I'm honestly impressed w how far his doom/dissonance sound has taken him. That being said, I saw AIC & Korn 4-5 years ago, and it was definitely one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
But what if they weren't? What if their music tastes kinda changed a bit and they didn't really care all that much for it? Nobody can hypothesis what dead people may or may not like or think. Such a goofy thing to do.
I always appreciate Jerry Cantrell staying loyal to his musical roots while putting a new spin on the grunge/rock genre. I haven't heard any other musicians that don't practically switch genres at some point. Love his solo work especially!

For some reason I can hear a fusion of Jerry and Layne here! 😮 As if Layne is living on the inside of him like if there's an echoe of his voice coming out of Jerry I might be going nuts don't mind me 😅
It isn't just you, Brother. You can hear Layne's essence all over this song. This is the most AIC thing I've heard since he was still with us. Thank you, Jerry.
What you're probably hearing is what you THINK was Layne. In his Gibson Legends interview, right here on YT, Mr. Cantrell explains that a lot of times on the AiC records the vocals people think are Layne are actually Jerry and vice versa. Their voices were/are a lot more similar than most people realize and Jerry does not get the credit he deserves for his vocal performances in AiC, especially towards the end when he was basically carrying Layne. No offense, and I hope I didn't ruin your enjoyment of this song or AiC, I just wanted to point that out as I find it very interesting - and I feel it's somewhat important to set the record straight on this.

Yeah that Les Paul is from Degradation Trip. He used to put cigarettes out on it and that's where all the spots are from. I met him during that tour and got his autograph and stood right in front of him while he played that Les Paul. Degradation Trip was incredible. Psychotic Break is probably my favorite song from it.
