The fire is to replicate the scene ehere he bursts from the bus on the highway. I literally cant think of anything else he could come with as hes in the movie for about 1 minute. Still one of my favorite movie designs none the less
@@trent7736 I never said he was a boss. And he is actually playable through modding, he comes equipped with a gun and a full melee combo and special attack (mouse 1 + block). Tbh, he wouldn't need the latter 2 if he wasn't supposed to be playable at all, meaning he was meant to at some point.
Too many harsh critics in this comment section due to a very obvious bias against the Bayverse designs. It’s a really good figure that does a lot of justice to a design that doesn’t jerk off the G1 fan-boner. I personally agree with the recommend and I think that while it’s not a perfect figure overall, it’s pretty damn close. If the pain job was up to snuff, this thing would be a knockout.
I feel like I’m the only person that thinks he’s got paint on him ( plus I’d imagine the real vehicle would have a matte finish, atleast looking at em side by side with the studio series versions most of the Mpms do look painted ( to me blackout has this like matte sheen to his plastic) for me personally I love this figure and I’m amazed how screen accurate he is outside the forearms
Such a goofy design, but I like the figure itself, other then it not having paint. I think it looks much more like a Studio Series, not MPM, although they are notorious for not painting them. If a KO, painted version gets released, I may check it out. Thanks for the look Bobby.
Dammit Carl I said Bayformer, not Beigeformer, what the hell. Okay, ill distract the execs you ship em all while they're not looking. Pity as its an interesting vehicle mode.
Great review. I agree that it does 24:40 not quite feel like “Masterpiece“. It’s definitely a step above the mainline, maybe what I would expect for a Haslab (you saw my I opinion on Deathsaurus). I feel like blackout, was definitely a superior release. In terms of mold, articulation, and screen accuracy… This is a great piece. But for the price, I expect more in the way of paint. (if you’re going to wear something, the whole thing) and possibly additional accessories. Definitely happy to add it to my collection, but, but kind of wish I would have played “clearance chicken with it. As always, awesome review. I really appreciate your channel and your content!
It feels like a Leader class figure from the HFTD years (like 09? when they made the AMAZING Optimus and Starscream that themselves were basically MPM quality and scale. Those were the days...). NONE of the MPM figures are painted properly... every last one they've done has absolutely sold the mold short. The KO versions are ALWAYS better because their paintwork does the sculpts justice.... I know that KOs piss you off, but what pisses ME off is the official product NEVER being as good as the KO! Hasbro needs to just go ahead and add $20 or whatever to the price and paint these damn things properly.
See my complaint with these figures is that the movie masterpiece figures are shown with paint on the figure in the products shot on the box, like the whole figure is painted, it’s the same with all of them, but every one I’ve opened do not carry that! I’m being given false advertising and these are expensive figures! I’m getting something worse than what I was promised.
Bummer you missed it then, most of December he was on sale at Target's website with 2 combined coupons that made him almost half off. I picked mine up for $90, an absolute steal.
MPM figures I don’t actively look for. Not the biggest fan more G1 collection. But if I see one when I’m at the store for a steal I may get it. But nice find hope it looks good in your collection!!!
Great review. I'm always curious about these movie MPs but they all look like they were designed by someone who hates TFs, ie:: looking like a pile of scape metal. Still, interesting to watch.
I don’t get the bayverse design for decepticons. If the story line is all the bots lived on cybertron and co existed yet the bayverse design makes all the decepticons completely vile and disgusting and definitely evil looking compared to the Autobots. The look of bone crusher and the devistator bots look completely stupid to me
Tf dream factory steel claw was a waaaay more menacing, movie accurate and all around better figure. I bought one years ago and it blows this mp out of the water. Lemme know if you want to hold on to it to check it out or do a comparison. And don't forget my shout out.
I have them both standing next to each other and while I agree Steel Claw is way more menacing looking and doesn't have weird boxy arms, it's NOT more movie accurate in either mode. And the official MPM's vehicle mode is significantly better, and the MPM moves way better overall (the claw is easier to use and pose in robot mode too). I might just leave Steel Claw in bot mode and display the MPM in vehicle mode. One thing the MPM does WAY better is the transformation, which is actually... really fun!
Hasbro cutting corners again. Won't be surprised in the future if the Masterpiece line will have the waffle look in the arms, legs and weapons like the mainline does. Is there any dicast on this at all? I looked up the word Masterpiece and it read: a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship. I don't think that is what this is, all this is, is an upscaled mainline transformer, I bet that's what masterpiece is going to turn into, just a scale reference and not the best of the best.
@@indentss When Bobby does his reviews, he normally mentions if there is dicast. I don't own the fig, I don't even collect MP, but as Bobby said, and I can see from the review, that this fig is not to the quality standards as most MP figs and many posts agree that it is not. That has nothing to do with being bias. Besides, it's my opinion, if you think it's near perfect, who am I to say that it is not, that's your opinion and I'm happy for you.

I feel like they could've given him the gun he had from the original ps2 movie game.

I think they did a pretty good job with this thing given the design they had to work with. But that sucker needs some paint.
The ol' fire crotch effect!
Even Megatron is easier to get good licensing deals with than Porsche.

But, Bobby…. This one doesn’t have the paint and weathering on it that it should because that’s going to come with the next released version of this.

Agree wholeheartedly
Is this vehicle something that exists in the real world?
Seeing this figure stand up, the only thing that I can think of is George Constanza from Seinfeld. He's the Costanza of the group. lol

Lol😂 only the KOs are fully painted of the mpm stuff.
Was jazz almost fully painted?
CRABFORMERS!!!!!!
Yesssss
If I see him discounted for $40 bucks I may get him like Starscream and ratchet. But they did stay in the box 🤔

for that vehicle the lack of ground-clearance from kibble just makes it look like trash.

Who in their right mind designed that and said, "yep that looks good?"
Is legit accurate af to the movie r u dumb
