The Order 1886 is a game I think is deserving to be played and talked about more. I played it years after it released for the first time and was just impressed with graphics and gameplay. Shame too because the ending sets it up with intentions of being a franchise.
100% man, I actually talk about this in my ‘Underrated PS4 Games Vol. 1’ video that I did a few months back. Can’t believe Sony has abandoned it, I think that franchise has a lot more to offer and with a few tweaks could be an incredible series
I just have discovered your videos recently. Great work with them. I find your opinion very informative. Always enjoyable talking about good quality games.
Happy to hear it and thank you very much for saying so! Welcome to the channel, only thing better than talking about games is playing them 😂 Glad you’re enjoying the content 👊🏼
For sure, I think it’s probably in my top 5 of all games from that generation, it was engrossing. Unique, good pacing, great dialogue. It’s just a good play through. That Victorian era, steam punk sci-fi/horror mash up was just wild lol
Great Recommendations! Action games are underrated in general. Some of my favorites on the PS4 are: Dragon Quest Heroes I and II (action Hack and Slash) Earth Defense Force 4.1 and 5 (action 3rd Person Shooter) Metal Wolf Chaos XD (action Mech 3rd Person Shooter) Onrush (action Racer) Rage 2 (action FPS)
Ooh these are great shouts. I’ve had DQ Heroes and Earth Defence Force 4.1 in my backlog for ages! Need to up my game and finally play them. Metal Wolf Chaos I’ve wanted to play for a long time, thank you for reminding me. I actually bought onrush at launch and loved it, played it religiously for about 3 months
With so many sections of game to choose from its hard to find the time to play all these games because I want to play all of these games. 🙌🏾✊🏾🧘🏾♂️🔥🦸🏾♂️💜
it's a shame people still haven't played sleeping dogs nowadays, it's pretty cheap and it's a hell of a great game, one of my favorite games of all time, i think it's the setting, cruising Hong Kong, being this undercover cop and having to deal with it, the voice acting in chinese, even tho i don't understand it, i love it hahaa
You know what’s crazy?! I bought Sleeping Dogs for my PS3 but, never played it. I still have my copy unopened. I then bought it again for my PS4 and it was just there. Feeling the burn from playing GTA V, I glanced and saw the game looking at me and decided to change the pace. I am really loving Sleeping Dogs soooo much that I even uploaded a video over on my channel just showing 3 of my favorite mechanics in the game. Fighting, Racing, and Karaoke!!! And can’t believe you didn’t share the karaoke!?!?! But, you’re right about the gun play. Not so good but, the fighting?!?! I need a sequel to this game, STAT!!!!
It’s so good isn’t it!? I actually didn’t go into too much detail in this video so I think I’m going to cover it again at some point to give the game the justice it deserves 😂 Keep that PS3 copy sealed too! Especially if you now have the remastered version 👍🏼
@@thepolygondon9198 You definitely should dedicate a video for Sleeping Dogs!!! I had no idea just how much it wasn’t a GTA clone. From doing yakuza missions to doing actual police missions and the unique skill trees?!?! Hell, I am having a blast just going around doing the fight challenges around the map and the racing?!?! Need for Speed Underground anyone?? And the mechanics of being able to really ram vehicles off the road, into walls, into other vehicles!?!? It’s mayhem!! Even the parkour is just enough to make it feel unique. I can’t believe I never touched this game until literally this year. And I just found this “Enter the Dragon” location like wit da fuq?!?! How awesome is this!!! And don’t get me started on that red wedding😳 It really got in my feels. I had to put the game down and let it sink in before I could continue. And the gun play isn’t really that bad but, could be better. It’s to bad you can’t keep a pocket Beretta M9 on you at all times. Possibly my biggest gripe. Other than that, overall it’s just amazing. I’m discovering new shortcuts and alleyway in this city. This game is just a blast!!
@VegaRoseForever haha amazing, glad to hear you’re enjoying it as much as I did! In some respects it does a lot of things better than some open world games that have been released this gen. A good games a good game, doesn’t matter when you experience it, I love the fact I’m still finding PS3 games I haven’t played before that still manage to blow my mind 10-15 years later. Times are good 😊
I loved the episode😅 and just wanted to mention how superfun the Saints Row reboot is , just dumb fun, and the fact that I also am a huge Sleeping Dogs fan, Wei Shen is da man
Nice one, glad you enjoyed it! I’ve heard very mixed things about SR reboot. I’ll definitely grab a copy but am waiting for a pretty drastic price drop first. Wei Shen is cool as F, I wish they’d make more games in that series! 🤞🏼
Your video got recommend to me, I thought I'd maybe check it out. I did not expect this level of quality at all, from the video itself, to your commentary and how you really know what you're talking about, to the excellent choices. Really good job, sub earned. 👌🏻
Oh boy, I have all them in my Backlog for some reason. Some of them just went on sale in Amazon and I just bought em because they were cheap and looked interesting. You even made me go look at my games to confirm I actually had them. Imma get to playing them now, your reviews really sparked they hype.
