well, in my opinion (some will disagree), from what i can see from the 80s cartoon, Cybertron and Unicron are very tiny sized planets, like small moons, so something more akin to the size of the death star, or that of a dwarf planet like Pluto, at most. So those missiles wont really be the size of a country...however, even if i am right about the size of their planet modes, those missiles would still be gigantic, like several miles long!
@@davidez4640 It varies, in the cartoons they were moon sized, in the G1 comics they're the size of Saturn. in IDW Unicron is large enough to hold the Earth in one hand.
@@ZedEcks The Saturn Sizes feel more accurate to me. You're talking about robots that can be huge(Titans) and they are suppose to all fit on a planet the size of a moon? Nah. Saturn sized just makes more sense. Though admittedly we are never told the population size of the whole race. Maybe it was small enough to fit on a moon. Eh guess its up to the viewer.
@@benjaminandrew9057 I prefer the larger varieties too, just feels more epic and fitting for a race of super advanced giant robots that lives for millions of years.
I also own this figure. The main elephant in the room is the transformation, I remember when people complained about the Core Star (Unicron) transformation but I found it very easy, especially compared to this guy. Aside from the transformation, I like everything else. I recommend this figure if you're willing to go through the transformation or have the Unicron to complete the duo.
I have the Studio Cell Unicron - I agree with you, when companies are designing planetary sized robots, 17-18” figures don’t cut it. I love these over the Haslab so much that if they upsized them to between 26-30”, I’d be pre-ordering immediately haha. To get a better sense of scale, I’d go a step further than the Legends scale down to the Dr Wu figures. Looks pretty good.
I came here for the transformation lol 😂 oh it’s a joy to watch SkullFace attempt to transform these panel based transformers ahhh memories of the Unicron hahaha 🤣 loved it !
I can understand why the scale doesn't work for people, but I made the decision to display Unicron and Primus together apart from my main CHUG and main Masterpiece collections. That separation makes the scale disparities not as obvious. I think if you didn't have the luxury of separate areas you could also reasonably keep them on their own shelf within the collection as long as that shelf ONLY had them on that shelf. Also it's a shame the transformation sucks. The internal structure locks together so well, but the outside panels are so difficult to put together.
Those DIY translucent pieces would’ve driven me crazy. I wanted them to make Predaking as well…but judging by the Devastator they’re making, I’m not even sure if the Predaking they make today would be what I want for my collection
Im also itching for a predaking from them... been a long wait, hopefully, when they do, its fully painted. I think in planet mode, if the display had it far in the back, it might pass by the perspective, but then again, if your artistic enough to build one, you options there are better.
The pulse Uni gives me some hope that a smaller Titian Uni and Primus is possible. I'm not a scale nut, but i'd like them to be the biggest things in my collection. Without being as huge(and expensive) as the pulse ver. These 3p seem affordable, but suffer when it comes to transformation and size.
I think my main problem with this figure is that the aesthetics don't match their Unicron at all. On one hand you have the detailed almost CHUG style, on the other you have the clean, toon-accurate look. The two styles just don't gel with each other.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm kind of a slave to the toon aesthetic at this point, so this just wouldn't gel well with the rest of my collection.
I would like a studio one Unicron in bot mode and a haslab Primus in Cybertron mode. I think the size difference would look good. Doubt we'll see an official Primus though.
I have their Unicron and putting it in planet mode was an ordeal and this looks even less fun. I'd happily buy just a non-transforming Cybertron planet toy and put that on my shelf and not bother with Primus as a character
Great lookin figure. Pain in the ultimate ass to line up everything to get it planet mode perfectly. N be glad u didn't hav 2 install them lil yellow orbs. I installed all of mines n i kid u not, my thumb never hurt for as long as it did. Grabbin the smaller ones, even wit teeezers were the absolute worse. Im pretty sure i lost 2 cuz they pop out n disappear into the subatomic universe apparently. Wanted 2 smash this thing so many times but im glad i didn't. After i put him back into robot mode, im NEVER transforming him again. Lol good review buddy. Aint many good ones out there at the moment.
I don't think I'd even attempt that transformation. I gotta give you credit though because out of the couple of reviews I saw you got the closest so far.😂 I'd probably flip a couple flaps and put it right back to robot mode. How's that quote go?, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. I appreciate anyone trying it and wish you a whole lot of luck
This thing SUCK To go from bot to planet. That whole crotch part is complete bull dookie. Only tip I have is connect top and bottom arm panels before fully collapsing the arm in fully. This thing is way worse than Unicron, Like way way way worse to transform. Good luck people!!😂
What a waste. For the price they are asking is almost the same $ as Tidal Wave. The scorpinok is and was worth the price they're asking for in This figure.
The concept of planet-sized Transformer using missiles the size of Chile is unnerving. Now, Turn it into a ball, Bobby!

Bobby really had a ball with this review!

His expression kinda looks like he just watched Unicron take a sh!t on his front lawn...
Great video and a valiant effort on the transformation. If I remember, they couldnt even get the planet closed up in their promo pictures.
I'd settle for someone to make a shell of this in planet mode and sell it as a display piece. I'm fine with a Cybertron that doesn't transform.
I swear the theme to mission impossible should’ve been playing during the planet transformation

I think its inevitable that if you're going to hide all that shell in bot mode something is going to suffer, and its the transformation and Bobby.
Give this man a like and a comment for all he had to endure on this one.
Lol. Love the sticky fingaz/ onyx ref 😂
Jesus take the wheel loll praying for you, Bobby.
Flap Flippin' Fun!! Make it a shirt Bobby.

great review!! Thanks for the info.
Imagine if we got a big Titan scale remake of the Unicron Trilogy Primus
The figure is massive!
I was hoping Hasbro would come out with him after Unicron got into production. Fingers still 🤞🏻 on that one.

I wonder if the sticker that Tiger tracks has on its hood is actually Bobby unmasked.

Is planet mode just another kind of base mode??

The transformation isn't all that difficult. It's just those damned panels in planet mode that royally piss me off.
Still love it, doh.
It looks like a soccer ball partially deflated with a dent in it when you rotate it after it is transformed. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I managed to get it a perfect sphere....so much so i couldn't get it apart :(
Whoa (*Neo voice*)
Would like to see verses with energon primus, not fair I know.
So I don't remember seeing this character in the G1 show/movie. 🤔 Did this character come from the comics or what?
A bakugan gone wrong
Long vid, so once you got to transformation, I set the playback to x2, and now I'm giggling my ass off.
aw yeah skull babies
I like planet mode better. I’d have to work on a legends collection
Evocative?
Anyone else think the “Headmaster” should of been Rung 😅
Feet!
so ZETA is not ZETA anymore and changed their name? Sorry, but I can't keep up with every company in the third party market
I want Predaking and Defensor

Too small. OK, if you're collecting magic square or newage figures 🙄
