i've always thought about doing a cover of this song but wasn't sure whether it would fit my voice or not. thank god i decided to go "fuck it, we ball" because this was so fun to record and i REALLY love how it sounds. recording several vocal layers, though tiring, is always super fun for me.
also heads up! the characters in this video aren't my ocs necessarily, i just wanted to come up with some random sapphics to put in my video. feel free to give them any sort of headcanons you want. make them trans, nonbinary, lesbian, bisexual...go ham! who knows, maybe i'll start a Sapphic Cinematic Universe of sorts with the characters i come up with for these videos.

I like this version. I was singing to myself a female version replaced "if Eve ain't in your garden..." with "if you're not with your Adam...", but regardless of how you interpret it, I like it 😌

(Also, silly detail perhaps but love how you took out a slur you can't reclaim without making it "clean". It's not a song for little kids anyway, you should be able to curse if you want!)

I tried recording vocals for fun (it was not fun) and it really helps make you appreciate how hard layered vocals are. At least for me, can't say I'm certain about everyone else, since I'm blind as a bat when it comes to tempo and beats

This...this works pretty well for one of my stories. In it, two of the side characters sometimes talk about "what happened in Egypt" and though the audience never finds out, it's implied that what happened was...along these lines. And one of the two characters is a trans woman, though I wasn't able to bring that up naturally in the story.
Edit: Yep, this inspired me to write a full AU story with the characters mentioned above! It's called "Call Me By Your Name".

Okay.... You said you're okay with headcanons... so I... *Ahem*
Besides the fact that I have a WILD CRUSH on the girl bartender, I (as well as a couple other people in the comments) headcanon her as a transgender bisexual girl named Miranda (I have no explanation for this, I just really like the name Miranda for some reason and I think it suits her). I think she is quite tall, 187cm, Also, since the cover art doesn't show her hands, I allowed myself to assume that she might have those same sapphic nails (long nails on the thumb, little finger, and index finger, and short ones on the middle and ring fingers). I think Miranda works part-time as a bartender at an LGBT establishment while getting a higher education in management. Perhaps she is very goal-oriented and strong, and wants to open her own establishment in the future. Well... The lady in the strawberry dress is Emily, Miranda's former classmate.
Emily was homophobic and transphobic in school, which was due to her not being able to accept her own sexuality (Emily also bi too). So in high school, Miranda and Emily didn't get along (to put it mildly). I headcanon that Emily is studying to be a doctor. The situation depicted in the art and to which the cover refers is a chance meeting between Miranda and Emily a few years after graduating from high school. I think Miranda was a bit snide towards Emily at first due to her being homophobic in the past and now meeting at an LGBT establishment, but eventually they were able to talk and discuss everything related to the topic, and they also told each other about how their lives had changed since graduating. Well, and then they developed... mutual interest.
