Man you deserve way more views, this is probably the best air gun channel on youtube. You give pretty much all the info needed for the guns that you are rewieving, keep up the good work!
Im from the UK and have been a big fan of the Dirty Harry movies since I first saw Magnum Force on TV back in the late 80s. Recently discovered the replica was available on preorder. So have placed an order for the 3 and 6.5 inch barrel versions. Wasn't sure about the dark chrome finish at first. But after seeing this review, I can't wait to get it. It's a truly beautiful piece
I've been waiting for a rep of the M29 since day dot. It is THE most beautiful revolver of all time. Do I feel lucky..? I will when a pellet version comes along.😎
I had one of those Crossman 357's "back in the day." I had a blast with that thing in the rod locker of my bass boat. I'd take a break from fishing and plink at various targets of opportunity in the river. Sticks, leaves, etc., were almost always available. I don't know what happened to that gun. I'd like to find another.
Hi JC, I Love The Old Dirty Harry movies with Clint Eastwood, Umarex makes fantastic Co2 replicas, did a great job on this one. I'm about to turn my birthday.. Do I feel lucky.😉. Five-star review as always 👍 congratulations, all the best. cheers
I'm in Québec, Canada and I've just received mine today, and all I can say is WOW! You were right on all counts! This is a big revolver, the finish is incredible, great velocity, great accuracy, this is a very very cool airgun replica, I do feel lucky! I own a lot of BB airguns replicas, and this is my favorite one, along with my P08 (also from Umarex).
Fantastic review. I’ve also got this airgun and love it! Like other commenters in here, I believe you to be the best online RUclipsr reviewing these airguns. I’ve watched most of your videos and use you as my go to when purchasing air guns. Thank you and all the best to you….keep up the great work!
They will probably go the same route as the Peacemaker, bb first then pellet version and other barrel lengths. The big mistakes in the Peacemakers were not using a bright blue finish and chemical case colored frame , and the big mistake no 4 3/4 barrel. In the 29 I would have offered the 6 1/2 barrel first. If Umarex wants to be bold and daring, they should now do a 4 and 6 model 19. Who dares, wins
I own the 6 inch BB version of the model 29. And I love it. I would have preferred it to have a blued finish like the original. I'd love to see Umarex bring out a replica of the Smith and Wesson Model 19 in a 2.5 and 4 inch barrel version.
Brilliant video and tutorial. Bought one based on your review in a flash sale for £98, a bargain plus some pellet shells. I am well old enough to remember the Dirty Harry films and this was a must have pistol. Thanks for the tip about the finger, it does make a difference. All the best, John Essex UK.
This is very cool, JC. I grew up in Marin County where Dirty Harry was a religion, TO ME. The last scene in DIRTY HARRY was the rock quarry in San Rafael, CA. Edit : Wow JC, your law enforcement history sure shows in your groupings !!!! Those are incredible !!!
Hi Michael, Dirty Harry was such an icon growing up and his "44 Magnum Model 29" was what all my buddies talked about. I had a neighbor kid across the street, his dad, George, had a M29 6 1/2" and it was such a treat to show it to us on that rare occasion. Living in SO CAL I had friends and family that lived in the bay area. So I was somewhat familiar with Inspector Callahan's city😉. Thank you for watching 👍
Good review. I'm a "Smith and Wesson guy." I don't know how many (The real things) I've owned over the years but it's been a bunch of them. If they made one of these with a 4" barrel, I'd order it today. I've never cared for any barrel longer than 5" and prefer them in the 4" range. Heck. I might make an exception for this one.
Great work on the information, history of this beautiful handgun; I also grew up watching the Dirty Harry movies, and I had to buy this machine...It has power for sure for a Co2 bb revolver Thanks again; You are a great shooter!
In the UK 🇬🇧 we have an online store called "Pellpax", they're doing this 8" revolver for £105, i wasn’t sure if i wanted it in my collection but your review made it a no brainer, thank you for this great review and i look forward to seeing my 8" M29 in the flesh 👍
I've been looking everyday for this pistol to be released...I cant wait to get it. Great review. I'm new to your channel, but your reviews are thorough and entertaining. Thanks for your work, its appreciated!!