Sleeping dogs is definitely under appreciated. Even by square enix themselves, lol. So much love & effort seems to have gone into that game. I was thrilled when they remastered it for ps4. Really enjoyed the true crime games on the ps2 and this game I believe was supposed to be a reboot of that series. The whole gang/cop action & drama vibe works well for me. And Hong Kong is a setting that’s unique, I hadn’t played a game set there before or since. Great video! And the main menu music is sooo good 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yeah I played True Crime: Streets of LA on GameCube and loved it, I heard somewhere that this was a spiritual successor too. Fantastic game and yes the menu music absolutely bangs in this! Cheers man 👊🏼
Sleeping dogs combat is waaaay deeper than Batman. Batman it literally push analog stick in direction- a child could do that . SD has tons of combos and attacks that require proper timing
On reflection yeah you’re probably right there, I need to cover that game again and go into more detail to be honest. The game deserves all the attention it can get 😂
And ironically, better than Stranglehold! An actual John Woo attached video game (still have a soft spot for Stanglehold actually but there’s no competition between the two)
I 100% agree with number 1! I loved playing definitive edition on my ps5! I got the plat and didn't want to stop playing it so I did the dlc after! Then brought it on ps3 so one day I can get the Plat again as it's so good and I'm so sad that there's no sequel
Wholeheartedly agree! Haven’t heard of Ultra Age before, will check that out shortly, thanks for the heads up! 👊🏼 FIST I absolutely love, I’ve covered that on the channel before, in my ‘Underrated PS4 Games Vol. 1’ video. Outstanding metroidvania with incredible graphics for such a small title 👌🏼
Great list as always! I have to buy evil west actually I totally forgot about it. Also Wanted Dead is an incredible action game that would be a good addition to this list.
@@thepolygondon9198 it's good. I mean it's trashy and very good at the same time.. along the lines of No more heroes. It is very punishing but there is a hidden easy mode u can activate at the beginning by pressing directional buttons in a certain order. Do it when I say it is punishing I mean it but the game is a true hidden gem.
Sleeping Dogs is the "Lies of P" of GTA games, lol. Above than average in everything, and pretty great at others. I remember beating Sleeping Dogs in the PS3, only to skip GTA 5 a couple years later (I always drop GTA 5 around the second or third heist).
I own Sleeping Dogs and have played Gravity Rush and Vampyr and can vouch for all of them. (We'll, Vampyr is a little talky, but still really neat). Scarlet Nexus, Code Vein and Mad Max were all on my radar, but just never got around to. So my thing is, I would have liked to demo some of what I was on the fence on, before forking over my hard earned cash. Being able to sample these games goes a long way for me- which is actually how I took the dive on the three I mentioned. It's a lost practice that needs to come back, but demoing a game makes me a LOT more likely to buy it and play the rest. Anyway, good recommendations.
It is a bit of a lost tradition but I would say it’s better now than it was during the PS3 era. Also, I’m pretty sure Code Vein and Scarlett Nexus have demos available on the PSN store, at least I swear I remember seeing them nearer their release dates, not sure if they’re still downloadable. You might struggle to find a Mad Max demo though, but if it’s any consolation, I still see physical copies go for dirt cheap on eBay and even digitally, it’s always in a few PSN sales throughout the year (I think I’ve seen it for as low as £8). I used to love getting demo discs back in the day tho, sampling a bunch of games I never would’ve been exposed to otherwise. Good times that I don’t think we’ll ever get back. Unless Sony gave out a digital ‘Demo Pack’ of a select few games each month alongside the monthly games, that might be quite cool.
I fell in love with sleeping dogs from the very beginning it is a critically underrated game. But the definitive version is the best version. In my opinion. I also have gravity rush, one I still have not bought two yet but I plan on doing that sometime next year.
