Having shot some huge pistols myself, it's freaking amazing how good this guy is at shooting these things. Watching him put these things on target with one hand, it doesn't surprise me too much that he's got some kind of world record for shooting .500 revolvers. Those things are incredibly hard to handle and keep on target.

I think it just comes with doing alot of shooting and developing muscles in the fingers and forearm. The proper grip helps also. Jerry Miculek did a video where he rapid fires 5 shots from a 500 mag. Makes it look easy.
@X5J9 You should compete! This guy literally has world records for shooting these things. If you can shoot at this level well enough to call it easy, I'm sure you could easily set a record for some sort of large caliber pistol shooting.

Scott. Yesterday, on 12/23/22, I shot a 500 Smith & Wesson Magnum for the first time in my life. It had an 8 3/8 inch barrel. It was an experience I'm never going to forget. And the reason I'm never going to forget it, is because I'm probably going to save up money and get one, because the experience I had shooting that thing made every other firearm experience I've ever had in my life pale in comparison. It was like another level of gun, like a Zen level. When I squeezed that trigger and that first round went off I literally had to put the gun down and take three or four deep breaths and bathe in the awesomeness I had just been baptized in. I want to personally thank you for inspiring me to grow the cojones I needed to try that thing out for myself. 😀👍

Shooting the 500 one handed is incredibly insane
.500 S&W, 8 -3/8, first gun I ever bought, 2004. Absolutely love it. Carried it around the world. Hardly a day has passed where it's been farther than 5 feet from me over the last 2 decades. Saved my life on 2, maybe 3 separate occasions. Never leave home without it.
What kinda holster do you use
@@oscarbear7498 I'm left handed, so I found a local leather worker and had one custom made. A fairly standard shoulder rig. I can't imagine how expensive that might be these days thanks to inflation.

I think that wasn't a shockwave
But a bullet ricochet from the target to ground
Shrapnel. Any bullet, of any caliber basically disintegrates when it hits a solid target like a steel plate. What you see is the shrapnel going in all directions (radial) from where the bullet hit. The famous "ricochet" in Hollywood movies is basically impossible in real life firearms.
That shockwave could make for another interesting collab with the slow-mo guys
@@alejandroimass3639 IDK about impossible, it really depends on the type of bullet and what you're shooting. Highly unlikely if it's lead even if not hollow point and it's jacketed, but if it's solid copper or something like that they can. I've had some make that zinging ricochet sound but it's not common by any means.

I just want to take a moment to express my appreciation for that difficult cut just after 0:45 when Scooter steps out of and Scott steps into frame. That's not easy to pull off with wind in the trees, but your editing was top notch. I had to actually rewind and replay it just to look for the jump because it was so smooth

@Apex Arena, yeah, that's molten lead. Even if the bullet didn't hit you, the lead spatter would eff you up. You could take the fight out of a perp with the muzzle blast alone with this round, especially with the 4".

With a flat nose like that, i hardly believe it. I think you can reach higher penetration with 7,62 Tokarev, or similar round of C96 for example.

Demo Ranch doesn't know how to shot it. It's not only about strength, look at his hand, he knows how to absorb the recoil smothly. You can't treat 500 magnum as other calibers, by grab it as hard as you can. The harder you try to grab it, the more it will hurt you.
@@oscarshen6855 To be fair, he's also shooting 750 grain bullets. I've never seen anyone shoot 750 grain 500 SW Magnum except him. But even when he's shooting 350 grain bullets, he's definitely making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I fired my first 500 today, as a person who hasn’t gotten the chance to shoot a lot of guns I can say, These videos do not do it justice. The kick isn’t all that, but christ, the blast that comes out of it is so crazy. I felt it in my beard. It was like 2 hours ago and my hand is still vibrating. My hand is telling me it wants to do it again.

There is no such thing as a 115grain 500mag bullet. That was an obvious joke because 115grn is the most common 9mm bullet weight. Learn some gun stuff before parroting jokes as facts