Received mine two days ago. Fit , finish and timing perfect. Shot low and left out of the box with Umarex bbs . Easily adjusted for horizontal, but with max elevation adjustment, and six o clock holds round 11/2 low with both bb and 7 gr Meisterkugeln pellets. Tight groups in both sa and da shot offhand.
mine was the same way. i removed the rear sight and removed some material from under side from the front screw hole to front of sight. now i have twice the elevation adjustment.
@@Skaetdude teeder todder if front can go down more than sight can go up more. just remove until the casting circle is gone and that is the perfect amount.
Great gun great review, might have to add this to my collection if only for the diisplay case, very close copy. Takes me back to happier times in the UK before they banned guns in the late 90,s. Happy times with my 629 6inch smashing skittles and metal plates 👍🏴, Best wishes from England, thank you for these videos.
OMG I got the M29 and I have various alloy pellets this thing is a Beast here are some results the outdoor is 45 deg 2 weeks ago and waited 1 Min. between shots 1. Crosman fast Flights 5.4 gr. 483 fps. 2. Excite Prometheus pistol pellets 4.8 gr 560 fps. 3. RWS Hypermax pellets 5.2 gr. 552 fps. 4. Prometheus Truncated pellets 5.0 gr. 510 fps. 6. Gamo lethal pellets 5.5 gr. 523 fps. ??? WTH. RWS Superpoint Extra hunting pellets 8.2 gr lead 435 fps.
That finish is Black Nickel very expensive only Nickel Niflor was more expensive. - About 20 year ago when i was metal finishing that finish was only used by military and developed for helicopter parts. Black Oxidize on ss and Black Nickel on steel was used on the head piece. Obviously You didn't want the enemies having a shinny target... Oh side note for anyone wondering- Nickel Niflor is a combination of (PTFE) aka Teflon 18% mixed in with nickel... Have a blessed day!
@@AirgunDetectives Very nice , but alas ! I have to just enjoy watching Airgun detectives test it , weird laws here in Denmark forbid co2 guns shooting metal pellets , only 6mm plastic or paintball ammo. We can buy full power springers and pcps though, so yeah 🤔
I'm going have to quit watching this channel .. I'm going broke ! ... I have already bought four guns BECAUSE of this guy !! ... and now I can't stop myself from a next day delivery purchase from Amazon for THIS ONE !! ... I hope my wife doesn't find out
The review I was looking for! You provided all the information I needed and actually answered every question I had about the replica. Excellent channel, I subscribed.
You are the most comprehensive air gun reviewer on the tube. Was thinking of buying the 29 (read all the hype and saw a couple promo vids), but seeing it now...meh. Looks a little cartoonish with that 8 inch barrel. And I didn't like the cylinder wobble at 4:59...looks toyish. Thanks for saving me around $200.
I do prefer pellets over bbs. I definitely would buy the rifled barrel and just sling pellets from it all day long. BBs ricochet, aren't as accurate but they're inexpensive as you mentioned. Definitely will buy sometime even if there is no rifled barrel.
Very well done review, thank you for all your reviews, very helpful to us all !! I recently bought the M29. It is probably as accurate as my 38 , 357, 9mm and .22 pistols out to 15 to 20 yards and that is about all anyone could expect. Very enjoyable to shoot. I set about 6 - 10 cans hanging from a string at different ranges and see how fast I can hit them. As fun as a firearm, but costs next to nothing to shoot. I would rather it had an 8-pellet rotary clip like the gamo 776 , but OK as is. would like to see a rifled barrel as an added-on option.
@@tom-x2w7h I have no trouble putting the pellets inside a 2 1/2 inch circle at 20 yards. Cannot ask for much more than that. I have shot glocks that do no better
They should offer the short barrels 3 inch and 6 1/2 barrel versions shown in Europe. Should offer this finish on Peacemakers. Now that they have the frame, Umarex should offer a 1917 45 acp.
I agree. I bought the 3 inch M29 a few weeks ago when the 8 3/8 inch was out of stock. Kind of wish I bought the 8 3/8 instead, but I really wish Umarex would just sell the 6.5 in the US. 8 3/8 looks a bit ridiculous, but if they aren't selling the 6.5 inch by the time the 8 3/8 is back in stock I might just settle for that one. Also, the fact that the speedloader for these is only available in Europe is ridiculous as well.
