BNSF 169 Bluebonnet GP60 leads BNSF L-CHI655 in Shattuc, IL - February 24, 2024

North of Centralia lies the small village of Shattuc which at one time hosted two major railroads that crossed at grade. The BNSF Beardstown Subdivision from Galesburg to Paducah, Kentucky crosses CSX's Illinois Subdivision which was taken out of service west of Flora in 2015. The BNSF still sees a handful of trains each day, such as this local heading south towards Centralia from Beardstown with a former Santa Fe Bluebonnet GP60 on the point.
