I am an italian musician and i played with him in Itay for 30 years ago in a concert outdoor.
The reaction of the public, almost 100.000 people, was the same than you. Tears of greatness for the music and the voice, perfect mix.
We did this song 4 times more.
Wow you must be a great musician to play with Luciana Pavarotti!!! What an honor! I teared up too. When I hear very beautiful classical music I feel like a bit of heaven was allowed down on earth for us to enjoy. Kathy from philadelphia
M M BRAVO PAISAN BRAVO
@Fook Yu have you ever listened to BENIAMINO GIGLI?
Italy
Thanks to god to send us Luciano Pavarotti on Earth
You just heard the greatest male tenor voice who ever sang a note. He had the voice of an angel. May God rest his dear soul.
No matter how often he sang this aria, he always put a lot of emotion into it. That is what the greatest singers of any genre do.
I had concert tickets to see Pavarotti perform one fall. Months earlier he announced he had cancer, and ended up dying. It was the concert I always wanted to go to, that I never got to see. I still have my ticket.
Lol....only of you're a sheep and a follower of the crowd.
I've been listening to Opera for 20 years. Been to London, Berlin and Rome. And without a doubt, Franco Corelli is the greatest tenor of all time and Pav even admitted it himself.
@@5thtimeaccountdeleted.206 It's all about opinions. We can't all feel the same about the same things.
@@5thtimeaccountdeleted.206 Carelli was great! But Pavarotti held the note and you felt it in your bones and the tears flowed.
i love how she doesnt stop and interrupt the songs like others do
Indeed makes no sense you can’t listen to a song I you pause it all the time those people make it more about them than the song.
Her face speaks volumes, so no need to comment as much 😀👍🏼
TRUE THAT!
they interrupt bc of copyright infringement rules on YT. She's a boss...DGAF. LOL
@@yellowbmblbee ok, interesting
The lyrics talks about the princess Turandot and the "unknow prince". The prince gave to her one last riddle to solve: knowing his name before the dawn comes. If she will, he will be killed, but if she fails she'll marry him. So the princess gave order to servitude to stay awake all night long, trying to find the prince's name. Litterally "nessun dorma" in italian means "no one will sleep". And my favorite passage: "Tramontate stelle, all'alba vincerò" (Set, stars! At dawn I will win) celebrate this great poem of triumph.
Sorry for my rusty english, and greetings from Italy 😉😘
No that was a wonderful explanation. I had heard it before but couldn't describe it as well as you. Thank you, Kathy from Philadelphia
Thank you very much, no rust to apologise for.
I tip my hat and raise my glass to you, cheers from Scotland. Be well.
Has loved the song but never understood its meaning until your explanation! Thank you.
Thank you. Finally, someone translates for us who can't speak the language to even know the story. Youare so kind.
More prcisely, "nessun dorma" is an imperative, so "no one sleep".
I've seen this at least 50 times and Pavarotti still gets me choked up every time!
I know right!?!
Same, give me tears and chills everytime
im the same everytime
It has something to do with copyrite laws not sure which country. If you are appraising a song/singer you should pause in the song somewhere.
🇦🇺🇦🇺😷😷
It's not understandable. I've watched every reaction and listed intently and always end up just like you said. Magic.
I'm not a religious person but i think God loaned us an Angels voice in Pavarotti, Much love from Scotland ❤
God's not religious either
God is not a religion he is a relationship
Mr. Pavarotti took the gift that God gave him and Blessed us with it. This is what we are all meant to do, but so few of us do. In my opinion, it is one of the basic reasons why we see so much trouble and turmoil in our world.
My prayer is that every one of us human beings will find that God given gift and nurture it to become a Blessing to ourselves and everyone around us.
Peace.
You should be religious after hearing that.
This is a gift, and no "relationship".
Sometimes I think this is the kind of music we will hear when (God willing) we make our way to Heaven!
I have never been able to listen to him sing this song without tears and chills. Not ever.
It's a sad story...you can look up the plot summaries online.
I always tear up at the climax. Without fail. I could be driving, showering, etc and it just fills my body with so much emotion
Amen. I love people reactions especially those that have never heard opera before
You don't necessarily "understand" opera. You FEEL opera.
You don't just listen to opera, you feel it, whether you understand the language or not
I understand that is what opera is And it’s the feeling and expression of The Voice. I just wish I understood the language. That is all I was saying.