Great review on a superb looking pistol. I'll be the first in the queue to own it when it does come out in the UK. You have earned my subscription my friend. Many thanks.
It's a Travis gun, not Dirty Harry. But what I wonder is is the right grip removable like the left one? Can you remove it without breaking it? I am just planning to modify original vintage wood grips for it.
Excellent review and demonstration as always JC! Umarex did a great job on this one. Who's going to make the .44 cal Automag pellet pistol replica? LOL Also, yes please make more of your pistols in rifled barrels for pellets. Indoor shooting with alloy pellets is a great winter pastime. Sorry BB's ricochet too much indoors and outside!
The rifled barrel option would be easy for Umarex. They already make the shells and the rifled inner barrel should be no issue. This is one fun pistol😉👍
Since they were able to make to make a replica S&W N frame, they should now make a frame model 19. If I was running Umarex Iwould have made a K frame177,and N frame in 22
Right now on Umarex Germany website under products they sell the M29 3", 6 1/2" & 8 3/8" barreled version. Umarex also has the Classic 5" & 6.5" Bull barrel version. My question to Umarex is why aren't these available here in the U.S. market? By the way how about a 4.75 Colt single action. If you can make the "Ace" version, a 4.75 is possible. Get off your duff Umarex (U.S. & Germany).
Can I ask where you got it? The models I've seen here in the US are the 3" and the 8 3/8" versions. The only 6 1/2" barreled ones I've seen reviews of are in the UK.
I'm in Ontario, Canada and we have the 8'"blued version here now! I just orded one, should be here this week. Any idea what BB shells it takes? Ty you awnsered my question!
The same shells that go in the Colt single action army. You can try to squeeze pellets into the included BB shells. Some are tighter than others. But the standard silver pellet shells definitely work.
I haven't had the best of luck with the bipod the screws have get loosening up or one of the legs themselves have loosened up from the gun I was using them on even with the screw cranked down
@@AirgunDetectives I totally forgot to order pellet shells 😑 and now if I want them I'll need to pay for shipping😐 so I guess I'm blasting bbs @ 500fps for now 😆
FYI...pretty much almost identical to the Crosman SR .357. They use different BB/pellet cartridges though. My guess is both are built by the same factory.
Hi J.C I have been waiting for one of these what a beautiful revolver I all will wait until the pellet version comes out add it to my Dan Weston, hope all it well your way 👌
Like you I dislike the plastic grips, especially on this S&W M-29, and as you have replaced grips on other models with walnut I am wondering if you have tried it on this model. I feel the gun is worth the effort for this upgrade and looking to start this project but wanted to hear your thoughts first. It seems the original Coke bottle grips wont work but looks like maybe the N frame target grips could be modified. I would sure love to hear what you think.
Well l have the ASG Schofield no 3 in battlefield finish or antique as they call it, l was using 177 pellets through it and didn't find it very accurate but still fun to shoot, the hammer us very easy to pull back as its a SA gun the triggers light and the best bit is its ease of load just break it open leave the shells in situ and place the pellets in the cartridge at the top, now l had never used BBs before and l told this to my gunstore friend when l was recently purchasing a SAA peacemaker 45 from him he gave me a packet of 500 BBs free of charge to try out, l was both pleased and surprised at how well they flew and found them far far more accurate than the pellets even though l was always lead to believe pellets were more accurate,, maybe they are thru a rifled barrel but the Schofield isn't its smooth bore and is likely why the BBs flew straighter. So yes its a great gun tho l find the handle a little too far away from the trigger guard and holding it completely by the handle makes it harder to reach the hammer to thumb it back, but by holding the gun higher up the handle it was much easier, its a strange looking gun to my eyes it has something of a steam punk vibe which is probably why it's a favorite in the game Red Dead Redemption or so my son tells me. I currently own, S&W M29 44 Magnum ( Dirty Harry's gun ). Two colt SAA 45 Peacemakers one in silver the other in worn black, the Schofield, and my top favorite gun the Webley Mark VI in six inch barrel. I like all my guns, the colts are incredibly accurate and for some reason l can get 130 ish pellet shots from a 12g co2 cartridge. The Magnums smooth bore not greatly accurate but makes a fantastically loud bang its almost too loud l keep expecting my neighbour to ring me in for firing a real firearm in my backyard lol. The Schofield is fun and now I've discovered BBs will be even cheaper to shoot, but the Webley is in an almost class if it's own it feels reassuringly heavy and solid ( it's built to blueprints from the real gun ) it fits the hand perfectly and seems to aim itself, it's powerful and accurate and looks fantastic.
