Sería bueno que el administrador borraste la otra versión (para guitarra sola y en 6/8 x_X ) y subiese otra con la métrica correcta, pues evidentemente está en 3/4, como lo indica la versión del manuscrito de Ponce.

May I ask if the score for this piece is publicly available? Can I buy this in a music shop, or is this a transcription/arrangement done by the performers themselves?

This one is from Ediciones Musicales Yolotl, I think that is a little bit hard to find this edition outside México nowadays. There are other editions of this work, in case you are interested. I guess by Googling a bit you can easily find them.

Está versión no me gustó, aunque sea contrapunto, realmente siento muy separadas las ideas entre los instrumentos y hasta los instrumentos en sí mismos.

De hecho tienes razón, el tempo es muy lento y la mezcla pone en canales separados los instrumentos, sonando totalmente a que cada quien va por su lado... una versión muy sosa, por no decir algo peor.
Bien tocada y en buen mixing es otra cosa.
