The dynamic dual how two people made such a major impact on the city they are truly the heart of rock and roll Jeff and flash we miss you rock on Brothers Rock on
Ironically it was a former Malrite exec-Carl Hirsch's OmniAmerica-that bought WMMS from Roy Disney's Shamrock outfit, which led to this; Shamrock had purchased all of Malrite's radio assets in the wake of the 1992 recession.
Yes, their jokes were corny, but these djs were pioneers. They are still beloved today. Unfortunately, radio lost all personality and uniqueness as the corporate number crunchers were placed in charge of “talent” and programming. Dud.
Tower city, I did the change over, I signed off, Statler office tower, original location of mms, and logged into the tower city location in the terminal tower location, that they show here.
Remember the elevator at Stadler Office Tower? Had a human operator. Used to take it. I had a high school internship at WMMS in '82. Man did I feel cool.
Someone down there in the comments mentioned how s***** WMMS is now. they must have gone through their early life listening to another radio station. The personalities at this Cleveland station stunk for real radio everybody knows you go to khj in Los Angeles or wrif in Detroit maybe even a little something out of Canada however they had great music but that was just because there was great music to be played then personalities were horrible news programming was horrible in my opinion the entire station sucked