@Cela Whitney Bocelli is very weak in comparison to Pavarotti in my opinion. He’s never been an opera singer.
@@lgk4008 I don't know why, but youtube opera videos seldom have the subtitles, whereas the broadcasts usually do, at least in the UK.
@@lgk4008 right you can understand it without knowing the language but when you know the language it's even better!
exactly
As someone who listens to thrash metal (Metallica, Slayer etc), one cannot but feel in awe at Pavarotti's voice. This song alone sends chills down my spine and is truly phenomenal!
When the final melody comes in it is so powerful, sometimes a tear drops out of my eye.. I don't even know what he is saying.
No sleep, no sleep
Nessun dorma, nessun dorma
You too, o, Princess
Tu pure, o, Principessa
In your cold room
Nella tua fredda stanza
Look at the stars that tremble
Guardi le stelle che tremano
Of love and hope
D'amore e di speranza
But my mystery is closed in me
Ma il mio mistero e chiuso in me
No one will know my name
Il nome mio nessun saprà
No, no, I'll say it on your mouth
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
When the light shines
Quando la luce splenderà
And my kiss will break the silence
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio
That makes you mine
Che ti fa mia
(No one will know his name)
(Il nome suo nessun saprà)
(And we must, alas, die, die)
(E noi dovrem, ahimé, morir, morir)
Vanish, o night
Dilegua, o notte
Set, stars
Tramontate, stelle
Set, stars
Tramontate, stelle
I'll win at dawn
All'alba vincerò
I will win
Vincerò
I will win
Vincerò
he talks in the music language we all born with it
@@buttthecat1354 Thank You!
I said this same thing to myself.
only one tear?
Opera is meant to give you an emotional overload. It's an extreme form of music, and you have to let it consume you to get the whole experience.
I have tears in my eyes every time I hear Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma.
Me too
not that it consumes you, it leaves away your old self, you are reborn from it, it makes you shed your old self to reveal something beautiful in you
Always overwhelming. A voice that never dies...
It's from Puccini's Opera Turandot. This is the sound of Victory. Read the story being told in Turandot.
His face at the end brings me to tears every time. One of the best feelings a musician can have is taking in the music at the end, truly euphoric.
He just went in another dimension.
To me his expression at the end asks, “Wait! Where did I transcend to? Okay. I’m back. I hear applauses so I must have delivered.”
To me his expression at the end asks, “Wait! Where did I transcend to? Okay. I’m back. I hear applauses so I must have delivered.”
He was the greatest. You were lucky that you heard him sing it for the first time.
The Italian best artist ever. Simply the legend.
Nick Nick THATS WHY PAISAN BOCELLI CALLS HIM MAESTRO
one of many :D
history is filled with great italian ARTIST's and he certainly belongs AMONG them.
@@mosesmartinez4364 Everyone, not just Bocelli, called him maestro😉
The greatest tenor of all time. What a voice!
The fact you actually got emotional makes this actually worth watching, not like the emotionless other channels I've seen. Great stuff!
You cannot listen to Pavarotti and not get emotional
I cant see anyone even approaching this man's natural talent for a very long time. Unique, beautiful, immortal.
Really now ? I am not saying he wasn't good or he didn't deserve the recognition he had but have you ever heard the name Andrea Bocelli ??? Just check him out and then we talk ! :)
@@georgeisaak5321 Andrea Bocelli is a disgrace to operatic singing. What the hell.
@@Ignasimp your opinion is noted, however i disagree with you whatsoever. I don't know the reason you say that and honestly i couldn't care less about it. You are either musically deaf or there is some weird motivation behind it.
@@georgeisaak5321 Andrea Bocelli doesn't even have opera technique. He is way too light. He has not properly developed chestvocie. His is breathy and raspy. He needs artificial amplification. He only got famous because he is blind because as an opera singer, he id terrible. As a pop singer he is passable because todays pop singing is really bad.
You really have no clue about opera if you think Bocelli is anywere near being an opera singer. Yet you have the nerve to say I'm musically deaf.
How many opera singers do you know? Who are you comparing Bocelli to to think he is so great? To Justin Biever? Compared to him he id awesome, I'd give you that.