Such a good game isn’t it, it still holds up so well! But I’m greedy and would love a shiny new remake for modern consoles! Mad Max is great, hope you enjoy 👊🏼
Great list! I have every one of these but sadly all of them have been on my backlog, except Code Vein & Mad Max. Nice little bit of info -- Code Vein is supposedly loosely connected to the God Eater 3 ... or, rather, is a spin-off of it. I have to get to Sleeping Dogs. I have that physically on the PS3 & the Definitive Edition digitally on the PS4. Might start the PS4 version after I finish Xenoblade Chronicles 3 + add ons.
Nice one mate, glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah working through the backlog is an ongoing effort for me too! Sleeping Dogs is well worth a look, great story and open world! Never played a Xenoblade game but always wanted to, might have to remedy that soon
Indeed! The ever backlog! -- Anyhow, the 1st Xenoblade (Definitive Edition) is my absolute favorite, & I'm also liking X.C.3. (didn't care for the 2nd one, tho, so I watched a story recap instead). Then again, besides liking the story, setting, art direction, & characters the best in the 1st one, its also part nostalgia, 'cause I was involved with the successful Operation Rainfall campaign, to get the 1st game released in the West (on Wii). Well worth it.
Cheers man, hope you enjoy them as much as I did 👍🏼 Funny you should say that about The Surge, that was in the shortlist for this vid but I ended up not including it as I felt it fell more into the RPG category. But tbh I might even do a part 2 to this list as there were loads that didn’t make the final cut Nice one for the sub and welcome to the channel 👊🏼
1 and 2 blardy damn well earned their place.;.... i wish for a sequel, i'll even crowd fund and pre order, which goes against everything i stand for hahahahhah
Didn't get this for the ps4, as I thought this game should stay in the hands of nintendo, but the fact this was a multiplat game spoke volumes for the faith the devs had in Neo TWEWY.
@@thepolygondon9198 I can understand online trophies if it's an online game, but Mad Max is a single player game. Weird that it required an online connection, but I guess there was no other way for the offline scrap collecting. Wished they would have patched it out though after they shut the servers down.
@Witchboard1 yeah totally, that’s what I meant to be fair but I didn’t make it that clear, online trophies for a game with online multiplayer is fine, but why Mad Max or any other single player games have them is a bit silly in my book. Totally agree. Wish they patched that patched that out too
Vampyr kinda sell good enough, so Im waiting for vampyr 2, i just love this game, if someone wondering why the game have a very good narrative its because its from the same company who made life its strange
Stranger of Paradise: FF Origins would be my addition to the list. I could go on about the weapon & class variety, the intense boss fights, awesome special moves, but I'll just say - you powerbomb robots.
😂 that’s another game in my backlog I’ve yet to play. I love souls likes and I love FF so I really don’t know what my problem is haha One day I’ll get round to it 🤞🏼
i put down Scarlet Nexus because of the enemy targeting. they always target me even though my teammates are right next to them but they never ever target them. the only time my teammates got damage was only if the enemy uses an AoE attack and that's it. and yes i know about the team tactical behavior choices but that got nothing to do with how the enemy targets us, which is always me.
Neo The World Ends With You is one of the best JRPG of the generation, a shame so few people even know it exists Scarlet Nexus has a fantastic battle system too, i really want a sequel for this Persona 5 Strikers gotta be the best musou game ever made, so much freedom and depth in the combat
While I like anime but for some reason anime themed games using the same look I have a hard time keeping intertest in the game which is unfortunate but on this list I would say Vampyr is by far the game im constantly talking about and always recommending it to people and cant believe there is so many people who still havent play it yet. Game is amazing, love its story and the combat is even fun. The game is easily replayable too because it depends on what you do throughout the game.
Code Vein really is underappreciated, maybe 2nd among Soulslikes after Lies of P if build variety is important to you. In that respect it's even better than Dark Souls 3. Bosses are very good, enemies really pack a punch and I'd say enemy variety is also pretty good. I like the level design and I don't remember any really enraging areas like you have in most Soulsbornes.
Tokyo Xanadu ex+ is EXTREMELY underrated. It's not a technical masterpiece, and its story isn't exactly the most original. Fine. But the action combat is satisfying, the soundtrack rocks, the cast of characters is fun to watch grow up, and there's a satisfying amount of content on offer. Good thing, too, because the ending flashes a sequel hook, and the sequel has yet to happen. I don't know which is worse: the fact that this was so badly overlooked, or the idea that there could have been more for these characters that now, we won't see.
