- It's been a tremendous honor to be an Executive Producer and to work on this film, Lost in America. It is a subject that is so dear to my heart. I was homeless for a year when I was 18 --I started living in my car because a boss withheld my pay check when I refused his sexual advances. When my car got stolen things got more difficult from there. The issue of homeless youth is important, misunderstood and overlooked. I was so moved as I was working on this film, that I was inspired to write a song for the youth I came to know through the process. It was a transformative experience to see the film come together and to write this song and be able to record it. It's all of our jobs to make sure that there are no more youth that are lost in America.

Just discovered this amazing song on lockdown while revisiting all the great hits of the 90's including Jewel's and it brought tears in my eyes. realized how lucky we are to help one another and happy to know people like Jewel surpassed these trials. I too have been lucky to see her twice in concert. She's always sounded amazing- like the studio version, but it was obviously a live performance.
This song is freakin GREAT, and gives me the same vibes as her sophomore album, Spirit, and especially the song Hands.
Jewel never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful songs and her wonderful spirit of always being there to help others. She is absolutely one of the best entertainers in this world, who always gives everything she has into all of her quests. I'm sure she will continue to help the down trodden as she goes onward in this world of unpredictable times. God bless her.

Beautiful, heard for the first time today July 30, 2023; amazed! And saddened, proves the state of music is so degraded, if this song had come up 30 years ago it would have been a #1 hit throughout this country.
My favorite artist singing a song about the thing that I am most passionate about, after spending time homeless myself. This is beautiful and is reflective of her struggles of living in her car and playing music on the streets for money. Now she uses her amazing voice and song writing skills to help others. She is truly and incredible human being and I love her.
I didn’t know she had all this agility and melisma in her voice. She really has a lot of tools in her tool kit.

Like ships passing in the night our paths crossed without me recognizing who she was at first, until recently. I was trying to make my way back home to Sacramento when in the CORNER OF MY EYE I saw an angel and we locked eyes, smiled, and stared at each other like an old song, we both turned our heads ad kept looking back to see if you were looking to see if you’re looking back at me. I don’t believe in coincidence. I feel compelled to build something here in my community to help the homeless. I don’t how this story is going to unfold. I seek knowledge, truth and have absolute compassion for humanity. These kids do our need help.

What some people may not know is Jewel was homeless and struggled coming up living out of a car. I was in rehab 1994 Christmas 🌲🎁 time i won't ever forget. Seeing her video on music channel and seeing her story and success since. You always one my favorite female vocalist are perfect.
Jewel has a angelic voice and a caring heart like no other. I'm is nice for her to share an important part of her life for others to hear and share with everyone in the world who is going through the same thing right now. But everyone has a choice in their life to make or break any situation they are in, because I can't fathom what it is like for them, but there are people that can help you instead of living on the streets like your parents, a counselor, someone who will listen to you and try to help you the best way they can. But you have to take the first step to better yourself, because like the saying goes God helps who help themselves. Be strong, have faith and believe in yourself to make things better. I'm sorry Jewel but only you can change your life for the better and be willing to go all in.
