  • sound quality needs improv (Be WARNED sound gives headache with headphone-sorry) vid quality and fps are good - may play again in near future this vid recorded with NO save-states so some deaths; did little practice. candy chat real diff and better moskito flight fun. Again this LP of this version of Rayman is quite difficult to find but there are some LPs on this on the sat ver there are almost no LPs. PLAYED on emulator-no save states used.

*This* is the best game the Jaguar has to offer?
Don't get me wrong, Rayman is an incredible game, but the fact that the Jag is aggressively marketed as a 64-bit console (which it isn't, it's just two 32-bit CPU's next to each other) and the fact that it showcases some 3D capabilities, a 2D pixel side-scroller that looks like something you'd see on the Genesis and/or SNES being the best the game can offer is kind of pathetic for the console it's on. No wonder it became multi-platform soon after.

The jaguar was a complicated console and was used mainly cartridges like n64 so games were not that complex as memory stored on a cart is less than on a CD. I think there was a disc system add on for jaguar but it failed like n64DD. It was too difficult for third party developers to program for due to the two CPUs so in reality it was 32bit not 64 because most developers made use of only one CPU. It may have had potential but it was hard to produce games for and there were no good first party games to showcase its hypothetical power. Heck it was hard to find a good emulator to record this off when I recorded this video now bizhawk has this a jaguar core too. So jaguar is a mediocre system with a few good games.

I'm honestly surprised that the Jaguar hardware can even run this...