Again, you helped me decide whether to buy or not. THANKS! :-D You do thorough testing. Especially your accuracy test are really good! You do it as you should do it - tell the distance, and use support to minimize shooters influence. And, for airguns, testing different sorts of ammo, is a necessity. I really don't get it, that most accuracy tests on the net, don't do it that way - because without that info, and doing it that way, the accuracy result one gets, really doesn't tell me anything at all. Then of course, trigger pull and ergonomics also play in, when you don't use rest. So a plinking test makes sense also - apart from the entertainment aspect. :-D I went along ordering the 8 3/8" rifled pellet version of this gun, and should receive it tomorrow. I figure a rifled version at least should perform equal to the BB version - and hopefully a little better. (But the difference will in any case, not be that big.) Of course, these replica airguns aren't intended to be paper punching guns, but beeing able to dependably (not with a spread all over the place) shoot the right size target, make it fully possible to actually do serious target shooting. Just choose the right size targets. I recomend 2-3 times the dependable spread. That way, competing against yourself, or with friends you invite, won't be a chance "hit and miss" story. (Couldn't help not writing that way. ;-) ) Add a barbeque and beer, and everybody will have a really nice time! :-D I already own the Colt SAA 7,5" rifled pellet gun, and feel really happy about the accuracy on that one. So I figure having adjustable sights, should add some other type of experience - provided the gun has enough accuracy, to make them useful at all. Which you have demonstrated this gun obviously does. Again, thank you for another great video, and please keep them coming! :-) P.S. There are so far 3 versions of the shells. I use them all, interchangeable for pellets and ball ammo, in the "Cowboy Rifle" and the Colt SAA - and now also in this gun. I use copper plated lead balls, "Smart BB's". I really seriously doubt there are any intentional design differences, that are aimed toward either pellets, or BB's. The first version of shells rattled a bit more in the gun, as outer diameter is slightly smaller. You can tell which they are, because they don't have a case front rim, to model a bullet in front. Some people claim they give slightly less accuracy. I would say, in these replica airguns, I doubt it. And once the current tooling wears out, there might be a fourth version of shells, just slightly different in some way ... ;-) I'm thinking of de-burring the cases inside, back and front. Just pick the rubber tube out, to get to the inside. They aren't glued or something, just a push fit. That could possibly matter. Either for speed, or / and accuracy. Or not at all. ;-)
I actually went through an entire set of shells and smooth out the interior removing any burrs. It took a couple hours, and in my testing, it really didn't make a big difference. It was a bit disappointing. Also..you found a rifled barrel in the M29? I know they were talking about putting one out I just hadn't seen it yet. Happy Shooting!
@@AirgunDetectives Ha! You just saved me time de-burring 40 cases. And yes, all three barrel lengths, also come either as BB smoth bore, or rifled pellet versions. So 6 versions in all. They are still so new, that even a very large retailer in Germany, which i orde from (it's cheaper than buing in Sweden), one day said they expected it to arrive in a few weeks. But I checked their inventory three days later, and it had arrived. So I ordered immediately. As in these pandemic times, who knows when things turn up from Taiwan. Pandemic is very close to end in Scandinavia. All restrictions have been lifted. Personally, I have socialized outdoors with my neighbours on the beach during the pandemic, and very often bring some airguns. It really hasn't been that different from before the pandemic. You just sit a little further apart at the tables. (No one wears masks. It's never been recomended in Sweden. (All restrictions have been implemented on a voluntary basis, which works fine in Sweden.) A great thing about airguns, is everybody can chat, eat and drink, and commenting each others shooting. A powder powered gun, makes a hell of a lot of "noice", so you couldn't have people sitting around tables, eating and drinking, talking and commenting each others shooting. (With rifles, we usually shoot at 20-25m. Some want to shoot at larger distance, just to show off. ;-D ) We have a large rock just at one end of the beach, as a safe backdrop, so pellets don't end up in the sand, where children and birds might ingest the lead. I rather envy your setting watching your videos. It's seldom that warm and sunny in Sweden. Cheers!
