@karen, "We have lost our [SDA Church] identity?" Would you happen to know what you are saying? If so, do you believe what you said? A person or an institution that has lost its identity is a soulless being -- aimless, without direction to be defined by others -- "tabula rasa." Is this why the church, on some social issues, seems to be flopping on societal's deck like a fish out of water?
If there is any truth to what you said, "the gates of hell" in a limited way have already prevailed against the church, and only a "Remnant of the Remnant" will be saved. God help us as a people and a Remnant Church!

As an African American who does not consider themselves to be overly conservative in worship style, unfortunately I can say that you are absolutely right about doctrine not being preached in our African American churches. To me it’s the same sermon every week, just with a different twist, “God is going to get rid of your haters”, “ Your breakthrough is coming”, and of course making fun of “ mean vegetarians,” and of course being chastised as the face that the “young people are leaving the church.”There is nothing wrong with these topics, we absolutely need them , but when there are no doctrines being preached people will continue to leave the church, there no substance!
I am on the west coast and now attend non-black churches and the phenomenon there is just as daunting. If you believe in social justice you are a very bad person and are not a Christian at all! Anything black related is bad, music, anything. Even some of the Black’s and probably most of the Carribeans subscribe to this thought process.When did this happen?!😳
As you said, I am extremely blessed and proud to be a Seventh-day Adventist Christian. And before anyone says anything, I do not mean “proud” in a bad way. I think that what we have been given is heavy and should be shared with the world as Jesus is soon to come.
Keep preaching only spirit- led messages Pastor Myers, I know that it is hard, but the invitations will come from those who are open to hearing the Word.
Also, thank you for hitting on the independent SDA gossip columnists , Oh I mean , ministries. 😭They along with the other group who have made their own SDA subgroup (“Present Truthers”) of themselves continue to also bash the mainstream church. Somehow they the Present Truth, synomous with holy, ____blicans are better and holier then everyone else. What they forget , the SDA message is present truth and that God has 7,000 that have not bowed the knee. 1 Kings 19:18
The urban apologists have told significant lies on our church so we need a people who are well versed in their Bibles, not nominal Christians but Bible believing Christians.

@@speaktruth8322I agree with you that SOME can be mean and fanatical. However, SOME who do not want to hear anything about the Health Message can also be mean and miserable. That is no excuse for not preaching/teaching the Health Message.
The majority will then forsake us,but we are overcoming and will be victorious, for by the grace of God we are those that keep the commandments of God and have the faith and testimony of Jesus. Heartbreaking yet amazing times that we live in! May we shine as lights of the firmament for our Lord and bring many with us into the kingdom.

There are many precious truths contained in the Word of God, but it is “present truth” that the flock needs now. I have seen the danger of the messengers running off from the important points of present truth, to dwell upon subjects that are not calculated to unite the flock and sanctify the soul. Satan will here take every possible advantage to injure the cause.
But such subjects as the sanctuary, in connection with the 2300 days, the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, are perfectly calculated to explain the past Advent movement and show what our present position is, establish the faith of the doubting, and give certainty to the glorious future. These, I have frequently seen, were the principal subjects on which the messengers should dwell. (EW:62.1 & 63:1)
Current events points us to the nearness of the calamities soon to break out. We need to hear about preparation spiritually, mentally & physically. (PROJECT 25 IS REAL AND READY TO ROLL OUT.)

Good word pastor, our leaders need to remember why they are leaders, they need to go back to preaching the word of God. We are the church of God and not a social club or a political party

Doctrines and prophecies not being preached by some pastors because “present truth” or truth for the end times is too heavy, and it is fear mongering…. Keep the people engaged and prepped with praise and worship! I keep searching but I am not hearing anything from some SDA Church leaders. I feel as if I am in the minority feeling as if we are living in perilous times and that we are nearing the end…. 😢 Where is the “iron that will sharpen iron”? Could it be that this is why some independent ministries are literally stealing our members?

I heard a sermon over 20 years ago when one of our religious liberty persons came to Hawaii. This statement I will never forget, You just kind of mentioned it, He said "is the people who will demand it."

I'm trying to learn how to be more like Christ, and I just can't see how that is helping me achieve that goal

Apart of the prophetic message is to show how apostate Christianity will take over or hijack the government to legislate moral laws and that would highlight some of the evangelical churches doing that , however , some of us Adventist are so aligned with this party that is affiliated with the evangelical that we cannot preach prophecy anymore and we come up with excuses about how it is political to do that

We hope that people do not fall away from the church because they are so aligned with this particular political party. SMH!
The message that was given to this church will never fall away and we must hold to this as its body. But we cannot hold the “Church” higher than the message. The message goes through with our or without the organization! Again I fear the time will come when we will be called out as “SHE” like all in the past have failed…all things repeat, nothing new under the sun.
This is not anti church, it is merely asking the questions we fear most. Through Gods mercy this won’t happen if we heed the warning!

