- The Federal Trade Commission voted to ban non-compete provisions Tuesday, amid stark opposition from the business community. Hurt Competition?? Then why is it called Non-Compete? Always thought Non-Compete restricts the economy and innovation.
Companies are stating they need Non-compete contracts to ensure competition😂
Non-competes are oppressive and restrict the growth of individuals! I work in restoration, I was in need of a job with plenty of opportunities overtime so could eat. After working in that industry for 3 years I had to leave because the company I was working for became toxic. I had no choice but to take a lower paying job in the food industry. After that became unsustainable, I had to return to that toxic work environment and pray that they would even take me back. It’s an unethical and unacceptable business practice that companies use to control workers they otherwise deem expendable.

people forget almost everyone in the trades has a noncompete. if my grandpas furnace breaks down i can be fired for replacing it.
