Fabulous playing by Antoni and Peter, I am your new fan now. And Ponce, one of my favourite composers ever, and not because I am Mexican. Reminds me a little of De Falla's Harpsichord concerto, but this is much more melodious/tuneful .
Thanks for the comment, Miguel! Indeed, he must have been influenced by the de Falla piece, since it was written in the same years and for Landowska, who was at the time in Paris. It's a bit of a mystery, though, who Ponce intended to play the harpsichord part, since Wanda was already teaching in Germany that time. Maybe a pupil of her was around, but Segovia's letter shows they tried to find a good harpsichordist for the premiere - probably they didn't succeed with it.
