Guys what if Mordred didn’t stab Arthur only Arthur stabbed Mordred then Morgana got angry so she went to Arthur and Merlin (they are on the way to Camelot thinking everything is ok now) but then Morgana went to them before Arthur and Merlin reaching Camelot and she pinned Merlin into a tree and Arthur screamed “Merlin!” Morgana laughs at their faces and gives Merlin an evil smirk and turns to Arthur saying, “ I see he haven’t told you yet” Arthur is confused and look at Merlin and says “what?” In a low voice but then Morgana stares at Merlin and says “you don’t want me to tell me won’t you?” Then turns to Arthur and says “ your little servant is a sorcerer he has magic” Arthur doesn’t believe her so Morgana says some spell and throws a dagger at Arthur using her magic but Merlin stops it at mid air but then let it go Arthur is so shocked and Morgana is clearly enjoying herself and what she did. So Merlin takes this as an opportunity and stab her with the Excalibur sword and they say the last thing they told each other and Morgana dies. Arthur is now very angry and with pure rage he went to Merlin took the sword away from him and pointed it at Merlin. Merlin is making that puppy sad eyes thing he always does and his look are very innocent and Arthur is furious and dark thoughts went through his my mind about Merlin trying to enchant me and use him and how magic corrupts people. So without thinking and with his mental state Arthur stabbed Merlin the same way Mordred did with Arthur. Arthur immediately feels guilty and pulled the sword out and saw the look on merlin’s face, the look of betrayal. He wanted to get closer to Merlin to try and help him but Merlin flinched and backed away then made a transportation spell and vanished the last scene we see at season 5 is Arthur looking like a lost puppy and feeling very guilty And that how they should’ve finished the season 5 then start with season 6 with Arthur looking for Merlin everywhere and then some knight finds some of Merlin cloths with blood all over it and give it to Arthur but Arthur refuse to believe that he’s dead and a bunch of things will happen if I was the writer of Merlin I will break every heart of Merlin fans But I’m not so I can’t do that lmao I’m sorry that this is so so long I got carried away :) I just re-read it and there were so many grammar and spelling mistakes but I’m too lazy to fix it so I hope you’ll understand Ps I was in a rush
Or merlin could've healed Author by calling upon the great dragon and using its powers to heal or he could've given his life for Author and now all of Authors days will be focused on being obsessed on magic trying to find away to get merlin back but then he has to go on all theses crazy adventures and all of merlin friends learn about the magic and tty to help but a the end of the day it has to be sacrifice for a sacrifice so gwen was sacrificed for being a traitor but gwain didnt like it so he killed Author and that made the sacrifice work and now merlin is alive and has to try to find away to save Camelot from mass destruction
Arthur never would have killed Merlin. Even were he not stabbed and dying. He might have been angry with him, hurt by the lie, but he never would have killed him because when all is said and done - whether you believe it to be slash or platonic, Arthur loves Merlin just as much as Merlin loves Arthur.
