I prayed for my spouse for 12 years. I tried to force religion on him, nagged him but nothing ever worked. I stopped pushing him & but kept praying for him. & one day he just changed.. it might have been gradual but it must have been too subtle to notice. The work of the Holy Spirit on the heart cannot be forced nor seen. But you can see the after effects of His work. & I believe changes brought by God will last much longer, even eternally, than what us humans can ever do..

I did not understand what you meant Pastor Doug when you said that some prayers don't get answered because we stopped praying 5 min too soon (ca 30:50)? Can someone explain please? Thank you. Do you mean if I pray for 3 days and then I stop I show lack of faith and can no longer receive the answer because I did not pray until the answer came? Trying to grasp the "mechanics" behind prayer. For God wants to answer our prayers and He knows before we pray what we need.. so I guess I just don't fully understand how this works. But I do believe we should pray.
I am truly blessed by this sermon. I do pray but I believe I am not as faithful. My question is, my parents who were in their late fifties, were faithful prayer warriors, always involved in reaching out to others with God's love died a year apart, mom after a short illness and dad of a heart attack. And we were all praying...I am a widow...why didn't God answer me, and heal them, mom dad, my husband...was it because I was weak?💔
God is there for you my sister. Hold on to His promises. He'll never leave us nor forsake us. He is with you, keep praying, never give up. The resurrection morning is promised, you'll meet your loved ones then.
God accepts you just as you are. Just as you have never sinned before. Surrender to God in faith and believe that he will help. You will surely receive the help you requested
A few months ago I was listening to a speaker (dont remember if it was a pastor or motivational speaker) who confidentely stated that we do not have to ask God for things over and over again because He heard us the first time and know our needs. This was rather confusing to me and my spirit was unsettled by his counsel as I questioned what I learned from youth wondering if what he said is really true. The devil is a liar indeed and does anything to prevent us from obtaining the best from God. Pastor Bachelor, your sermon backed by Scriptures is proof that not everyone who seem to be lead by the Lord really allow the Holy Spirit to ALWAYS speak through them. I am truly grateful for this sermon. It is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you for this timely encouragement. I shall persist in effectual, fervent prayer for EVERYTHING and be drawn closer to God by the help of His Holy Spirit. May God continue to bless you, your family and ministry dear pastor.

My father and all my siblings died.. prior to their death my mother prayed for each one of them over the course of 25 years.. they all ended up dying anyway. I told her to please DON''T PRAY FOR ME.. .prayer kills.

Possibly Pastor Pavel Goia who said that the only time you repeat your prayer (persistent prayer) is if it is a salvation issue
