Have to disagree with you pal. I really liked Cal. He’s like what Rey was supposed to be, but one hundred times better, while also managing to be better than Ezra and Kanan combined. He IS a generic character, I won’t deny that, but this game proved to me that this isn’t necessarily always a bad thing. Cal has so much personality and his story is so well told and so grounded in reality that it managed to captivate me until the last second. My biggest fear was that he was gonna die by the end since this is canon. I can see why you and a lot of other people would call him generic, but to me, that didn’t make him a bad character when his story and development were so well written and executed in the game.
For anyone who is planning on getting this id suggest playing on at least jedi master or grand master for the full experience. It adds a bit of a challenge but not too bad
The Real Obscure yeah GM is a joke tbh. It’s just my opinion but it feels way too easy ... the only challenge I faced was the last boss (no spoilers) just because of broken mechs
Yo not so many details, I came out to find if the game is god or bad, not the opening and how every planet I visit will look like. Just tell me in 5 to 10 min how the mechanics, graphics, game play, and if its got oodles of micro transactions ruining the game... But really chill on the games intricate details.
I think the way it works with dying / checkpoints is that 1) If you die in battle, you respawn at the last meditation point you visited and you'll need to hit the enemy that killed you to regain XP. I think you can still get killed on your way back to that enemy and then you will have two enemies to regain XP from. You don't need to rest at the meditation point. It's enough to interact with it to save your progress there. 2) If you die by falling, you restart where you died but your health bar will decrease by a bit. I haven't tested this 100% but I think that if you die consistently without healing to the point that your health goes to 0, you'll be taken back to the last meditation point you visited. I'm not sure whether you'll be taken to the meditation point after a fixed number of failed attempts I.e. preventing you from just healing constantly as your life decreases after each fall.

This guy played on normal, I would definitely recommend playing on Jedi Knight, or whatever the third option is called. It’s just a little to easy on normal. Jedi master is basically insane mode

Devs said no, at least for now. They said because they believed that the player would be far too powerful and would be able to blow straight through all the areas as some are gated by upgrades needed to progress through certain parts of levels to keep from moving to far before story warrants it. But maybe they will change some things and put one in!
I'd like to give this a shot after a nice price drop. So far, I like most of what I've learned. What I am not a fan of is losing unspent experience and the means of getting them back and no fast travel. Hopefully, that won't get old and I will be able to enjoy and finish the game.

It usually take less than a minute for you to get back to where you died and reclaim. Any XP you gained (you don’t have to fight everything; just run past enemies to reach section) is instantly recouped. Also, you can adjust difficulty level on the fly so if one enemy/boss is giving you really hard time, you can lower difficulty for that fight, then raise it back up. If you like Star Wars, you’ll def enjoy the game
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is such a fun and amazing game ! 😁 I got this game when it came out last year :) The lightsaber combat and the Force powers are amazing and the story and characters are outstanding and The Inquisitors. This game had epic bossbattles and lightsaber duels against the Inquisitors and Taron Malicos 😁.

I must say, i wasn't expecting to like this game because I'm not a big fan of any of the new SW stuff and not even the new Mandalorian series(well, so far at least it's pretty bland imo) but after a few hours I'm really liking this game. I don't know, it just feels like SW to me as far as atmosphere goes and the game is not bad at all. It's nothing new, i admit. I recently played Shadow of the Tomb Raider and this game has a lot in common with that game in terms of actual gameplay but it's a good game. It's fun, it looks great and it runs great in 1080p on an old i5 4690k, GTX 970 setup, 60 fps no problems. It does have minor microstutter but mainly during cinematics and I don't really mind. Overall i give it a 7.5 / 10.
It's still no Outcast or Academy but it's definitely still the best Jedi game since the Jedi Knight series. I don't think there will ever be a better Jedi/lightsaber combat game than Jedi Outcast and Academy unless they just made a new Jedi Knight game and even then I would be worried that the gameplay still wouldn't live up to what Outcast and Academy achieved unless they brought back the original team that worked on those last 2 games.
@@heartlesslucas7781 Fallen Order takes another approach to combat. It's more cinematic and tries to look real while beeing a souls "lite" game. Jedi Outcast and Academy plays faster, the movement of the characters is outdated af, but its a good dueling game. Frankly I dont believe games like Jedi Academy would do well those days. Imagine the Gameplay of Academy combined with the graphics of Fallen Order... it would look ridiculous and silly.

