    I'd add if you are a new shooter or new to guns; wear closed toe shoes 👞👟 or boots NOT flip flops, heels. You can slip or stumble while holding a loaded gun. Also; avoid wearing open collar, V neck style shirts: tank tops. 👎🏻. Hot cases or shells can fly directly down your open collar or burn your neck, chest, arms. A 🧢 is smart too. This can block bright sun ☀️ or the brim can shield your face, eyes from cases-grit, gun smoke, etc...

    Good job. Looking forward to the range in Helena opening back up

      I'm not so good in english, so could you lighten me and explain what looking forward to the range in Helena opening back up actually means?

      @dexm2010 4 года назад +4

      @ Hannu Koistinen obviously this is an old comment by now, but in case you were still wondering, the phrase "looking forward to" is another way of saying, "I am eagerly anticipating" something (in this case, he is eagerly anticipating the range in Helena becoming available again for use).

    At 1:10, the guy is pointing directly at his neighbor and isn't even looking where his pistol is pointing. He looks totally clueless!!!

      I know. I can't believe they included this clip in a 'gun range etiquette' video. They should have removed that part. Wow!

      Legend of the Stormlord I thought the same thing. Let’s showcase the guy doing the worst thing possible at the range!!

      Yeup yes sir. If a range safety officer saw him do that at my local shooting range he is getting screamed at, scolded and pulled away for 30 mins. even possibly causing a ceasefire for everyone else and then getting reamed out for his ineptitude. In my area, everyone is for gun control. As in know how to control your firearm. And i totally support that. You should too, gun control protects peoples safety.

    Very well done video! I am only surprised that ear and eye protection are "strongly recommended" instead of "required." I also observe that no mention is made of ear or eye protection in the posted range rules. Does this "strong recommendation" open the state of Alabama to legal repurcussions in the case of an ear or eye injury while at the range? Just an observation. I do like the video- very good.

    • @OutdoorAlabama
      @OutdoorAlabama  7 лет назад +13

      Because these ranges are unmanned, we cannot enforce the requirement. That is why we strongly recommend. Glad you liked the video.

      so why not ccw holders we pay are money to the state to? i live in bham i like to visit and see the ranges near me. i just think ranges charge way to much money to enjoy the sport of shooting

      To access a state range like the one in this video, a state hunting license or wildlife heritage license is all that is needed. The wildlife heritage license is less than $12 a year.

    Good video 👍💻📹🎞🚨... other good tips; use clean, safe firearms. Keep range or lane areas clean or free of trash, spent cases-shells, if possible: keep a lane or 2 apart for safety, privacy, report any damage-broken items-problems to the range safety office or game commission, do not have animals, small kids or any thing that might distract or interfere with other shooters/range users. Do not field strip, clean weapons while on a live range.

    RUclips "This Range is genuinely 100% safe." Otherwise it could never have been built. Think outside the box Alabama. We're running out of large acreage conveniently located. What can be learned from a country that has shooting ranges every 10 miles.

    • @RockandrollNegro
      @RockandrollNegro 3 года назад +2

      I agree. We need ranges every half mile apart. 10 miles is too far.

    • @justdave9783
      @justdave9783 3 года назад

      The ranges are constructed and maintained by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The hunting, fishing and wildlife heritage licenses help fund that. CC permits are issued by the county you live or vote in and are not connected to ADCNR.