Also, Doggette addressed this with Black pastors in STRONG terms at the last evangelism council session. Very important for our community.
Frankly speaking, I don’t think many of us-pastors or not-understand the POWER and practical connections of doctrine. When doctrines are preached, generally speaking, there’s a dryness and even a kind of schism from the person of Christ. They feel like powerless technicalities. Part of the aversion could be this disconnect. One of the reasons I very much appreciate your ministry-the creativity and personal applications that encircle doctrinal teaching.

The first half of the sermon was excellent. About the second part, I heard only two sermons-three with this one-mentioning negatively the political right.
ONE thing is true: the churches are dying for lack of the WORD of the CROSS.
I don’t remember listening a sermon about JESUS, and HIM CRUCIFIED.
All the doctrines have it’s centered in HIM.
He is outside calling:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)

@@bobbi2235 Lighten up Bobbi! "Repentance" is so much more. What comes into the church is not the sole reason we need repentance. One needs to reflect upon who we are, our relationship with God, and how we treat one another. "Repentance" calls for action, and steps must be implemented to experience its purity.
@raquelgarcia1075, You are correct; "repentance" is needed today as John the Baptist did back then. And so we need it in the 21st century. One may ask why? "Repentance" is a word like "love," often spoken but seldom understood. Most people confuse feeling sorry for their sins with repentance.
This is not it.
The Bible says much on the subject. Consider this faulty understanding of "repentance": "Multitudes sorrow that they have sinned and even make an outward reformation because they fear that their wrongdoing will bring suffering upon themselves. But this is not repentance in the Bible sense. They lament the suffering rather than the sin" (White, Steps to Christ, p. 23).
The question remains: What is true repentance, and what are its characteristics? More upon request.

Thank you for addressing this agenda. I have been searching for for the church to acknowledge and call out Project 2025 for what it is whether it is implemented or not. This is what we have been preaching about since our founding. We should be the ones proclaiming the dangers of adopting such policy. We’ve been decrying “religious liberty,” “separation of church and state,” but where are we now? The secular world is up in arms. Why aren’t we?

Amen. If we don't get invited to preach go to the people who are in the highways and hedges.
So sad but true...our youth can't give an answer for many of our foundational doctrines because THEY HAVEN'T BEEN TAUGHT!!!! The pulpit has become a center of weekly entertainment with little to no substance. Is it any wonder they leave when nothing substantial is offered that will help to keep them grounded?

i have been SDA all my life, and that is 50 years now. My parents read to us SOP when we were little kids and these words have always been with me.
They used to preach in church the present truth up until some 30 years ago and then they stopped. Now if you dare to say something they frown at you, you are an alarmist. We must preach only love and obviously they do not understand that the present truth message is about love because we should warn people of coming doom if we do not get on the same path with God and repent. We know that the church will look as if it has fallen but it will not fall because there are people who are faithful to the truth and to the mission. Last Sabbath I mentioned again this project 2025 during our sabbath school and saw some members literally sleeping. I feel pain in my heart, they are just not interested. In Croatia where I am from, I am afraid rocks will have to start talking unless this hail storms we have lately with hail big as apples hits some over their head and they wake up! Thank You pastor for speaking about this matter.

I have preached it in the state of Georgia and many have no idea of this project. Not only that but Roger Severino the vice president of project 2025 has an interview on the website entitled Why we should be thinking about Rome. Roger Severino once worked for Trump under the civil and justice department and he is also a Roman Catholic. So within this movement led by many Evangelicals has the Roman element.
None of the above vote. I WAS DEEPLY COVICTED after I voted in 2015. And have not voted since. I seen back then and I mean On the last day to vote. That I repented. Which was confirmed after I seen Walters Trump Card video. Back then I knew that he would bring in church and state.

