RECIPE
For this recipe you'll need:
500gr firm tofu
1tbsp oil
1tbsp cornstarch
1tbsp soy sauce
1tsp paprika powder
1tsp garlic powder
pinch of salt & pepper
1/2tsp ginger powder
Cut your tofu into even sized cubes and press most of the water out. You can use a tofu press to do this or use a heavy weight and a towel. Put the tofu cubes in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients. Mix until all the tofu is evenly coated, be careful to not crumble the tofu. Put the coated tofu on a baking tray lined with parchement paper and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes on 200 degrees Celsius. Flip the tofu halfway through (after 15min.). Enjoy!

I added the written recipe in the description box of the video! Let me know if you have any questions😊
I have been vegan for 5 years and maybe I’ve forgotten what chicken tastes like but i made this and it smelled and tasted exactly how I remembered chicken. My roomate walked in (knowing full well that I am vegan) and said “are you making chicken?
This is amazing! Thank you!!
So glad you liked it!! So cool to hear this, thanks for trying my recipe😊
Mass produced chicken doesn't really taste much of anything and we've probably just come to associate the smell of fried cornstarch with chicken. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I used smoked tofu and it turned out delicious as well. I'm gonna marinade and bake my tofu cubes more often this way :)
My meals not even completely done yet, but the tofu is and this came out so good that I have to leave a comment now, it is perfectly flavored and crispy, this is the only way I will ever do crispy tofu again!
Thank you so much.
Ahh thank you so much!! So happy to hear you enjoyed my recipe😁😁

@@veganleonora i am going mad......u replied me...that's something i never even thought off😘
Combine the marinade ingredients BEFORE mixing with the tofu.
Haha that would have been a smarter idea yeah😅🙈
And add the cornstarch last 😅 I’m learning that it tends to get really pastey.
Ow dit ga ik deze week proberen!!!
Leuk!!
♥️
It was delicious ! I dobled the ingredients and I added a little bit of water
Thanks for trying it!
Did you say 200 Celsius? So about 400F?
Yes 200 degrees celsius! That's about 392 fahrenheit according to the internet😊
Hello, I’m calorie conscious, do you think I could oil spray the baking tray, and put like a teaspoon of oil it’ll still come out the same?
Yeah I think that would definitely work!
Veganleonora thank u, i made them but they didn’t come out as expected haha, I’ll try again
Oh haha hope they will work out next time then 🤷🏼♀️
Are you dutch?
Yes I am!
You have a cute accent 😌
Made this. Don't know what I did wrong, because they are very good, but not crispy at all...
Hmm that's so weird, did you get the measurements right and make sure the oven was on the right temperature (200C/392F)? I make this all the time and it's always super crispy...You could try to add some more cornstarch next time, maybe not all the pieces got coated well🤔
@@veganleonora mixed the wet and dry ingredients separately while the tofu was being pressed, maybe that's why it didn't work well idk
Same here they tasted really good but almost no crispiness. Gonna try using more corn starch next time !
The tofu may have been too wet.
let's get merried. i can test all your food.....
