I'm sorry but this channel DESERVES way more subs than it currently has. Please, do not be discouraged by this, there is currently a new wave of retro-modern gaming trends occurring that are causing a revamped demand for CRT screens, and older gaming machines, including Macintosh Vintage Computers. I feel that this will eventually translate to a larger population that are interested in older hardware. The invention of the new ZuluSCSI by Rabbit Hole Computing is a perfect example of this phenomenon occurring. They created a cross between BlueSCSI and SCSI2SD v.5 to make the ZuluSCSI, which requires no additional power, and can emulate up to 7 types of SCSIs simultaneously. Would love to see you review that one, since theirs has no UI, its controlled using the filename system, updating firmware is as easy pasting file into SD card.
I so appreciate your videos. Your "explain it like I'm 5" way of teaching is so great for me as I am completely self-taught. For this one I literally paused and did every step on my own rascsi to get through it.This video and your Mini vMac video have helped me immensely to get things working!!! Thank you so much!!
Found my way here when researching SD SCSI devices for my music making with vintage gear, and as a big fan of older bits of tech I'm glad I did! Subbed.
Super cool! I forgot about RaSCSI for a while. Now I need to get one! It will be great for a few videos I have planned for this year around the Mac and possibly other devices. Great job on this video :)
What an AMAZING piece of tech, and, of course, a great overview. Now I'm wondering if there is (or will be) an option to configure different profiles that can be set to capture different configurations. And, also assuming that there is a version of cURL (or similar software) for classic macs (not sure if there is), with a few desktop shortcuts, one could flip between the different profiles (i.e. this would allow for ease of injecting different ISO images, configuring networks, etc.).
In the web interface you can save profiles, and that will say what devices are attached to what SCSI IDs. Not sure about the cURL(or similar) question, but I like the way you think!
The Web Interface is built with support for oldshool Nescape in mind, so the browser can effectively be your interface for controlling RaSCSI from your vintage Mac, or any other vintage computer with a decently capable browser. The only thing that DOESN'T work is file uploading, since we depend on Dropzone JS for that functionality. But everything else SHOULD work, and if it doesn't please report a bug. ^^;; Does this address the usecases you had in mind?
Great to see you back, I really like your new lab setup. Also that's a great addon, I think I'm going to start using this with my A500, where I still have a spinning glass disk in it, the ISO side of things will be a great addition.
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing. I’m currently pulling together the kit I need to get a Quadra 700 up and running and this is exactly what I needed. 👍
Seeing the internet run on the color classic was so nostalgic, I'm quite sure these were my first experiences with computers and browsers in elementary school! Hope to one day get ahold of one, and do this whole file sharing thing to work.
great video macLibrarian - the raSCSI's addition of ethernet networking and small size make this a great replacement for the old SCSI HD20 5.25" external drive on my macPlus. it also offers the intruiging possibility to update the raSCSI's drive content over the network from a modern mac. thxu!
This is a great video, thanks so much! I really liked how you walked through all of the software that was needed on the MacOS side, in order to fully realized the power of the RaSCSI (for example, I didn’t realize that a custom extension was needed in order to do AppleTalk over TCP/IP). When choosing SCSI IDs, do you need to avoid any IDs that are already in use on the primary system? I assume your Color Classic didn’t have an internal drive, which is why you were free to use any SCSI ID?
I just dicoverd this channel and it's really interresting, even for a non Mac user like me. This Return of The Mack chiptune at the end is absolutely rocking! I'd love to know who did it.
I was the one who pitched the idea of you on some Macintosh discord server a year or so ago. Been waiting for this video since. Finally time to watch. RaSCSI is just cool.
Awesome video! I've been on the fence about picking up a RaSCSI, however after watching your video, I'm going to the trigger. P.S. Hahahahaha!!! Christmas Lemmings!!!
By the way, you can make an alias to the Apple File share icon. You can then double click and you're in. You might just have to enter the user, pw each time but it saves a few steps.
Hey im having a problem maybe someone here can help me? I have my RaSCSI connected to my macintosh SE's internal SCSI. It boots beautifully from the provided 6.0.8 image. However, I am attaching more virtual drives (like the bootstrap) and none of them are showing up. I have termination switched on. Can the SE only handle one drive? PLEASE help!! Thank you
Do I need or would you suggest having more than 2GB of ram on the Raspberry Pi? Or is 2GB sufficient? I’m looking to use this on the Color Classic, like you.
Entertaining video. The raspberry pie’s are more and more being used in old computers. I am compared to you a recent Mac user (since 2012). But I have some old pc and laptop ( like RetroTech Chris Compaq LTE series) and a few Commodore Amiga’s. The thing with getting online with old computers is that you have only a few websites which work on the system. Is that so on your systems? Btw I love to see you have games like lemmings, Doom and Pirates!👍👍👍
Thanks to ever changing SSL certificate settings and increased security - our old browsers are no longer compatible with a lot of the web. Thankfully websites like www.frogfind.com and projects like MacProxy github.com/rdmark/macproxy/ can help you access some of the new web
@@MacintoshLibrarian thanks for the 2 websites. I will check them out. Btw how did you get all those classics mac’s? Where I live it is hard to find ones and if there’s one for sale they go for crazy prices (Macintosh classic €200-300 or 225-350 usd).