Thankyou thankyou thankyou, I’ve been searching the Adventist speakers and the silence on this topic is staggering…but not unexpected as history has always shown the failure of Gods people.
You are still being very polite! As a Canadian who lived and worked in the US for a number of years, I have been following this for some time. But not through the church but rather through the media as those rocks are crying out loud and clear.
You are right about political idolatry, but to be more direct the SOP recommends is to not be involved in politics because we do not know the powers at play behind these lines.
We are not to call the world to a better world! Come out is our cry.
I fear to say this…but a time may come when we may be called out of our church, not into another church!! But into God’s MOVEMENT.
I see our pastors and other employees being silent and afraid!! This will become a message of the laity and must be taken up by us!
Please pray for me to have courage to follow this path.
We are coming to a time when we will be standing alone and only our wrestling with God will we be sustained.
Keep courage friend, stand and be counted. You may lose your pulpit but you will gain HIS pulpit!

Just another note: I was surprised to find Dr. Ben Carson on the project 2025 committee…again this was shared by the news media!! And that he is preaching from our pulpits that 2025 project is a message of hope. Oh how I pray for him as so many much greater men than he have fallen in our history. I hope someone has reached out to give him counsel. These days coming will not be easy ones! If JUST politics are splitting our churches, how much more so will Christian Right soon take up its bloody sword!!
But in this chaos, glory be to God that we are entering a time when our message is relevant and current. The door is wide open,…then soon it will be shut!

Pastor Myers, to answer your question howcome our young people enter college without knowing what we believe? It's because their parents most likely also does not know what we believe directly from scripture and did not know how to systemically and biblically teach it to their children.
Or if the parents do know the doctrines, their examples do not reflect Jesus who is the Lord of those teachings and therefore is a turn off.

@@powerofthelamb Slow your roll on that confirmation. Every child or their parents attending our colleges were not raised in Adventism. Some of the "blame" is on our method and speed of evangelism. Sometimes, we do the right thing for the wrong reasons (evangelism/baptism/numbers). Add failure to give a consistent, spiritually balanced diet, and one can easily understand the feasibility of our College students' basic Bible knowledge is not a far stretch.

This is an important topic to discuss and prepare for, whether it happens sooner or later is up to God, however your hang up on covid and the vaccine is ironic because many of us who were aware of end time events sat up and took notice of long before project 2025 and are absolutely taking about project 2025. Many, many SDA’s are aware of it and have proven they have the courage to stand for God. Covid and mandates were just a training ground. Praise God for His leading.
@@joyagain4843 sis, many who are speaking up about Project 2025 and have the courage to do so were vaccinated and saw no relevance in the anti vaccination hysteria. Does this not demonstrate that Covid wasn’t a “test” to prove who was a real Adventist and who wasn’t?
@@powerofthelamb it’s never been about who got one and who didn’t, it’s about those who stood for freedom of choice. We will all need to stand again when our freedoms are taken away when it comes to freedom of worship. God is a God of free will, free choice. My prayer is that people see it now more than ever.
@@joyagain4843 freedom of choice was not the issue with Covid. This was a false dilemma. No one was forced to be vaccinated. Yes there were choices to be made but no one was forced. This was not a religious freedom issue. It was a political one.

As a youngster, I wondered why my parents weren’t into politics and didn’t vote. I agree it is American’s constitutional right to vote. And I suppose that Americans whose rights were previously denied, feel especially impelled to vote in political elections.
I seemed to remember that God spoke through His prophet in these last days warning us not to get involved in politics and voting.
So I did a search on the word, “vote “ in the EGW Writings and boy! Did I ever get my questions answered!!
I ENCOURAGE all my brothers and sisters in Christ, to do the search in her writings and see what she had to say in various different writings.
Pastor and Sister Meyers, will you please be bold, and do a study form the Spirit of Prophecy writings, then a talk about the subject of politics and voting, 1:14:45 from this perspective.
I will never vote again!! Especially after reading these things.

And to focus specifically on the prophecies of the Bible in Matthew 24 and Luke 17 Jesus said “where the corpse is there the Eagle will gather”. The Jesuits call themselves ‘Perinde ac cadaver’ which means to be as if a corpse. The eighth king of revelation 17 is also the Jesuit corpse of Matthew 24.
Project 2025 has at least 900 pages. On March 1-2, 2024 the Northren California Conference SDA church had an summit held by Religious liberty At PUC campus. They also held and OPEN forum TO ANSWER QUESTION. You can find it ON RUclips. I'll send you the link. Please correct! It lasted at least 2 days. THERE WERE OPEN DISSUSSION WITH ALL WHOM ATTENDED. Makes me wonder why Dr. Ben Carson is a part of it.