@@Ignasimp You sir act as a spolied little kid who can't get what it wants . First of all i will start by stating the obvious here , i don't need to prove my point to you for that matter , second why would i bother when i see how you act so far ? Third what would possibly change even in the tiniest percent if i mentioned feew names when you are clearly not prepared to listen to other people opinions ?
You know what , you are right , he is horrible , he is nothing , just a blind guy who got lucky ...Okay ? happy now ?
Let's exclude anything he did so far from the musical records , the many duets he did , the composers who trusted him , the lyric writters , David Foster who made few concerts with him , the people who love him because his voice is great , let's go with your opinion , so you can finally shut up , move on and get on with your life .
As for my personal music taste apparently doesn't meet your "High standards" and no , i don't like Justin Bieber , i am more like jazz , RnB , Blues , Soul ,classic music and some rock ballads type of guy . The only thing i agree with you is that pop music sucks lately .
My son was a toddler during Italia ‘90 when this track was everywhere. As Pavarotti built to his crescendo he would start shouting “Lion!”
I saw him live, and i will NEVER forget that voice.
Lucky ones
I'd close my acct to hear him sing😭😭😭
SO glad that this was the performance selected. I and my parents were HUGE Pavarotti fans and I was fortunate to see him perform multiple times. This was an absolutely extraordinary human talent. In this performance and in this song, when I had the great privilege to actually meet him face to face in Hartford, CT, I wanted to know the answer to one question. “Mr. Pavarotti.” Looked right at me and said, “Please, Luciano.” “Luciano sir, I caught something in your expression at the close of the Nessun dorma at the Turandot performance that I have never seen before watching you. But I think I know what it was. I just wanted to know from you if I was right.” He shot back a HUGE perfect Pavarotti grin and said in that thick accent, “Do I really need to say the words? You my friend heard it too. I actually felt it very deeply and I was very proud. Like a child amazed at my victory. Thank you very much for asking. Did I answer it for you?” “Without question. Thank you Luciano.” I didn’t extend my hand because I knew about his issue with germs at the time. HE, extended his out to me to shake and that drew some serious looks, lol. That was a moment I will never forget. Just perfect.
If you are not clear on what it was I saw, take a look at the raw and genuinely intense look of almost astonishment on his face after the closing note of the performance of Nessun dorma. He absolutely knew that he nailed that performance with the most perfect dynamic intensity he had ever achieved performing it and as it came to a close the emotional tone in his eyes was SO instinctively rare for that guy because he could do that song seemingly perfect in his sleep. BUT, there was something in the air and my guess personally was that every other musician in the ensemble had absolutely NAILED every note and emotional intention perfectly. Being a man that would never be less than as perfect as his supporting ensemble, he was pressed to absolute perfection and pulled it off brilliantly. It obviousLy shocked him a bit, but he recognized clearly what he just did and confirmed it for me with his answer. It was obvious and he appreciated that it didn’t get past someone. Friggin awesome moment. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
This young lady is a pleasure to watch. She possesses a pure soul who appreciates greatness when she sees it.
Yes , and she is so beautiful !
I love to watch his face when he finishes. You can see he is asking himself did he do it, was it good? Then Yes! I nailed it!
No one seems to notice his face and his eyes right after the performance. You can literally see how much emotion he put in and how much it took out of him. A surely great performance.
I politely disagree with you - many of us DO see his expression at the end. It's hard to nail down its significance, but perhaps it evoked in him a memory of something in life that Puccini's words brought back to him.
We recently said goodbye to our best friend, a twelve and half year old Irish Wolf Hound, a big but gentle creature.
Pavarotti's enigmatic gaze just let all my inner sadness out.
Oh yes I did he had the voice of an Angel and this performance was vocal perfection but the look on Luciano's face when he concluded this performance it's hard to describe it's almost as if he could not believe it himself and the look set it all
Well, he is an actor, you know. This is how he performs the role. It’s the gig! 😎
Opera singers have told me that performance of Opera is a physically and (if your heart is in it) emotionally exhausting exercise. I believe them. Maybe that accounts for the look on his face.
I don't know how many times I've heard this and I still get chills listening to him sing this.
You're crying my love , because you can feel the music in your soul. It's in Italian but I'm British and I still end up in tears!
Stiff upper lip, old chap...
@ Steve Hug...❤🇮🇹🇬🇧
Possibly the greatest vocalist of all time. So much emotion in his voice.
