Technically you'd be right unless they do the entire story the same but thematically it's essentially a remake
@@Ash_Wen-liIt's not based on the same time period, this one takes place directly after the war in 1947 so they haven't got the time to recover from the war yet, the original took place in 1954 when you can argue that Japan was already recovering from the war. Similar premise, they both come more across as a movie about war instead of a movie about monsters... And in the end that's what Godzilla is supposed to be so, we will see.

I remember the first time I watched a Godzilla movie, it was back in 1997, I was 5 years old, it was Heisei's Godzilla vs King Ghidorah, it was such a blast for me, of course I didn't get the deeper meaning of the movie(5 years old, duh), but since then, I became addicted to the G-man, for me the best Godzilla movie so far has been Shin Godzilla, but this one, this one has serious potential to topple that based on this trailer alone(the trailer showed on my feed 5 min after it was released), we are truly living in a great time for being a Godzilla fan, when you want a serious-toned Godzilla movie you can watch the original, Shin Godzilla, when you want to watch a stupid, fun all out monster brawl, you can watch the monsterverse movies, Final Wars, Destroy All Monsters... Also, Toho has moved up so far on its effects, Godzilla just seems perfect in this trailer, I know that he will always be remembered as "a guy in a rubber suit", but holy crap look at the realism!!!
Love the movies where Godzilla is the villain, like Shin, GMK, vs Mothra, 85, and Tokyo SOS!
This is gonna be one heck of a Christmas this year

Fully agree with Shin Godzilla being a one and done; I’m seeing some people say ‘they should’ve done a Shin Godzilla sequel instead,’ and I just don’t agree with that. Really hope this does well so even if it’s also a standalone maybe we get a new Millennium era with a bunch of stand alone films!
On a side note I bet this movie is about the US military saying "We can kill it everyone stand back" and then they dont lol.
That would be interesting if it turned out to be true. We already know the U.S. is involved in this story. This has been confirmed not only by the scene at 0:56 but also by a scene in the previous teaser where we see a letter from Douglas MacArthur addressed to the Prime Minister of Japan concerning a huge sea creature spotted in the Pacific Ocean that appears to be heading right towards Japan. December 1st can't get here soon enough!
I saw Godzilla 2004, Shin Godzilla in theaters so I'll be hype to see G-1 in the biggest theater possible!
The director, Takashi Yamazaki, is probably most well-known for his Always: Sunset on Third Street trilogy if you want something to watch to give you an idea of what he can do. Set in the 50s because he loves his period pieces and you even get a Godzilla cameo in the second one.
I was blessed I lived in an area and grew up at an age where I was able to watch many of the old Godzilla movies on the big-screen but we're talkin 1975 to 1978 and all the different Godzilla movies that were available from 54 up to that point played at that theater

I recommend Archimedes' War for director Yamazaki's work.
The cgi of the Battleship Yamato roaring down at the beginning is wonderful and the story is also worth watching.
I still haven’t seen Shin Godzilla yet but it’s definitely on my radar. This one however looks to be trying to rivaling the original in terms of its social message and Dark Themes and overall filmmaking quality.
Shin Godzilla is an amazing film. The creator of neon genesis evangelion directed it.
@@l.-._.-._.-._.-._.-.l having watched both NG Eva and Shin Godzilla, Shin Godzilla is the way better product of the two, I mean, anything is better than anything Evangelion related(my opinion), Shin Godzilla is simply... Wow. You don't see an angry creature, you just see a lost and confused "something", a thing that shouldn't exist, trying to adapt to a world that rejects it both in physics and ideology while in extreme pain and suffering the whole freaking time, then there's the human side of it too, the race to find a solution to try to stop such abomination before extreme measures are taken, its such a complex movie, it involves the aberration's(Godzilla) struggle, humanity's fear and trauma, freaking bureaucracy that only screw things over and ultimatums...
Seeing this has got me MORE excited for December 1st!

