- Unemployed and branded a trouble-maker, Jaikishan lives a poor lifestyle in a slum-area called Asha Colony, very near Andher's Lokhandwala Complex along with his sister, Seema; mom and dad. He comes to the rescue of a homeless orphan, Mili, who suffers from a deep inferiority complex, and permits her to live with his family. Brutally outspoken, he believes that India should be awarded unlimited gold medals for corruption at all levels, fully aware that these beliefs portray him as a 'revolutionary', and prevent him from securing any gainful employment. His life will be turned upside down when he refuses to go along with the plans of the Khan family - consisting of builder, Majid; his goon brother, Farid, and their seemingly benevolent father, Jahangir. His family will also be traumatized after the Police arrest him for the alleged broad-daylight murder of Farid.

Nana kadar khan and Jackie all r given author backed role. I wonder how come kadar is so underrated among character artist of bollywood, he is equally good as amrish puri and kher, but unlike them kadar is more a writer with powerful voice. Kadar is very versatile with very good over the top comic style and he can perform serious roles as well. This is one movie along with Shaan where mazhar khan impresses me a lot, he plays a obidient son of khan with some moral values. Kiran Kumar is equally good, without uttering a single word he emotes a volume with his eyes. He looks deadly as a trusted henchmen of kadar khan who evokes empathy from us by the end. Watch him dye on the lap of khan. Story is similar to any indi version of godfather where kadar plays Brando but here is the twist al pachino here is Jackie shroff who is on the opposite side of khan. James Caan a hot headed elderly corlione is played so well by ever efficient Nana. His plight for his ill retarded son and loving wife is heart endearing and your heart feels for him despite his being negative character and that's the win of his performance. Despite of sharing screen space with khan and Jackie for so many scenes in the movie, and even all of the trio getting equally good dialogues and author backed role, it's sheer magnitude of Nana's presence he steal the show from other two in many scenes instead of his being a character with least moral stand. Jackie ofcourse is the protagonist of the movie, who went through all the sufferings, who fight for the cause. He also have few emotional scenes with his reel father and dimple kapadia which etched out really well, thanks to the superb direction. Movie is well handled commercially with feel of parallel cinema. U get the goosebumps through out the proceedings. This is definitely if not best one of the bestest work coming from bollywood.