Tokyo Xanadu is great, I played through it on the Vita but have yet to get the ex+ version on PS4, I do want to at some point. In fact that’s one of my favourite Vita experiences now that I think about it. Great game and solid suggestion! 👊🏼
Yeah Mad Max is a bit of a sleeper hit imo, if it came out literally any other time of the year I think it would’ve made a bigger impact. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Sleeping Dogs is bad ass and ice cold the whole way through 👌🏼
Great video as usual. Ive added one title on this list to my cart so that I wouldn't forget it. Thanks. As for the Sleeping Dogs appeal: (Do you remember that nightclub showdown sequence where you had to fight through it , and your boy boy just goes SIFU while that pulse-pounding hip-hop was playing?) 😄It's the *Style* man, the game is just *cold* ! 🍻
Thanks man! 👊🏼 Yes I do remember that club scene! Whole section was amazing, non stop brawling with killer mood lighting 😂 You’re absolutely right, game is cold as F 🧊
Could be something to do with the licensing and the fact that it didn’t sell all that well in the West maybe? I don’t really know but it’s a damn shame as it’s a great game
I've never been able to stomach anime voice acting. And anime game environments have never tickled my fancy and likely never will, but anime characters look so damn awesome, and the animation is always phenomenal... Except for Jump Force. Not sure what happened there...
Sleeping dogs. Only know this game cos I got a free copy of it on steam with a radeon HD 7970 graphics I bought long long ago. Still never played it lol

Damn I thought Evil West was just on PS5 loved it btw.
I fell in love with sleeping dogs from the very beginning it is a critically underrated game. But the definitive version is the best version. In my opinion. I also have gravity rush, one I still have not bought two yet but I plan on doing that sometime next year.
Sleeping Dogs is one of my top 10 favorite games of all time. I'm definitely going to have to give Mad Max a try, though!
Such a good game isn’t it, it still holds up so well! But I’m greedy and would love a shiny new remake for modern consoles! Mad Max is great, hope you enjoy 👊🏼
Good voice, well paced and informative video and you seem genuinely passionate about these games. Love it, subbed.
Thanks man 👊🏼
true a few of these games are overlooked great games
@FreeRPGer Amazing! A man of the people! Thanks for putting the work in dude 👊🏼 I will get round to trying them out but god knows when 😅
Dope video I have all of these except vampyr
Scarlet nexus is freaking beautiful with a catchy theme song!!!!😍
i played all of this games u mentioned , damn my taste on video games are very niche i think 😅
Nice list. Gonna give Sleeping Dogs & Mad Max a go. For me I'd put The Surge on the list too. Thanks & subbed
Cheers man, hope you enjoy them as much as I did 👍🏼
Funny you should say that about The Surge, that was in the shortlist for this vid but I ended up not including it as I felt it fell more into the RPG category. But tbh I might even do a part 2 to this list as there were loads that didn’t make the final cut
Nice one for the sub and welcome to the channel 👊🏼
Damn, I own almost all of them!!
Guess I'm kinda of a "weirdo"? 🤣🤣🤣 (Still missing "Neo" and "Evil West" though
Sleeping dogs was bad ass. Truly loved that game and the Bruce Lee dlc.
Yo whats the game in ur intro with the pixel art and a boss called Thalo Conatrus? Thank u
That would be Star Renegades, incredible game! I actually showcase more gameplay and my thoughts on the game in my ‘PS4 Hidden Gems: Vol. 3’ video 👍🏼
Thanks man, looks great. im gonna check it out right away ;) @@thepolygondon9198
23:40 that cat tail is attached on her left buttcheek instead of middle of her buttcheeks is funny :)
Solid list
I buyed literally all games on the list but haven't the time to play 1/4 of all the games. But what I played was fun.
I recently completed Mad Max. Awesome game, but unfortunately no longer able to platinum due to the servers being taken down.
Oh no that sucks! Hate it when that happens (I’m not a huge a fan of online trophies in general though tbh)
Wish they patched that patched that out too
Puppeteer turned out to be my favorite game of 2023. If Gravity Rush is from the same developer, Im sure it's worth at least to try it.
These games weren't ignored it's just that most PS gamers don't care for games like those which is a total shame.
I care……….. I….. care…….
Hard disagree. PS gamers are the main audience for stuff like this. The problem is more that everyone has become obsessed with AAA only.
@@robchuk4136 Noticed I said "Most" PS gamers not all of them sweetheart Lol.
What about Sleeping Dogs which is basically GTA Hong Kong?