Fuck yea, this trailer was so dope! I'm so excited for this movie! It looks like they really went really hard on the attack scenes. I always said that we need to see regular citizens get messed up more and it looks like this more is going to deliver on that front!
I agree that the end shot makes it looks like we'll see Godzilla get nuked in this movie!
And yea, both G2K and Shin saw Western theatre releases, I was fortunate enough to catch both in the theatre, and I wont miss this one!

Shin godzilla is fricken dope...anno from evangelion helped work on it. Supposedly a bunch of gruesome horror elements were cut from it as well...it was going to be much more violent. Wish they had kept that og cut think you can find some scenes out there still

I think that even if I started all this commenting thing because I hate watching decent folk like you so unfairly down I have kept watching you all as somekind of "Truman Show" movie. Like a crazed videogame fictional character said: Mirrors are more fun than Television. Meaning that real life and therefore real characters and their real lifes can be as entertaining as fictional ones but needless to say that can become kinda creepy and unhealthy like the situation depicted in the forementioned movie for both sides (the audience and the protagonist/s of the show). That's why it's better to let this end. I truly think you will keep it up with or without your mother, Godo's Flame, dreams or whatever just like you have been doing until now but to do so you will have to both work hard and relax while bearing some boredom and pain from time to time (like the next goddamn three months. @@@. darn it all) as well as some happy exciting moments every now and then but you will make it. You are a Taurus remember ? Regardless of what you do or achieve you are a good honest fellow and that's what matters the most to build that paradise you spoke off in that great video of yours. If you are not interested don't worry I have two more potential flames living in the States but in no way I will write them nothing. Oh, and you could do specials reviewing demon reencarnations or ending world movies in the comming new years eves. Oh, and regarding new year eves sorry for the Prince of Darkness movie joke but even if the movie was lousy just watching it to see Mr. Miyagi kicking some @@@ again it was well worth it. Oh, and regarding you considering your genetics lousy, yesterday I saw a rather popular movie back in the 90' which said light-eyed people have better night vision than dark-eyed individuals. I don't know if it's true though. Oh, and about muscle growing I saw a documentary (maybe it was fake though) explaining gladiators fed mostly on legumes (completely unfatty, therefore more healthy and efficient for adults to become pure muscle than meat or eggs, equally protein suply than meat or fish, cheaper and even more satiating than meat or fish, but untasteful therefore unpleasing as @@@ as well as fart factories). Oh, and you or anyone else sometimes need heavy metal energy simply bc you are lacking your own. Stop ! don't feel bad with yourself for it ok? We all need food to get energy to live an no one feels bad for it. Ok, maybe some need more energy than others or some need an specific type of energy to function but having in mind that we all are different therefore with different needs I don't think needing or not needing heavy metal be so bad nor so good. It just IS.