How are people praising the combat? The dodging is horrible. I'm not new to this kind of game at all. I dodge at the right time, but I still get hit. It makes Grand Master difficulty a lot less fun. Maybe everyone is playing on normal difficulty
My only complaint of this game is that it wasn't enough for a single player only story, people beat it in the first weekend! 40-50 hours of content would've been perfect!!
at least 15+ hrs needed to complete all the planet contents, that is if you don't use a walkthrough... This game is really great though, the portion is just right, and without a SIDE QUEST. Remember the first Mass Effect? It can be finished in relatively shorter than Star Wars JFO with only the main story.

For me though, if the content as a whole is enjoyable and it has "context" for its story, then it is a good game (Journey for example, so short, but so breathtaking)... Ass'creed Odyssey meanwhile has a ton of content, lots of hours to sink in, but the contextuality of the game is so poor to the point it is not enjoyable.

once again... Disney should stick to prequels... the sequel characters are ok but the movies they are in are terrible...force awakens was ok but all went to hell with last jedi.. I just hope that Rise of Skywalker is decent... I expect it to at least be better than attack of the clones but not worse than last jedi...I put force awakens right under the bar to attack of the clones because I guess I am the only person who appreciated that movie for what it was...the secret is that you cant screw up a prequel as bad as a sequel because if you do you will break the hell out of canon...
This game is amazing u like how u can fight as a Jedi but I think it would be very Interesting if u can choose to fight as a Jedi or play as a Sith for empire but that’s just my opinion. Having a choice of what side u want to fight as. Because I already beat the game in two days idk it was to easy but I’m getting off topic I think it would be interesting If u fight as a sith for the empire I mean playing as a Jedi’s for each difficulty when u beat the game each difficulty there’s really nothing else to do it would be interesting if they made it where u can fight as a sith for the next update or even when new dlc comes out they should give u at least a option to which side u can fight as at least it would make the game interesting as well just my opinion
i think i see the excitement of branching story.. but actually it is hard to do, doing all extra work costs more and the outcome is insignificant.. don't forget that this game is under EA's radar, they have their own silly deadline for a branching story game like Mass Effect Andromeda, and was it delivered? no, MEA is an embarrassment (even more hurtful for ME fans). Star Wars JFO gives you more than 14 hours of pure STORY contents, no side mission or fetch quest. Just be grateful that Respawn can nailed this game, the sequel of this game should be exactly start from JFO ending, fvck those who hoping for a dlc at this point. A metaphor: a masterpiece film is praised because of what it is in the execution, not because "what if it ended this/that way of the ideal term?".

It didn't "replace" anything. It just wasn't cancelled like 1313 was. It would be nice if someday 1313 became a reality, but for now I am VERY satisfied with Fallen Order.
So you’re not going to mention the bulky controls? Or why Cal falls even when he’s jumping across the easiest gaps. Or why when you hit an enemy they don’t stagger and they get to continue hitting you but if they hit you Cal goes flying? What about the input lag? You forgot to mention the terrible input lag that causes you to be hit even though you pressed dodge well within the sweet spot. Just saying.
the game is not made to be as boring as dynasty warriors mechanic. It will punish you for your bad decision but highly satisfying when you succeed... Trying to success for all combat encounter in this game is actually so much more enjoyable. It is basically a soulslike game where the frustration is put to minimal, great game.

Kind of like tomb raider but yeah more of the same. The only scene that I was like ok this is EPIC is right after the final boss fight. If the game could have been more of that it would have been better. Also the cosmetics/things you want to hunt around the world for are absolute trash and I'm not even bothering to go collect them. Already uninstalled.
@@emich34 Yeah its just not for you, the items you collect are one of my favorite parts. Being able to customize a lightsaaber in a video game is a dream come true for me and its mtx free. Also the story had me hooked its one of my favorite time periods of starwars. I enjoyed this story a lot more than sekiro and the setting. Combat was good and not crazy over the top force powers allowing it to feel more like the films. I really enjoyed some of the characters as well like the the pilot and the sisters. For me its a solid 9/10. The only thing i can think of to make it better would be the fact some people had bugs on launch and i think it could have been longer but thats just because i want more lol. Would love a squeal.