Hey JC, as always another excellent video. I've been watching your videos for a little over a year with my kids. You're one of our favorite channels. I'd like to make a request. Add a public service announcement to your videos warning people that if they go out with an airgun they should be very careful because these easily look like the real thing. Every so often I hear about some kid getting killed by an officer because the officer mistook the kid's toy gun for the real thing. It breaks my heart when I hear about something like that cause I have little kids too. In all my years pesting, I've had cops called on me twice. Luckily, my first time I had been following the law and I was on my own property ratting. I even made sure that I was shooting from an elevated position towards the ground, I had put out food bait in a specific area that was away from possible pedestrian traffic, and I had informed both some of my neighbors and the desk sergeant of the local police district. Unfortunately, I didn't inform all my neighbors. The cops were called, and there was a bit of a hassle untill they got confirmation from the desk sergeant. Luckily I had the desk sergeants name. As soon as the cops had arrived, I immediately knew they must have been there for me, so I immediately identified myself and followed their orders. The second time I had the cops called on me, I had four friends with me and they were all restaurant owners and we were ratting in the alley behind their restaurant. One of the guys forgot to notify the desk sergeant and we got the local beat cop in trouble. Luckily it wasn't serious and no one was hurt. Cops these days have so much more stress to deal with than when I was a kid. We played with replica guns all the time and we never had to inform cops before we went out into the woods or in the alleys ratting. We probably even broke some laws by taking squirrels or rabbits out of season. Today cops have to deal with rampant gang violence. Terrorists. School shootings. Etc. etc. etc. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Thanks again. Stay Safe, Be Well, God Bless.
Ken...the moral to your life experiences, which everyone should follow today...when an officer instructs you to do something...comply and nobody gets hurts. I appreciate you watching👍
If I was in charge over at umarex. If you’re gonna do it. Do it all the way! Wood grips Nice case Cover the screw on the bottom and that would be more enticing. Rifled barrel 6”
I think Everyone is waiting on the Pellet Version Because AAR's Review on the Euro version was weak on Power the American Ver. should do 480/500+ fps. easy.
Hi JC, I'm lucky enough to own the real M29 and really like this replica. Can I use pellets in the shells that come with the gun or do I need to buy extra ones for pellets? And if so can you recommend which ones? Great video and review as usual!
Hi Ed. The silver ones are actually designed for pellets. The insert that holds them is slightly a larger diameter. The same identical shells that go in the Colt single action will work in the M29. Which is also the same shells that go in the Umarex Cowboy rifle, that was one of my first reviews. You can try pellets in the BB shells, but they may be a bit snug depending on the brand of pellets. You need to cherish that real M29, such a classic 👌
@@AirgunDetectives thank you for the detailed information, I didn't know about the silver shells and relationship with different guns. Yes JC my M29 will always be with me.
Hi JC. I normaly stay away from Revolvers I have a Vigilante with a Custom 8 in. Barrel pushing 540 fps with RWS Hypermax Pellets. but man that M29 has the Power i've also noticed that the Umarex guns put out more co2. so I would'nt be Surprized if it Pushes past 550 fps. with the Hypermax Pellets.
im debating between the umarex m29 and SAA(peacemaker). Which one feels the best? Id say im looking for more a of fidgeting gun to mess around with that sounds really good and hearing the metals move around and etc. occasional shooting around. Which would you recommend for my needs? Anyone own both? Which one do you like better and why?
The SAA is less powerful. Its pellet version is very picky to pellet type. But the consistency is quite good. If u prefer DW style double action, you shall pick m29. Its design is better than DW 357 or 715. The rubber seal at the rear will not swelling in high temperature
Hello, Can you tell me where to buy one of these in .177 caliber? I just purchased one through eBay an did arrive but in the 6 mm size. I checked with Umarex, and they said they do not know when it will be available in the .177 caliber. I want to buy one in .177 so I can use the cartridges from my other Umarex air guns.
Hay bro I just purchased the S&W M29 you said the silver Cartrage will shoot pellets which number or model cartrage do I need to look for love your videos keep em coming
Hey Buddy...these will work www.umarexusa.com/colt-single-action-army-45-177-pellet-cartridges-6-pack. Just look around and see who has them in stock. They are also the same shells that go in their lever action rifle.
