This is a great "wall of sound" Phil Spector type song, which has the unmistakable "Gold star" studio sound. If it were recorded in another studio it probably wouldn't have sounded quite as good. Robins voice really is very unique, but I like it. This kind of production with heavy percussion and a large string section might be too much for some people but imo its a great song. Everything just fits together so well, it's like clockwork. And the sha la la- las as backing vocals give it a really nice subtle but driving sound.
A sincere Thank You,Anthony...for this great obscurity and all your other great uploads. I could listen to Robin's dreamy voice forever.....she was such a great singer and to hear this one unknown to me until now (after all these years!)is such a treasure! Sincerely, Wes Smith
Ironically, the best place to come for this kind of stuff was Britain. All the unwanted vinyl came over here (Along with unsold comics and pulp fiction) in spare space on the boats. Probably the same 'spare space' that they used to ship early Beatles material over to the US before they finally hit big over there.
What a really interesting song, and production.
Fabulous! RIP, Perry Botkin Jr. Arranged 'Black Pearl' and 'You Came, You Saw, You Conquered' among many others.
Perfect pop song with that early to mid 60s subtle change in sound. Robin Ward, perfection in voice and looks.
😇 Very Sweet 💞💥

Not familiar with this 💎 but it's Great, hats off to all concerned
beautiful sound and with robin ward singing lead vocal it adds to its great arrangement and production. rob
Fabulous musical undertow (background) in second verse. Worthy of Spector's best, but Perry Botkin aced this one!
STEREO!!!! An all-time favorite. Wish Jackie's lead was centered, but other than that it's damn near perfect.
Listening again in headphones - I still can't understand why this wasn't a huge hit in the US. It was in France! Did they know something we didn't?!?

Hi Wes,
I'm pleased to have introduced you to a new slice of ear candy.
+Anthony Reichardt ...You can say that again......I think you are the King of Gold Star Studios!
Quality man
great unheard tune.
You are right un heard
Wow ! I wish this song had made the hit parade in Denver. Sadly, The Brits owned Top 40 AM that year. ---------------WolfSky9

Being from Arvada, you are 100 percent correct. Listened to K I M N all the time!!
Bring on the Partridge family
Françoise Hardy "Pourtant tu m'aimes " 1964 too ! Who sung it in first ???
The Joys did it first. Both versions have qualities one of them have that the other does not, and both are objectively excellent
a stereo rarity
Love that. Not quite as much as the Francoise 'Ardy - but hey.
Pourtant tu m'aimes. Françoise Hardy.
