Arthur's willingness to protect Merlin and Merlin's sellflessness for Arthur was the beauty of this series. My heart still hurts even after all these years. I can't imagine Merlin being all alone.
It's 2022 and the story of Merlin and Arthur, their love and care for each other is still beautiful and I'm so proud of being the part of this powerful fandom and to rewatch this masterpiece over again 🧡

This is just... There could have been so much more between them... Their friendship was so unfinished. Merlin had so much left to tell Arthur. I cry everytime when I am thinking about what could have been when Arthur had known earlier or when he would have survived... So fucking sad.
There is a season 6 script and it's audio version on youtube called kingdom come. it is accepted by all as the real season 6. You should watch it
The true love story. No other pairing in this show can compare or come close to this. I don't care what the producers, directors, screenwriters, and actors believed because characters often make use of the people that give them life to tell their own stories, and Merlin and Arthur might not have been created with that goal in mind but what they bring to life on screen is the most organic and overpowering love we could've witnessed. I dare say it surpasses the physical and the lovers'. In fact, I don't think any of us can fully define it or name its boundaries. We just know it's something special and unparalleled.
Arthur has no reason to return since Albion exists no more. The only thing left standing is Merlin. What else is he rising for if not for him? Arthur will rise from the "dead" when Merlin needs him most...when Merlin's pain outweighs his love. No wonder it takes them so long... He will live on because Merlin lives on, and Merlin lives on because Arthur lives on as well in some way. Merlin lives with the sole intention and purpose of being reunited with Arthur - not the once and future king but the man, always the man.
In the end, what we got was an implicit happy ending. These two are destined to be together, one way or another, and together they will be. The once and future soulmates.
any efforts that have been done to look at that 800 to 1000 years return: take a bow. No doubt someday it will be regendered to a new audience and us who will keep watching and listening. Love the fanvids. thank you.

We all know how it turned out last time he believed Merlin was with a 'giiirl' 😉🤣 and how not even his wife's presence deterred him from mentioning something about "walking with a limp". The man was clearly out to eliminate all possible types of competition. 😂

it puzzles me to no end too. Not being a teenager anymore, having watched so many great shows and films but this 'Merlin' show and especially that kind of Merlin portrayed by Colin gets me every time on a level I cannot control (Bradley does a great job too ofc). The psychological stimulus, the chemical processes in the brain when watching Colin as Merlin is something I can't explain - not even to myself. It certainly is unique in unsettling me.

how fast time flies, it's been more than a decade now since the beginning of this incredible and remarkable show,and next year will be it's 10th anniversary since it was ended.i will never forget this show. the once and future king.
looking back at the show, it feels like the actors were acting is as a love story, while the screenwriters wrote it as an epic co-dependent friendship. this might explain why we age getting all of this subtext and crazy chemistry but no voiced confirmation.
bradly and colin brought the magic to life, but other cast members are hardcore merthur shippers, like morgana and mordred. did you see his tweet about how he thinks merthur is canon? *the feels*
I have watched Merlin like 5 years age, maybe more. And still, after this video I cried. I really cried like a little girl. Their relationship is so true, so unique and you described it perfectly in this video. Well done, it is a masterpiece ♥
I just realized despite the surface platonic nature of these two’s relationship, in a different time and age, they could have been lovers. I mean these two have the most realistic potential for rediscovering their love for each other, in a romantic lense. I mean there are a lot of canon ships in various fandoms that don’t even have half the potential Merlin and Arthur do. They just care about each other so deeply, it is evident in the show. If they were given options to branch out from their duties and responsibilities which was so cumbersome and enormous, they would have had space to rethink their relationship😢.
I think when Arthur finally returns, both Merlin and him will have time to rediscover things. Realistically, I think Merlin would have centuries worth of trauma watching the people he loved die while he stayed immortal. And Arthur will also have deal with a lot of issues. All in all, they’ll have each other in the end regardless of how much time it would take. Merlin fans have to take comfort in that thought because in an alternate universe or maybe even in this world, Arthur could be already reunited with his Merlin and trying to figure out the world yet again.❤😢

This is the only drama i am watching from season 1 until 5 n repeating watching it..1st time i watch it not season 1 but i am interested with the character Arthur n Merlin.So i am wait every weekend in front of my tv for Merlin & also looking on internet about the season that i miss it before..After Final i download all ep n keep watching because i cant move on n cant accept Arthur death.I am not satisfied about final ep. I hope Arthur know everything about Merlin before he died.