Imagine if the combat was as detailed as something like the Arkham games. "The Best Star Wars Game...." Not for me. Story is okay, nothing groundbreaking new, but still enjoyable. To a certain degree... What bugs me more(Pun intended..) are the Performance Issues and that frustrating Combatsystem on higher Difficulties. I played it on my Xbox One X and it still had Issues like loosing Dialogs in Cutscences, Freezes, Bugs, Glitches and Crashes. The Game went a bit more stable after deleting the Game from my external Hard Drive and installing it on my internal Drive, but still with minor Glitches and one huge Crash (which scared the Hell outta me!) while i was fighting four Stormtroopers. Btw what's with this frikkin' Holomap?! It's sooo annoying because Floors are overlapping and that confuses me, which furthermore, makes backtraking a long and (again) annoying Game of Luck. And lastly, the End. I won't spoiler, but seriously?! That's it?! Nah...i hardly disagree. For me it's not the best Star Wars Game. Playable and enjoyable, yeah, but far from Perfect or "Best".
Tommaso Sirigu He said it’s the best Star Wars game in 10 years, maybe even more, not the best ever. The story is great, I think most Star Wars fans would agree. Great characters, a compelling storyline and fan service, as well as respawns own spin on things. It was an excellent Star Wars story, one of my favourites is recent years. I don’t think the game is as buggy as you’re making it sound but my game did crash a few times and there were some minor glitches, but not many. While not welcomed, this is usually expected with a new game and hopefully Respawn will release a patch soon. The holomap was a great addition. One of the best video game maps I’ve used. It was slightly confusing at first, only because of how intricate it is. But once you figure it out, it is extremely helpful. It shows you what paths you have yet to travel, what you can and can’t traverse, your short cuts, all of the different floor levels, elevators, entrances and exits, as well as numerous other things such as how many chests you’ve unlocked and how much of the world you’ve explored. The ending sequence was amazing, I was very happy with what they did with it. I was blown away by the appearance made, without giving anything away. The ending itself is also what I wanted it to be, it leaves us open to interpretation of what could be in store for a sequel, while also concluding the games story. So, I have to disagree with you. Also, I’m not sure what you meant about the combat system being frustrating on higher difficulties. It is such a fun combat system. Isn’t the point of higher difficulties to make combat more....difficult? Or even frustrating? All I can say is, Get better at the game?

I haven't played every Star Wars game by far but out of the ones I have played I would place it as the best (and yes of course, for its time). My order: 1: Fallen Order 2: Dark Forces 3: Shadows of the Empire It marries three of my favorite games: Sekiro/Souls, Uncharted and Shadows of the Empire into one amazing experience capturing most of the best aspects of each of those series/games. Now I have to convince my friend who's sworn off EA games because of their unethical behavior in the past to not punish Remedy Games for their publisher's sins (and himself as a consumer) and give it a try. The only real complaint I can think of is you only get to choose between this overly magnetic lock on that grabs the guy closest to you (rather than the one you're centered on whereas I think that type of lock on magnatism needs to have a left stick reorientation threshold where when you are clearly pursuing one target the lock on readjusts accordingly) or turning it off that makes you need to adjust your view by the right thumb stick (PS4) while you're using that thumb to hit the face buttons to attack.

Loving this game, almost perfect. I will say, one thing that would greatly improve the combat in the game (not that is needs it much) would be to have a Nioh-like stance system. High, Mid, Low attacks and High, Mid and Low blocks/parries. add to Jedi Fallen Order 2 maybe?
From my point of view, (and sorry but is my personal opinion) there are good and bad things. The only interesting character in the game is BD-1 (all others, including Cal, are too plain to my taste), the plot is practically null and the combat system is BORING and REPETITIVE, extremely slow against elite units. The dialogs are poor. The lack of a fast travel system forces you to do very long and annoying backtracking to the ship, and you waste a lot of your gaming time doing it. The levels are HUGE and BEAUTIFUL, one of the best level systems I have ever seen, and the puzzles you find are good enough to have fun with them. The enemies are very attractive, even more the elite and special ones (purge troopers and inquisitors are incredible, and the Second Sister is simply awesome). The animations are clean and, even when the character controller is a bit clumsy and can change direction midair (I hate that) it's enjoyable and reliable. Cal is not as interesting as other Star Wars games main characters as Galen Marek (not in a million years), Iden Versio (not a Jedi but I loved Iden, such a bad girl) or even Kyle Katarn (with his very own sense of humor). I believe the graphics are important, but personality is what makes your game huge, and Cal does not have it...