Great review. you really hit the high points. Just wish they would come out with a 6" or even a 4" barrel. Bought the Crosman SR 357 instead for that very reason. I am really impressed with the finish and especially the grips on the M29. I still want one. Maybe you could do a head to head on the pair.
They do have 6 and half inch Barrel l bought it 2 months ago in North East of England, beautiful gun but l have arthritis in my wrists and hands and l find the handles a little too big for me, my hands big enough but closing around the guns handle sets of the pain, my other guns have longer narrower and thinner grips so they're a lot better for me, lm a big fan of the movies is whyl bought the M29 S&W 44 Magnum Dirty Harry gun but now l wish I'd checked out the grip size first lol. Haven't fired it much as a consequence it looks like new ids one goid upshot l may just put it on display.
@@biggusdickus5986 I know, right? But, check the 2 biggest retailers web sites. If neither Pyramid Air nor Airgun Depot have it. It is a good indication that it is not available in the US. I guess the marketers (mistakenly) believe Americans only want the the biggest, most ridiculously oversized version of everything.
See that Pyramid has pulled the 29 , Glock 17 pellet, and M3 grease gun from its new product announcements. Wonder if that means we won’t see them in. 2021 or at all
Early review on Hard Air Magazine had velocities of low to mid 300 fps for bb and 7 gr lead pellets. Wonder if they were testing emasculated European version. Using same shells as Peacemakers, lower than 5 1/2 barrel Peacemakers
They must have had a defective model. The 8" barrel undoubtedly should increase the velocity over the shorter peacemaker. Even the manufacturer claims 415 fps.

Thanks for your work, its appreciated!!
George welcome! I appreciate you tuning in and thank you for the comments 👍
It is a really nice show piece as well...enjoy 👍
mine was the same way. i removed the rear sight and removed some material from under side from the front screw hole to front of sight. now i have twice the elevation adjustment.
@@edwardallen6175 Which are u calling front screw? Closer to muzze or the rear?
@@Skaetdude muzzle
@@Skaetdude teeder todder if front can go down more than sight can go up more. just remove until the casting circle is gone and that is the perfect amount.
Great gun great review, might have to add this to my collection if only for the diisplay case, very close copy. Takes me back to happier times in the UK before they banned guns in the late 90,s. Happy times with my 629 6inch smashing skittles and metal plates 👍🏴, Best wishes from England, thank you for these videos.

Great info Dan...Thanks for watching!
Amazingly accurate for a smooth bore !
Fun to shoot...they have a pellet version coming out in the future with various barrel lengths👍🏻
Just bought this version. Beautiful gun.
I actually have mine displayed in my office. It's quite the show piece 👍🏻😉
Clint Eastwood carried a 6.5" in the movies, but used a 8.375" one in the publicity shots.
A truly decent looking airgun revolver. Performed way good.
And yes - Dirty Harry is way familiar from movies watched as a kid.
Such a classic icon the Model 29. Hopefully they'll offer a rifled barrel model at some point👍
@@AirgunDetectives Hopefully so. That'd be more than welcome.
What a great gun.44 magnum dirty Harry revolver it's a badass hand gun and shoots well you can't get a better gun than this.
You made my day! Thanks.
I do prefer pellets over bbs. I definitely would buy the rifled barrel and just sling pellets from it all day long. BBs ricochet, aren't as accurate but they're inexpensive as you mentioned. Definitely will buy sometime even if there is no rifled barrel.
I hope they come out with a rifle barrel soon...They should also come out with a 4" version👍
@@AirgunDetectives the 4" would remind me of the model 19 alot. Both of which would look good.

@@AirgunDetectives I really want the 8" M29 I'm a big Dirty Harry fan. I also still want the 715 snubnose. Which do you prefer?

@@AirgunDetectives Haha, fair enough
Umarex knows there limitations . Thank you great review as always .PUNK ........
NO WAY ! not hardly as accurate as even a 38 snub nose or 357 especially a 6 inch python
Great job on demo
I've had the umarex Smith and wesson model 586 with the 8 inch barrel for years and been waiting for the model 29 all that time.
