I had the pleasure of hearing Bret Louis Stephens yesterday, April, 2016 at a temple in Highland Park, Illinois. He was fabulous! And the only thing I have to say after reading a lot of these responses is if you haven't anything good to say and not hateful, don't say anything at all!!

I think Ari, who is more like center left Times of Israel than Haaretz guy, makes one cardinal misjudgment and it is his wish for Diaspora Jews to have any say in Israeli politics. I think Bret is 100% and wins not just on points but all judges present should give him high 5 and none to Ari, though he is very good as well, I must admit.
I am such a fan of Brett Stephens. I can listen to him for hours and hours! Sorry I missed this convention.

No offense, but i have done a number of pro-Israel events on campus, and Bret is out of touch. Ari is right. I know this sounds strange, but I have seen multiple like Bret try to explain how easy it is to defend Israel on campus by listing facts. If another war happens in Gaza while universities are in session, it will be exactly as Shavit says.
