Hi, and thank you for showing the coat in such detail. It looks perfect on you. I am 162 cm , 55 kg and have broad shoulders/upper back/chest. My MM coats are all 40 or 42. But I would like to be able to wear this one with a really chunky sweater. I'm afraid 40 would be too tight in the armpit/upper arm area, and 42 would be too long. My local store doesn't carry it at the moment. Any advice on which size to order online? My main wish is to be oversized. I can return it and order again. Thank you ❤

Anyway, hope a 40 won't be too small in the upper arms, I'd really love to be able to wear it with chunky knits, and I'm not very slim (162/55). Don’t your Teddy keep getting unbuttoned? I’m 5’4”, usually XS/S and I ordered the camel hair version in XS and S to compare. XS fits fine, but probably slightly tight in the shoulder area. S is quite big (but okay for and oversized relaxed look). But both keep opening up when I move around in them!

Hi, the Madame has definitely more shoulders room than the Manuela (more structured). I would go for the same size 40 in the Madame as it already come with a looser fit xx

I think you have to go to a store and try it on. For instance I tried the Manuela and the Madame and I’m a size US 6 in Manuela and a size US 2 in the Madame. So every coat fits different. Good luck!

I was thinking for my next coat to be the Max Mara Madame in 40 or 42IT, but now you got me all confused. I'd like it to be really oversized, so i can wear it with a blazer or a chunky sweater and still have room. I was planning to buy it within the next couple of years, but then I thought - the prices are going up, the quality of literally everything is deteriorating... If only I could find it in dark grey... It seems dark grey can't be fuond in the EU, and I'm not paying almost double the price/ordering from outside EU. Your is tobacco, right? Or caramel? On EU MM site the caramel looks exactly the same as tobacco on non EU sites 🤯 first world problems 🙊