That is a very nice airgun keep up the awesome videos air gun detectives.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Just get a crosman 357
Since they were able to make to make a replica S&W N frame, they should now make a frame model 19. If I was running Umarex Iwould have made a K frame177,and N frame in 22
I have the 6.5” version and have modified the grips to take proper black slotted screws. Looks much better.

I've picked up a pellet version, with 8-3/8" barrel.
& Germany).

Finally got my sticky paws on a 6.5" pellet firer.... All I can say is wow 👍.
Nice video! Can you rotate the cylinder manualy without cock the hammer? Does the bolt lock The cylinder in rest mode?
I haven't had the best of luck with the bipod the screws have get loosening up or one of the legs themselves have loosened up from the gun I was using them on even with the screw cranked down

@@AirgunDetectives I totally forgot to order pellet shells 😑 and now if I want them I'll need to pay for shipping😐 so I guess I'm blasting bbs @ 500fps for now 😆

Awesome video Sir! Why do you think UMAREXUSA doesn’t produce the Smith & Wesson 6.5” .177 PELLET Revolver Replica like they do in Europe?
FYI...pretty much almost identical to the Crosman SR .357. They use different BB/pellet cartridges though. My guess is both are built by the same factory.
Is it possible to put the schoefield rifled barrel in this gun?
Wonder why the fps isnt as high as the Dan Wesson 715 with 6 inch barrel?
They put a rifled barrel in and I’m sold

Like you I dislike the plastic grips, especially on this S&W M-29, and as you have replaced grips on other models with walnut I am wondering if you have tried it on this model. I feel the gun is worth the effort for this upgrade and looking to start this project but wanted to hear your thoughts first. It seems the original Coke bottle grips wont work but looks like maybe the N frame target grips could be modified. I would sure love to hear what you think.
Why don't they sell the 6.5" bbl version in the USA?
What do you think of the Barra No 3. Schofield. I'd really like your counsel. Thanks
The Schofield is fun and now I've discovered BBs will be even cheaper to shoot, but the Webley is in an almost class if it's own it feels reassuringly heavy and solid ( it's built to blueprints from the real gun ) it fits the hand perfectly and seems to aim itself, it's powerful and accurate and looks fantastic.
how do you get 480fps mine and a lot of reviews only average 400fps out of 8 inch version as well
Again, you helped me decide whether to buy or not. THANKS! :-D
You do thorough testing.
I went along ordering the 8 3/8" rifled pellet version of this gun, and should receive it tomorrow. I figure a rifled version at least should perform equal to the BB version - and hopefully a little better. (But the difference will in any case, not be that big.)
Of course, these replica airguns aren't intended to be paper punching guns, but beeing able to dependably (not with a spread all over the place) shoot the right size target, make it fully possible to actually do serious target shooting. :-D
I already own the Colt SAA 7,5" rifled pellet gun, and feel really happy about the accuracy on that one. So I figure having adjustable sights, should add some other type of experience - provided the gun has enough accuracy, to make them useful at all. Which you have demonstrated this gun obviously does.
Again, thank you for another great video, and please keep them coming! :-)
And once the current tooling wears out, there might be a fourth version of shells, just slightly different in some way ... ;-)
I'm thinking of de-burring the cases inside, back and front.
(All restrictions have been implemented on a voluntary basis, which works fine in Sweden.)
A great thing about airguns, is everybody can chat, eat and drink, and commenting each others shooting. A powder powered gun, makes a hell of a lot of "noice", so you couldn't have people sitting around tables, eating and drinking, talking and commenting each others shooting. (With rifles, we usually shoot at 20-25m. Some want to shoot at larger distance, just to show off. ;-D )
We have a large rock just at one end of the beach, as a safe backdrop, so pellets don't end up in the sand, where children and birds might ingest the lead.

Yes JC my M29 will always be with me.

im debating between the umarex m29 and SAA(peacemaker).
Do you think the bluing will wear off over time?
No..I think it is a pretty solid finish if you take care of it. Wipe it down after every use with a little bit of WD40 to remove the finger prints.

DANG. I think SFPD DID ISSUE 41MAGNUM REVOLVERS at one time, Model 57
Your velocities seem more in line with the barrel length. Similar or greater than 71/2 barrel Peacemaker using the same shells
