Jon Jones won the main belt off Gane who has 1 win against a Top 5 heavyweight (Volkov), it was effectively a cherry pick for Jones while Tom has knocked out Pav and Blaydes out fast back to back who are two of the best in the division and Pavolich was on a crazy KO run and Aspinall took it on a 2 week notice.... It's actually a absolute joke Jones isn't stripped or made to fight Aspinall next over Stipe.
Should be Tournament in every division. The LW; WW division especially. It’s hilarious how talks for the tournament is always brought up . Bellator held great tournaments

@@DynastyIcon Stipe Miocic is 41 years old. He has been inactive for three years and his last fight was a brutal KO loss to Francis Ngannou. He's the heavyweight GOAT and I love him but his time has passed. Jones vs Miocic is not and will never be a big fight because Jones is 5 years younger and not a full time public servant.

He went to heavyweight because old man Jon's reflexes weren't quick enough for the 205ers anymore after barely escaping Thiago Santos and being the beneficiary of a Reyes robbery. It's the equivalent of an elite euroleague soccer player coming to MLS before people realize his production slipped, or an NBA player retiring 1-2 years early and going to play overseas and put up inflated stats. The heavyweights are good but they're not as technical and they're not as quick and both of those benefit an aging 205er, especially when he can cherry pick easier opponents and avoid the heavyweights who do have the technical skills and speed to keep up with a 205er moving up.

Sandhagen vs Nagomedev. Corey seemed to be a weakling in the striking dept. His physically weaker stature was responsible for his loss. Corey was reticent, afraid to follow single strikes with combination punches or kicks, when he knew he was down in scoring. He was ,understandably, afraid of getting into a brawl, for fear of getting knocked out. A title fight should have demanded more from Sandhagen. I know, easy for me to say! But I’m saying it.

A fighter in defeat like this should never reveal "why they lost". It comes across as an excuse and shows an exploitable weakness. He touted hiring a sleep specialist to prep him for this, now reveals in essence his "sleep training failed and he was tired" meanwhile other fighters on the same/similar time zone fought well and won (Tom). Leon better off just saying "the better man won tonight, congrats to Belal". Now Leon's opponents definitely know how he can be defeated and can somehow train to exploit this. It's like when he was sluggish fighting at high altitude against Kamaru til he thre.uo the hail mary. Again fighters can find a way to exploit his conditioning/lack of.
