@@jonsno3688 more then solid. He’s the best staring centre in the league rn and his underrated impact on his team especially his offensive game and how he helps the grizzlies offence, improved as a playmaker and is a good pnr guy.
JJJ cutting down on his fouls is huge ye, was a big knock on him and his health, if he can stay healthy this team definitely has the potential to go all the way
JJJ has a block rate of 12.6% so far this season. The only other player since 1974 to have a block rate over 10% and and play at least 25 minutes per game is Manute Bol. Of any player season since 1974 with at least 150 total minutes played, JJJ's block rate this season is first. Even with expected regression, JJJ is proving himself to be an all-time shot blocker.
I always got annoyed with how often Jackson Jr. would get himself in foul trouble. I'm glad that he's cut that down. I'd to see him operate in the post more though. Btw, could you do a video on John Konchar? I always wondered what makes him so effective with the Grizzlies.
Main things with Konchar are: defensive rebounding, active hands, smart help defense, cutting ability, relocating off ball, high% shooter, willing passer, high IQ, and overall just a high motor player. He has athletic and size limitations that made him go undrafted and keep him from being a full time starter but dude is undeniably a good basketball player and has been critical in keeping the Grizzlies afloat the past two seasons with all of the injury woes.
I could definitely see him winning DPOY soon, as for improvements I think if he stops fouling too much in the playoffs then the Grizzlies will be even more scary then they already are.
@@bignoob24 If he's not fouling now what make you think all of a sudden he's going to start fouling in the playoffs? Does he have a reputation for not fouling in the reg season and fouling in the playoffs? 🙄
I really wouldn’t be surprised if they were healthy and keep this up they can get to the finals they are dangerous from the starting 5 we haven’t seen play together this year to the bench all the way down the bench this team is young and passionate I really think they can take it this year if they don’t they are a piece away
NBA has so much parity right now, you have 3 contenders in the East (MIL, PHI, BOS) plus playoff powerhouses in ATL, CLE and BKN. The West is a bloodbath though with NOP, MEM, PHO, LAC, GSW, DEN and DAL.
@@damirdamir1180 This is largely true. He is positioned to help, not to rebound. For his maximum value as a defender, he cannot divert his focus too much on rebounding. He isn't planted in the paint like Adams or back in the day Zbo. He is all over the place like a safety. And as you mentioned, he looks for the block so he trails guys looking to ambush their shot, or if he is in the paint he has been coached to jump later than the shooter to take advantage of his length and avoid the foul. This way he can get more blocks, or at least alter shots. But that doesnt help rebounding.
I get what you're trying to say. But he should probably start encorporating that to his game, specially during the playoffs against certain matchups where Adams is unplayable and he'll have to play center more. Plus in terms of hunting blocks and roaming like a safety, Giannis do that and he still avg 10+ reb/gm. Im just saying that avg 6reb/gm for a 7ft is just too low imo even if he's playing along side another big. Atleast 8.5-9 is much more acceptable.
As a grizzlies fan I appreciate the content but I’ve noticed almost everyone is forgetting about the heart n soul of the Grizzlies when talking about their “young core”. Dillon Brooks. Put some respek on my guys name lol
once bane is back, he needs to take a true backseat on offense. They would probably be better off with him taking 10-12 shots a game off more spot ups and cuts, and less of him trying to create a shot. Should theoretically give him more energy for the other side of the ball as well. Contenders.