Just got my PiSCSI working due to this video. Thank you so much!!!
Yay ! Glad it helped ! I need to update this for the “pi scsi” name

What an awesome bit of kit! So many features.
(Also, I’ve always found TCPIP under classic OS a mystery, so this is awesome,e in that regard too)
Great video!
Super cool! I forgot about RaSCSI for a while. Now I need to get one! It will be great for a few videos I have planned for this year around the Mac and possibly other devices. Great job on this video :)
Nicely done! I did not know you could setup an AFP server on a RaSCSI as well (probably everyone knows this though hahaa). Oh and Maccy DOOM @ 21:13 🤣
Really Cool piece of Hardware, Kate!! Thanks for the Video!
Kate and Maccy are back !! Perfect way to start the new year!

Great stuff! I have a RASCSI on its way to me right now for my Amiga! I look forward to seeing what it can do. Fantastic video as always!
Ooo I am excited to see what it can do for the Amiga !

Awesome video Ms. Fox! This is a really cool project!
This is the video I needed on Monday. Thanks!!
Somehow I missed this video, now I'm watching it. Awesome video!
This helped me get up and running on a BlueSCSI equipped Mac SE/30
Seeing the internet run on the color classic was so nostalgic, I'm quite sure these were my first experiences with computers and browsers in elementary school! Hope to one day get ahold of one, and do this whole file sharing thing to work.
Thank you for such an in-depth and informative narrative.
I am glad you enjoyed it!

Great overview. Thanks Kate!
Amazing last video of 2021! 🎉
Great video, Kate! I have a RaSCSI kit that just arrived in the mail and I am looking forward to assembling and playing with it.
RaSCSI, BlueSCSI, GreenSCSI, SCSI2SD AAAAHHHH!! *brain melts down*

This show/channel is so friggin' cute! Maccy is adorable. I wish I had my own.

That's an obscene amount of production value for a 3k channel! Great video..
Wow, thanks! :) i hope to keep growing!
10:20 Maccy Dancing on the Rainbow :D
Very Cool Kate wasnot aware that you had all the options with the RaSCSI
RaSCSI can do anything!
Another excellent video. Thank you for the entertaining and informative content!
Awsome video, maybe I'll get a RaSCSI for my LC !!
Maccy for President!!!
Je n’ai pas tout compris mais… ça m’a l’air bien complet ! J’affectionne le Mac color Classic 😄 Merci pour le partage 👍
On my list now. After I recap my Performa.

Thanks for sharing Frogfind ;)
Open Transport! Boy does that bring back memories of working at Apple.
Nice to learn about Frogfind it will be great for the Amigas maybe not for the C64 though.
Is there a scsi card for an Apple IIe? Trying to decide/find a disk/SD/CF solution..
Wait... Is your outro music a cover of 'Return of the Mack'?!!
aw this is so cool :)

Try the Mister FPGA for early Apple computers. No software emulation, just perfect hardware emulation with zero input lag.
