Week 2 of my #SongwritingChallenge was to write a pop/punk song. Here's a video explaining how I did it!

The lyrics to this are actually pretty clever, this isn’t overly generic , deserves more credit imo
You didn't mention her in the video, but i can absolutely hear some Avril Lavigne in those lyrics. It's almost as if the SK8er Boi was actually a nerdy boy who played tony hawk rather than actually skate boarding hahaha

My favourite part of the song has to be how you sound saying "If you could see me No-ooww, hit the nail on the head with a lot of the Pop/Punk cliches and think you showed that really well in the song. Pretty decent for a week's work. Hope you stay consistent with these videos, just don't get too "Naughty" ;)

You look like a young Javier Blake, who is the frontman of División Minúscula, one of Mexico's main pop punk bands (they play more alternative stuff now but they started as pop punk).
Dude you are energetic as HECK!! Loved the editing, loved how wrong you are all the time, and learned a little somthing too.

Awesome, great job! It was really fantastic how you broke down the technical features of the song. I would have to say this is actually true 'pop punk', as opposed to melodic skate punk/melodic punk that is often labled as pop punk. What you did here is really not any style of popular rock, nor is it any style of punk, but a blend of both. I'm not sure if you really meant that or it just came out because of your musical tastes, but either way your video is majorly underrated.
Turbo Head - lol. There's some dodgey names on those Logic Presets, even on Apple Loops too! haha. Great video man. Loved how the song sounded when it all came together.

Sick video! The only part i didnt understand was where you said you played bass in chorus in a drop D. Why would you do that if you still wanna play the same bass notes (roots of chords)?

Which app did you use? And can you give me some advice to not raise or to not lower the volume too much, because I just started to create a song punk rock/ pop punk and I have some problem to recording the guitar track for the volume and the sound. I use Garage Band ( the app that you use seems like it but it's not identical) and I try to recording with the guitar connected to pc (MacBook Pro) with a USB and usually it's always worked but this time my hears are completely destroyed for the volume and I can't found a sound like a pop punk/punk rock and I have a multi-effect pedal! I try also to recording with the amplifier connected on guitar and recording with the phone but it's too worse. I don't know what to do :( ( sorry for my English but I am learning it in this time )
