I have this plane. The gyro is awful on any setting. The LG is fiddly and disconnects a lot. For light balsa and depron it flies like it’s too heavy. Not a fun plane to fly. But the dual brushed motors are surprisingly strong for a 1s plane! Here’s what I did to make the plane more flyable. I disconnected the flaps from the landing gear mechanism and locked them in as fixed dropped flaps. That made the plane feel much more locked-in when flying, and also helped prevent tip stall in turns. I still have to add throttle in turns though, but not as much. No gyro is the only way to go as well. (The first gyro setting makes it feel unstable, and full gyro makes it completely unflyable. It won’t even turn!) I’m still tweaking it, determined to make it more enjoyable to fly. Just dropping fixed flaps helped a lot! I have the BNF and fly off a Spectrum DX6e. I can’t imagine flying it off the junk RTF tx….lol.
I'm just a beginner, but it seems to that this plane's problems begin with the lack of counter-rotating props. Even the best gyro stabilization might be overwhelmed by the torque of two motors/props rotating in the same direction. Some of the other features - Nav lights, retracts, flaps - are impressive. But if it doesn't fly well it's an expensive show piece.
