How could anyone live through that without front or all wheel drive, ABS, SRS like air bags, heated seats and steering wheels, his and hers climate control, bluetooth, mp3, GPS navigation, hands free phones, and remote start? Back in my day we called it Michigan winter driving. Now kids think it's a cool motorsport called "drifting". Sad.

Oh come on I used to drift the hell out of my ‘73 Comet! ...as my teeth chattered!🤣❄️

I remember two things back then - two wheel drive trucks, so put snow in the back to put weight on drive wheels
And stud tires / chains. Probably not so much appreciated now!
I was very young in the late 70s - if you lived in a rural area, unless you were driving some distance to work, we didn't "go out and do so many things" far away - going into town or the next town over was about it.

This video is much later than 1965. The video refers to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and to PennDOT. PennDOT did not come into existence until 1970. Prior to 1970, it was the Pennsylvania Department of Highways.

Right at the start, a mid-70's Dodge......Just what you'd expect from the state.......can't even get the years right within a decade. (and these are the dipsticks telling us to put on our face diapers cause they work!)

This video was likely filmed in the mid 70's. Most of the vehicles are from the 70's including many of the pickup trucks that are featured.

Yeah, there was one scene where there was a truck with a blower on it that looked as though the driver was clearing snow from a city park or ballfields or something. I guess that's more important than cleaning the interstate, toll roads and U S highways. Used to drive a commercial vehicle up and down the toll roads of Pennsylvania and my deliveries were always late due to snow and packed snow on the toll road and U S highways. Again, I guess clearing snow from the park roadways and roadways around the ballfields were more important.

I can't believe the age of some of the workers in this video...now a days they would all be in their late 20's & 30's and fat with tons of tattoo's - they looked like they were in the 60's and older in this video.