I was a fan of Ben Carson before, then I realized that he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing even before he was a stooge for Trump. It was validated by his participation in Project 2025.
Pastor, let me give you a very brief testimony to hopefully encourage you. I myself use to be very political on the conservative side. I was consumed with the political world so much so that it caused me to be extremely angry. That is until I watched your Back to the Basics, E.I.T.R., and Matthew 24 series. I have since let go of the politics, and have been preaching essentially this message through prophecy in my Church. I’m also starting a Bible Study group that is heavily influenced by you Photo-theology method.
We may be few but there are more and more people that are coming back to our truth I feel. Even though I still get lots of kickback from the politically driven SDA’s.

To put FAITH in practice is the true KNOWLEDGE of Jesus Christ: this is where the two are walking together: when I REST in Christ, Jesus is WORKING PERFECTLY, according to the Father's WILL.

I found out about Project 2025 months ago and tried to tell my family to look into it but they brushed me off. Not all Adventists have slept in this thing. It’s just people don’t want to wake up and hear it
It takes a community to raise a child and Adventist has operated like a business-- imagine being SDA and paying tithes which the conference takes 100% of and then can’t afford to send your kids to SDA schools the Bible says God says to “….bring the tithes to the store house so there is food to feed my people”

It seems to me that the onslaught of prophetic last-day events, even since Covid, have many SDAs fearful of the 3 Angels Messages, causing personal persecution.
i've enjoyed many of the sermons, talks of Pastor Myers, especially those you did on the scapegoat. i've watched you several times, and when ADL did a video on one of your talks or when you were on with them. there's much a could say on this one, but i will try to keep it as brief as possible. i can get long winded, both been told and realized myself. project 2025 is something we should be watching very carefully and preach the dangers of. then throwing the pendulum swing of European countries to the more conservative side even brings more credence. watching videos from some of the leaders in the project, they are, or could be disturbing. you mentioned the sunday bill, the Blair bill brought into the Education and Labor committee by Senator Henry Blair as the only other time when there was a push for sunday. perhaps there wasn't as much of a push or a lack of support for it as in 1888, but in the early 80's thru the later decade, Jerry Falwell and his moral majority along with the Lord's Day Alliance made a push with the political right for the same. i, personally heard the ranking senator from my state say "any thing that Jerry Falwell endorses i support." i watched the televised rally in Charlotte, NC, broadcast because Reagan flew in for it. there were some within our ranks then who considered the senator a friend to SDAs because of his words in support of religious liberty. they were shocked when i told them what he said. this was of course, back in the 80's and the internet was not yet or at best not available to many as today. i wonder this though. not long ago, many of our speakers, pastors, and the laity were high on proclaiming the evils of the "Green Agenda," Laudato Si', the "Green and Earth sabbath." lest we forget, there is a call in Laudato Si, i believe in sections 6 and 8 that call for not only a return to worship on sunday but participation in the eucharist, keeping the church's "holy days" and the veneration of Mary. and the left side of the political isle, especially the far left, is pushing this. and we shouldn't forget the latest COP meeting where even beforehand, the push for all governments to accept Laudato Si was well publicized. i've seen several videos where protestant, evangelical churches have done sermons calling for their members to observe an "Earth Sabbath," on sunday's. it's quite apparent the devil, and the RCC hierarchy has it's hands in both, as it's always done whatever it sees as necessary to keep itself alive, to advance it's agenda, even if it means a show of support for evil men in the ruling government. i consider myself a-political, meaning a protestor of both parties. one who can fully understand the saying of Mark Twain when he said, "politicians and diapers have much in common. they are both full of excrement (cleaned that up a little) and in need of changing often." another statement that's one of my favorites about politicians comes from a movie, but is quite accurate. "i'm a politician. i kiss babies on their heads while i steal their suckers." the sunday law is coming. that's a definite. from which side, politically speaking? either i say. yet, just as the dragon, the sea beast and land beast are of one mind, does that mean they are in agreement on everything? remember, satan's counterfeit is always inferior to God's truth, as long as he has his way he doesn't care if you believe or if you surrender to it to survive, the mark in the forehead or in the hand shows us that. personally, i can easily see a union on the point of sunday from both sides. one for ecological reasons, the other to promote their version of Christianity. i guess you could say, just my 2 cents worth.
How sad to see our church been envolve on politics.

Ok, I think we need to clarify something…There is a nominal church and there is a denominational church. Not everyone that says is a Israelite is a true Israeli. The weed and the tares are growing together… I heard of this 2 years ago, and I know the other have spoken about. That doesn’t mean that people really want to listen to the truth.

We just saw a video at our church this last Sabbath, about Project 2025; presented by our Conference President and in my mind I had a lot of questions about it. It didn't sound right to me. But I don't think it is the same Project as what you 2 are talking about. I just find it interesting that our SDA Conference has also come up with a 2025 Project.
