Loving all these videos of Japan! The only person I'd known who'd been to Japan hasn't been there in at least a decade so it helps me to see how friendly the people can be and how delicious the food looks!

Hey, Mark! Great video! I've always wanted to visit Osaka. By the way, that soft boiled egg is called Onsen Tamago. The cooking process is really different, almost like a sous vide. The egg meets the boiling water with the heat off and then both come to the same temperature slowly, that's why the yolk is "molten" not runny. Marries perfectly to the udon. And that chilli powder is called shichimi, which contains seven spices, including roasted orange peal, that's why it's light and fragrant. A must have for udon eating. Have a nice trip and enjoy Japan! ;)