I had one major issue while playing this game, at one point I fell off a cliff and when the game respawned it responded me falling off the cliff over and over and over again... I had to quit and restart from my previous checkpoint.... That's when I learned you want to meditate at every meditation spot because I lost about 35 minutes worth of gameplay
Skyrim, fallout, mass effect, batman arkham, the witcher, mgsv, uncharted 4, these are huge games with lots to do. JFO is short and saying it huge is a big lie. Also nothing in this game has 'lots of depth'. Every collectible is useless and purely cosmetic. Only steam canisters add something to the game. The lack of fast travel to your ship when this game's maps are mazes is a cheap move to artificially sum up more time. Same for not having skippable cutscenes. This game may look good and have all the star wars hype over it, but in the end it's not worth all the praise it's getting at all.
boss fights were so underwhelming and forgettable, the only really good one was with Vader and that was just "surviving" also i laughed more than taking it seriously after the FPS drops when he shot tiles at u and when he reaches u at the elevator, so awkward lmao
Having just finished I can say that I found it to be mediocre for the same reason the last Jedi mediocre but at least fallen order was not painful to finish
The story is really lame, and the gameplay is full of repetitive, mindless stiff platforming that never changes throughout the padded kit game. The blaster bolt deflection mechanic is the best thing about the game. Everything else like the badly copied and pasted souls mechanics aren’t as good as they could’ve been imo.

I think you can still get killed on your way back to that enemy and then you will have two enemies to regain XP from. You don't need to rest at the meditation point. It's enough to interact with it to save your progress there. 2) If you die by falling, you restart where you died but your health bar will decrease by a bit. I haven't tested this 100% but I think that if you die consistently without healing to the point that your health goes to 0, you'll be taken back to the last meditation point you visited. I'm not sure whether you'll be taken to the meditation point after a fixed number of failed attempts I.e. preventing you from just healing constantly as your life decreases after each fall.

Devs said no, at least for now. They said because they believed that the player would be far too powerful and would be able to blow straight through all the areas as some are gated by upgrades needed to progress through certain parts of levels to keep from moving to far before story warrants it. But maybe they will change some things and put one in!

I'd like to give this a shot after a nice price drop. So far, I like most of what I've learned. What I am not a fan of is losing unspent experience and the means of getting them back and no fast travel. Hopefully, that won't get old and I will be able to enjoy and finish the game.

I like the story of this game and I think it could be fun. Force Unleashed is the first Star Wars game I played and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I'm hoping I'll enjoy this too.
It usually take less than a minute for you to get back to where you died and reclaim. Any XP you gained (you don’t have to fight everything; just run past enemies to reach section) is instantly recouped. Also, you can adjust difficulty level on the fly so if one enemy/boss is giving you really hard time, you can lower difficulty for that fight, then raise it back up. If you like Star Wars, you’ll def enjoy the game

The lightsaber combat and the Force powers are amazing and the story and characters are outstanding and The Inquisitors. This game had epic bossbattles and lightsaber duels against the Inquisitors and Taron Malicos 😁.

I must say, i wasn't expecting to like this game because I'm not a big fan of any of the new SW stuff and not even the new Mandalorian series(well, so far at least it's pretty bland imo) but after a few hours I'm really liking this game. I don't know, it just feels like SW to me as far as atmosphere goes and the game is not bad at all. It's nothing new, i admit. I recently played Shadow of the Tomb Raider and this game has a lot in common with that game in terms of actual gameplay but it's a good game. It's fun, it looks great and it runs great in 1080p on an old i5 4690k, GTX 970 setup, 60 fps no problems. It does have minor microstutter but mainly during cinematics and I don't really mind. Overall i give it a 7.5 / 10.

It's still no Outcast or Academy but it's definitely still the best Jedi game since the Jedi Knight series. I don't think there will ever be a better Jedi/lightsaber combat game than Jedi Outcast and Academy unless they just made a new Jedi Knight game and even then I would be worried that the gameplay still wouldn't live up to what Outcast and Academy achieved unless they brought back the original team that worked on those last 2 games.
@@heartlesslucas7781 Fallen Order takes another approach to combat. It's more cinematic and tries to look real while beeing a souls "lite" game. Jedi Outcast and Academy plays faster, the movement of the characters is outdated af, but its a good dueling game.
Frankly I dont believe games like Jedi Academy would do well those days. Imagine the Gameplay of Academy combined with the graphics of Fallen Order... it would look ridiculous and silly.

