought after sparrings and critique he got so maybe his injury is to give him time
(I have to check out but I remember hearing that his second fight is with dude who is connected with him buiseness wise by same people who promote them or something if so then Im not suprised)