@@welton9748 I liked that game, but due to GTA popularity it didn't sold too well
I played all of these except NEO ...which I actually own but it's on the backlog 😅
It’s a classic backlog game 😂 was on mine for ages too but great once you get into it 👍🏼
Vampyr kinda sell good enough, so Im waiting for vampyr 2, i just love this game, if someone wondering why the game have a very good narrative its because its from the same company who made life its strange
Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
evil west is awesome
Yeah maaaan… “Sleeping Dogs “ is criminally underrated and a must have in anyone’s gaming library ‼️🤨 This game very well deserves a sequel.
anyone has a list of the games from the intro of this video???
Played most of these titles and still playing Lost Paradise...Evil West has been on my radar just haven't managed to snag a copy yet coz Backlogs 😂
This year alone has extended my backlog by 100%, the struggle is real! 👊🏼
Stranger of Paradise: FF Origins would be my addition to the list. I could go on about the weapon & class variety, the intense boss fights, awesome special moves, but I'll just say - you powerbomb robots.
😂 that’s another game in my backlog I’ve yet to play. I love souls likes and I love FF so I really don’t know what my problem is haha
One day I’ll get round to it 🤞🏼
i put down Scarlet Nexus because of the enemy targeting. they always target me even though my teammates are right next to them but they never ever target them. the only time my teammates got damage was only if the enemy uses an AoE attack and that's it. and yes i know about the team tactical behavior choices but that got nothing to do with how the enemy targets us, which is always me.
I didn’t notice but now that you mention it! 🧐
Hopefully that’s something they address if a sequel ever sees the light of day
Don don! ❤love it
Neo The World Ends With You is one of the best JRPG of the generation, a shame so few people even know it exists
Scarlet Nexus has a fantastic battle system too, i really want a sequel for this
Persona 5 Strikers gotta be the best musou game ever made, so much freedom and depth in the combat
Scarlet Nexus was criminally underrated
Bro sleeping dogs was one of the best games ive played
While I like anime but for some reason anime themed games using the same look I have a hard time keeping intertest in the game which is unfortunate but on this list I would say Vampyr is by far the game im constantly talking about and always recommending it to people and cant believe there is so many people who still havent play it yet. Game is amazing, love its story and the combat is even fun. The game is easily replayable too because it depends on what you do throughout the game.
Vampyr is such an underrated game, I really really hope they return to it and make a sequel 🤞🏼
Yeah I think a lot of people write it off for its anime art style tbh which is a massive shame as the gameplay is definitely there
I love sleeping dog
Just play scarlet nexus. Its a fun game. What more can you ask for. Evil west as well
I hate that we'll never get a Sleeping Dogs sequel.
Same! 😔
I will definetly buy Mad Max , looks great. By the way I`m a big fan of Sleeping Dogs , that game is way better than GTa, the story, the gameplay.
Yeah Mad Max is a bit of a sleeper hit imo, if it came out literally any other time of the year I think it would’ve made a bigger impact. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Sleeping Dogs is bad ass and ice cold the whole way through 👌🏼
IDK where you get your informations but Evil West was a success stated by their own PUBLISHER.
Thanks man! 👊🏼
Yes I do remember that club scene! Whole section was amazing, non stop brawling with killer mood lighting 😂
You’re absolutely right, game is cold as F
🧊
The game has MAD charisma. And, yeah, You da' man, thepolygondon. Keep it up.
I am surprised why saga keep ignoring Fist of the north star ps4 game even its not getting a pc version
For mad max I think fallout 4 came out shortly b4 it released
Sleeping dogs. Only know this game cos I got a free copy of it on steam with a radeon HD 7970 graphics I bought long long ago. Still never played it lol
Well worth checking out imo, still holds up really well 👌🏼
I played 6 and own 8 of those. It's really not my fault 😅
All of them are my favourite games. I dont go with the hype.
I tyruly wish Sleeping Dogs would receive a sequel, best GTA Like I ever played.
Same! 👊🏼
super zobacz co ja nagrywam
When I saw this title, I immediately thought about this game!
A man who never eats pork bun is never truly a whole man.
“Why don’t you have a pork bun in your hand?.. You look like you could use a pork bun”
you still dont fck in sleeping dogs, right? not even fade to blacknothing?
lmao in Vampyr when i couldnt beat the last boss, i said fuckin them and bit every body in the entire game 😂😂😂
Hahaha
Sleeping dogs plays in 60 fps of the Xbox One X and up