You can tell she was overwhelmed by his performance.
And in a good way.
Anyone who listens to this will feel the exact same way, and be moved to tears at the same time.
The most beautiful voice of all times... it is just a master piece.
You know when you hear a master at work, is when you're clapping for him even decades after his death ..
No words can describe how good pavarotti was.
The Great Man could break your heart into a thousand pieces
I cry *every* time I watch this. Every time. So powerful.
Luciano Pavarotti was and still is the GOAT, in my opinion nobody thus far has the control, timbre, range and beautiful sounding voice like his. Thank you Luciano for touching our souls
The beauty of this performance brings tears to my eyes too. It is things like this that make life worth living.
MY PARENTS SAW HIM IN GOLDEN GATE PARK SAN FRANCISCO 20YRS AGO ... MY MOM WAS NEVER THE SAME!
How good was that?!!!?? Incredible. RIP Pavarotti, god bless you
no one could ever do as well as him,the great.
"None Shall Sleep Tonight" is the English translation to one of the most beautiful and emotional songs I have ever heard..."Nessun Dorma." And it was sung masterfully here by the late great Luciano Pavarotti. Great reaction to one of the worlds greatest opera 'Tenors' of all times.
There is some sort of magic that happens when the beautiful choir echos the song back to Pavarotti. It makes my soul swell.
I'm in my early 50s now we had this stunning piece of music as a sound track to the 1990 World Cup 'Italia 90' it was just epic as an English man.
We were simply swept along with not only the football but this piece of music.
Even now listening it takes me right back to that glorious summer.
RIP Luciano Pavarotti
RIP Bobby Robson
I am an Italian and I am proud of Luciano Pavarotti! long live Italy !!
You're in the death throes. You have ceded our homeland to the fucking globalist scumbags and third-world human debris. Shame on all of you.
Look at his reaction to the crowd.. its amazing
Thank you for playing this -- I am crying tears of joy and respect.
Thank you for not stopping it from an italian♥️
He was perfection! So is your smile, beautiful!
SIMPLY PROFOUND, POWERFUL, AND A SINGLE PIECE OF WORK DONE SO ... PAVAROTTI! A TRUE MASTER!
He makes me cry and smile at the same time. BEAUTIFUL!!!
RIP LP 💐 💐 2021
If this could be played in all the battle zones on the planet, we might have a breakout of peace.
I agree completely!
Thank you for sharing your authentic reaction here. Pavarotti really is one of the most beautiful voices to have visited the human experience. Puccini was an awesome composer.
A Master at his Masterful best, God given talent and now he sings for the ages up above!
He was the best that has ever been and will never be equaled
God rest his soul🙏🏻
He was truly one of the best there ever was or ever will be. RIP tenor
I'm 60 years old. I've watched and listened to Luciano Pavarotti sing this gob smacking piece for decades. I still feel the hair on my skin tingle and experience that awe-filled sigh in my chest every time. What a gift he was. I can so easily relate to this young woman's first experience of it.
It is great seeing her reaction, possibly discovering something she had never experienced before. As a whole, our society has become so uncultured and resistant to expanding our learning. I am a Latino man in my early 50s born and raised in East Los Angeles. I had the benefit of having both my parents in the home and, although they themselves never finished high school, they stressed learning and culture. My father, a lover of music, introduced me to Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Alfredo Krauss, Jose Carreras, and Enrico Caruso. This love of classical music inspired me to learn about other forms of music as well as Italian culture and history. This is turn led me to Roman architecture and then architecture in general, then engineering. Engineering led me to aeronautics and military aircraft, which led to military history. My mother was the same in teaching me to cook which led to many other areas of learning. They inspired me to be a Renaissance man, something we need to inculcate in our youth today. Congrats Ms. Taiwo on discovering the maestro Pavarotti. Looking forward to seeing more of your reaction videos.🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this. Pavarotti is for Italians a true iconic everlasting national monument. Somehow he manages to express to the entire world how we feel about art, and that is why we are so thankful he is part of our history. The present is used on purpose because Pavarotti will live forever.
You are talking about one of the mlst beautiful voices of all times. I suggest to see his performance in Torino 2006.
No matter how many times I hear his rendition, of Nessun Dorma, I get chicken skin, and my eyes well up, with tears. He's truly amazing. 🙏🏾 ❤️🙏🏾
You can see it in his face -you can read his mind: "Perfection! I´ve done it!!!"