This game is an easy 8.5/10. Maybe a 9. Definitely one of the better Star Wars games out there, and probably in my top 10 favorite games ever.
How are people praising the combat? The dodging is horrible. I'm not new to this kind of game at all. I dodge at the right time, but I still get hit. It makes Grand Master difficulty a lot less fun. Maybe everyone is playing on normal difficulty

My only complaint of this game is that it wasn't enough for a single player only story, people beat it in the first weekend! 40-50 hours of content would've been perfect!!
at least 15+ hrs needed to complete all the planet contents, that is if you don't use a walkthrough... This game is really great though, the portion is just right, and without a SIDE QUEST.
Remember the first Mass Effect? It can be finished in relatively shorter than Star Wars JFO with only the main story.

For me though, if the content as a whole is enjoyable and it has "context" for its story, then it is a good game (Journey for example, so short, but so breathtaking)... Ass'creed Odyssey meanwhile has a ton of content, lots of hours to sink in, but the contextuality of the game is so poor to the point it is not enjoyable.

once again... Disney should stick to prequels... the sequel characters are ok but the movies they are in are terrible...force awakens was ok but all went to hell with last jedi.. I just hope that Rise of Skywalker is decent... I expect it to at least be better than attack of the clones but not worse than last jedi...I put force awakens right under the bar to attack of the clones because I guess I am the only person who appreciated that movie for what it was...the secret is that you cant screw up a prequel as bad as a sequel because if you do you will break the hell out of canon...

This game is amazing u like how u can fight as a Jedi but I think it would be very Interesting if u can choose to fight as a Jedi or play as a Sith for empire but that’s just my opinion. Having a choice of what side u want to fight as. Because I already beat the game in two days idk it was to easy but I’m getting off topic I think it would be interesting If u fight as a sith for the empire I mean playing as a Jedi’s for each difficulty when u beat the game each difficulty there’s really nothing else to do it would be interesting if they made it where u can fight as a sith for the next update or even when new dlc comes out they should give u at least a option to which side u can fight as at least it would make the game interesting as well just my opinion
i think i see the excitement of branching story.. but actually it is hard to do, doing all extra work costs more and the outcome is insignificant.. don't forget that this game is under EA's radar, they have their own silly deadline for a branching story game like Mass Effect Andromeda, and was it delivered? no, MEA is an embarrassment (even more hurtful for ME fans).
Star Wars JFO gives you more than 14 hours of pure STORY contents, no side mission or fetch quest. Just be grateful that Respawn can nailed this game, the sequel of this game should be exactly start from JFO ending, fvck those who hoping for a dlc at this point.

the game is not made to be as boring as dynasty warriors mechanic. It will punish you for your bad decision but highly satisfying when you succeed... Trying to success for all combat encounter in this game is actually so much more enjoyable. It is basically a soulslike game where the frustration is put to minimal, great game.

Kind of like tomb raider but yeah more of the same. The only scene that I was like ok this is EPIC is right after the final boss fight. If the game could have been more of that it would have been better. Also the cosmetics/things you want to hunt around the world for are absolute trash and I'm not even bothering to go collect them. Already uninstalled.
@@emich34 Yeah its just not for you, the items you collect are one of my favorite parts. Being able to customize a lightsaaber in a video game is a dream come true for me and its mtx free. Also the story had me hooked its one of my favorite time periods of starwars. I enjoyed this story a lot more than sekiro and the setting. Combat was good and not crazy over the top force powers allowing it to feel more like the films. I really enjoyed some of the characters as well like the the pilot and the sisters. For me its a solid 9/10. The only thing i can think of to make it better would be the fact some people had bugs on launch and i think it could have been longer but thats just because i want more lol. Would love a squeal.

Imagine if the combat was as detailed as something like the Arkham games. What bugs me more(Pun intended..) are the Performance Issues and that frustrating Combatsystem on higher Difficulties. I played it on my Xbox One X and it still had Issues like loosing Dialogs in Cutscences, Freezes, Bugs, Glitches and Crashes.
The Game went a bit more stable after deleting the Game from my external Hard Drive and installing it on my internal Drive, but still with minor Glitches and one huge Crash (which scared the Hell outta me!) while i was fighting four Stormtroopers.
Btw what's with this frikkin' Holomap?! It's sooo annoying because Floors are overlapping and that confuses me, which furthermore, makes backtraking a long and (again) annoying Game of Luck.
And lastly, the End. I won't spoiler, but seriously?! That's it?!