Well, it is done. The four months have passed. The path is clear from the three months blinding/obsessive feelings (Fallout 2 - Soundtrack - "All-Clear Signal"). It is your turn to move now. To her. To Morda. If you want. You are free after all. Remember don't be too tough with yourself ok. You are already doing it right. Don't get too obsessed with the quality of your videos. Things like burning your own @@@ with coffee or that spinning flying kick can be as efficient (cost less and give more) or even more here on RUclips's strange dimension (a cute cat purring + talking about @@@jobs = 100 dollars ?! people are wacked these days I tell you) than deep exhausting analysis of old movies or mangas no one knows about (pity you can't risk doing more flying kicks bc you lack the safety net, the health insurance to do so). Maybe you could inspire yourself from what/how other more successful youtubers do in their channels. If you still want to do a movie I think your best option would be as a collaborator with an already stablished studio as a scripter or some other job and learn/making contacts from them.
During your journey, wherever it may be (physically, emotionally, etc.) perhaps a song I liked when I was young that came to my mind recently could be useful to you somehow (it's about a dangerous travel to an allegedly paradise but in the end the protagonist realizes the so called paradise was not so great at all and that the best place to be is in his humble home). It came to my mind after a youtuber musician made his own version of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" when I told him I had to leave just as I am leaving now. It's the uh, mh, barbarian Finish version of an old patriotic British song. It's full of those gutural voices you like so much and even has a flute. A bit too warmongering (encouraging disgraceful wars between nations or other collectives) for my taste now but what someone would expect from Battle Metal after all. That's why even back then in my youth I already tended to favour Power Metal much more. The last one simply empowers people. What people do with that power it's entirely up to their own widsom or ignorance and goodness or evilness. That being said maybe even Battle Metal could still be useful if them lyrics were to be interpreted as battles against inner fears or frustations or something like that instead as battles against other individuals or collectives. Anyways, the darn song was Turisas's "The Land of Hope and Glory". (I also would recommend you Dragon Force's "Soldiers of the Wasteland" but you surely won't like that acute feminine voice much).
Oh, and if you now or in the future feel sad know that if someday someone is able to prove scientifically that the Universe is an entire living being (I can assure you it is. it is just a bigger part of a pattern we see every day. our living cells make our living organs which make our living bodies which make our living ecosystems which make our living planet which makes with the other living planets our living Universe) you and me (and others who thought/think the same) will be remembered forever just as we remember now that thousands of years ago some people invented the wheel or mastered fire. After all a Taurus like me would never had been able to come up with the Living Universe idea (plus humans being its nerve endings) without you saying the Universe is experiencing itself through us nor without another youtuber saying that our existence, our purpose, is to have human experiences to allow a greater divine entity which all of us are a part off, to experience itself (we earth based Taurus are not precisely the most imaginative tools in the shed. though we are still able to connect some "dots" and with our earth based high perseverance we can still merge them all to create kinda THE THING and be creative on our own way). Ok, we will not be remembered ourselves as individuals, only our souls (feelings and ideas) bc only them can be effectively immortal (or infinite as you say) but at least better our souls than nothing (I don't know if it's true or not but someone once told me that curiously even the Bible says that when we die no one can really recognize no one be either them in hell or in heaven....). Ok, as you said also the basic elements from our bodies like carbon or magnesium are immortal or infinite but well, in my opinion all of them are just meh compared to our human feelings and ideas. Maybe I only think this way bc, even if some doubt it comparing me to vampires, A.I chatbots, ghosts and whatnot, I'm just a human being but I can't help it (no one can). That being said though we must admit humbly that our feelings and ideas could not even exist without the basic elements so in the end all matters and is valuable on its own way. All is one and one is all. After all.
Oh, and thanks for your uh, mh, "feedback". Thanks to it you have shown to me that I can also empale souls as the one who empaled mine in January 2022 while being covid confined encouraging me to empower sad people who I considered worthy here on RUclips. Obviously the result has not been what I had expected (this happens to us clumsy and dumb Taurus a lot but we don't give a @@@ and we just keep going). I thought my comments would either had no effect or make people happier but never I would have imagined any of what has happened could ever had been possible. @@@, know that now there are two couples more broken (four in total) and one of them are two lesbians ?! Needless to say I won't try to make happier anyone anymore unless I want/can start a relation with them. I can assure you that traumatizing furthermore already traumatized people living in the other side of the world who speak a diificult language for me to understand it's not what I had in mind when I started all this in July 2022. At least this surely will make you feel a little bit better. Everything is relative (Einstein's Relativity Theory. too bad he being a socialist like me will ensure Hollywood never will produce a movie about him). We simply are taller or shorter or richer or poorer or more evil or more good than others (hell, even science has proven that acidic substances literally "behave" chemically as bases if you mix them with something more acidic than them). Knowing others are faring worse than us can effectively make us feel that we are not faring so bad or at least give us some relief that we are not the only dorkish dorks around. For example take a look at my chanel. After all my efforts to try to make some people happy by unraveling the mistery of Schnoz's existence itself and the only thing I have accomplished is a bunch of depressed abandoned individuals and a teen russian chick subscriber (I think is a teen for the kind of dozens of chanels she/he is subscribed to but it could be a man or an old woman or a Polish or who knows who though). Weee !! What an Empire uh? I think I will call it Petitonia or Gegantonia. I'm not sure yet. Sigh. Jokes a side: @@@.