The story is great, I think most Star Wars fans would agree. Great characters, a compelling storyline and fan service, as well as respawns own spin on things. It was an excellent Star Wars story, one of my favourites is recent years.
I don’t think the game is as buggy as you’re making it sound but my game did crash a few times and there were some minor glitches, but not many. While not welcomed, this is usually expected with a new game and hopefully Respawn will release a patch soon.
The holomap was a great addition. One of the best video game maps I’ve used. It was slightly confusing at first, only because of how intricate it is. But once you figure it out, it is extremely helpful. It shows you what paths you have yet to travel, what you can and can’t traverse, your short cuts, all of the different floor levels, elevators, entrances and exits, as well as numerous other things such as how many chests you’ve unlocked and how much of the world you’ve explored.
The ending sequence was amazing, I was very happy with what they did with it. I was blown away by the appearance made, without giving anything away. The ending itself is also what I wanted it to be, it leaves us open to interpretation of what could be in store for a sequel, while also concluding the games story.
So, I have to disagree with you.
Also, I’m not sure what you meant about the combat system being frustrating on higher difficulties. It is such a fun combat system. Isn’t the point of higher difficulties to make combat more....difficult? Or even frustrating? All I can say is, Get better at the game?

I haven't played every Star Wars game by far but out of the ones I have played I would place it as the best (and yes of course, for its time).
My order:
1: Fallen Order
2: Dark Forces
3: Shadows of the Empire
It marries three of my favorite games: Sekiro/Souls, Uncharted and Shadows of the Empire into one amazing experience capturing most of the best aspects of each of those series/games. Now I have to convince my friend who's sworn off EA games because of their unethical behavior in the past to not punish Remedy Games for their publisher's sins (and himself as a consumer) and give it a try.
The only real complaint I can think of is you only get to choose between this overly magnetic lock on that grabs the guy closest to you (rather than the one you're centered on whereas I think that type of lock on magnatism needs to have a left stick reorientation threshold where when you are clearly pursuing one target the lock on readjusts accordingly) or turning it off that makes you need to adjust your view by the right thumb stick (PS4) while you're using that thumb to hit the face buttons to attack.

Loving this game, almost perfect. I will say, one thing that would greatly improve the combat in the game (not that is needs it much) would be to have a Nioh-like stance system. High, Mid, Low attacks and High, Mid and Low blocks/parries. add to Jedi Fallen Order 2 maybe?

From my point of view, (and sorry but is my personal opinion) there are good and bad things. The only interesting character in the game is BD-1 (all others, including Cal, are too plain to my taste), the plot is practically null and the combat system is BORING and REPETITIVE, extremely slow against elite units. The dialogs are poor. The lack of a fast travel system forces you to do very long and annoying backtracking to the ship, and you waste a lot of your gaming time doing it. The levels are HUGE and BEAUTIFUL, one of the best level systems I have ever seen, and the puzzles you find are good enough to have fun with them. The enemies are very attractive, even more the elite and special ones (purge troopers and inquisitors are incredible, and the Second Sister is simply awesome). The animations are clean and, even when the character controller is a bit clumsy and can change direction midair (I hate that) it's enjoyable and reliable. Cal is not as interesting as other Star Wars games main characters as Galen Marek (not in a million years), Iden Versio (not a Jedi but I loved Iden, such a bad girl) or even Kyle Katarn (with his very own sense of humor). I believe the graphics are important, but personality is what makes your game huge, and Cal does not have it...

I had one major issue while playing this game, at one point I fell off a cliff and when the game respawned it responded me falling off the cliff over and over and over again... I had to quit and restart from my previous checkpoint.... That's when I learned you want to meditate at every meditation spot because I lost about 35 minutes worth of gameplay
Even with those added 35 minutes it's a short game

Most puzzles are playing football with the force!! It makes no sense.
Skyrim, fallout, mass effect, batman arkham, the witcher, mgsv, uncharted 4, these are huge games with lots to do. JFO is short and saying it huge is a big lie. Also nothing in this game has 'lots of depth'. Every collectible is useless and purely cosmetic. Only steam canisters add something to the game. The lack of fast travel to your ship when this game's maps are mazes is a cheap move to artificially sum up more time. Same for not having skippable cutscenes. This game may look good and have all the star wars hype over it, but in the end it's not worth all the praise it's getting at all.

Having just finished I can say that I found it to be mediocre for the same reason the last Jedi mediocre but at least fallen order was not painful to finish
The story is really lame, and the gameplay is full of repetitive, mindless stiff platforming that never changes throughout the padded kit game. The blaster bolt deflection mechanic is the best thing about the game. Everything else like the badly copied and pasted souls mechanics aren’t as good as they could’ve been imo.