How could you not be stunned by that performance!
This brought tears to my eyes 👀 and I don't understand one Syllable but I definitely felt and connected to the emotions of this song...wowwww
Simply a masterpiece, it touches your soul,
I've heard this a hundred times and it still gives me goosebumps
i first heard this song when i was 3 years old 49 years ago & Still LOVE IT!!! i still don't understand a single word!!!
Sweetheart you heard the greatest tenor in the world and I hope he’s singing with the angels in heaven
His voice and delivery brings tears to my eyes also...
This voice goes straight into your heart
It doesn't matter where you are from that is the most ICONIC moment in music and makes EVERYONE break down x
What I liked best about you, dear Lady, is that you made the effort to pronounce his name. This to me is sincere proof of respect.
That is magnificent. One of the great voices in opera. The great man, gone now from this World, but his repertoire lives on for us all to enjoy.
His voice was magnificent was it not? So powerful, yet it makes you so emotional.
It was a delight to watch you listening to it. I have that exact same reaction every single time I listen to him sing Nessun Dorma!
It is so beautiful to see how she sat quietly and allowed Luciano to touch her soul.
So powerful. Brings me to tears everytime
RIP Luciano , one of the great songs that will last forever,
As an Italian I can tell you that I got excited watching your reaction. I was lucky to be able to listen Pavarotti live and I can guarantee you that every time I had goose bumps. Nessun Dorma is one of the "aria" that move me the most with a deep feeling like the whole opera (Turandot). Another amazing Aria is "Che Gelida Manina" from La Bohème by Puccini.
I watched a baby in a high chair totally listen to PAVAROTTI sing Nessun Dora. To listen to this piece by him is just so beautiful.

Now back to the song 😁
His high pitch is insane and he makes it look so easy 🥰
Giving me music school vibes. Love it.
Babeeee, thank you 😘
Your reaction was everything. Music is the language that is transcendent and you have transcended as only humanity can. Great Reaction.
This is one of my favorite opera pieces thanks for reacting to it : ) I’ve heard this song plenty of times but everytime it bring chills and tear to my eyes it’s beautiful😁
Pavarottis face at the end is always like a punch to my heart 💖
In the final verse, he is ordering the stars to set, so that he can be victorious, the following dawn.
What a performance.
Salutes from Rome, Italy.
He has a beautiful voice and I could listen to him every day.
Great reaction. This clip is like a human soul spilling out all over an audience. The song is about the hero of the opera expressing his belief that he will win the love of the princess.
My Grandfather used to take my mom (her father ) to the opera in New York City when she was a little girl! She would tell me all about it !! Bravo! for Reaction!!
Look into his eyes at crescendo....he is a maestro....only the best can go where he went to at the end.....perfection
Hmmmm you've dug deep this time, Liddle Sister..... huge voice, one of the best! If not the Greatest. Pav
I love your reactions to all these various types of wonderful music! It’s beautiful to see your honest, heartfelt, and emotional reactions to the greatest musical artists. Thanks for sharing your joy with the world!
Where I used to work. My boss loved Pavarotti. I listened to Pavarotti every day 6 days a week for 12 years. Now I enjoy hearing him. What's more enjoyable is Watching people hear him for the first time. Like you. Just now. It's the same for most people. Totally Stunned. Wonderful isn't he.
Great Reaction. Good job
You just listened to a real legend. This song gives me chills every time I hear it. You can tell by the look on his face that the songs he sings, though written hundreds of years ago is a deeply emotional trip for this man. I'm glad you got to experience this song.
YES!! just what I needed to see today-- love from NYC--
He was an incredible opera singer. Great personality and person as well it seemed. One of the greatest of all time. Very nice review too.😀👍
You're listening to one of the truly GREAT voices for the ages, pretty lady...
Pavarotti was the best ever !!! This is by far my favorite aria....his version is PERFECTION
If you were to put his voice through a spectrum analyzer, you would discover that the fundamental note he is singing is sometimes actually not as vibrant as the second or third harmonic. He has an amazing ability to control and change the resonance of his entire vocal system.
The music is, indeed, beautiful and so are you, my dear.
My Dear, I loved to see your reaction to Luciano's voice. I feel pretty much the same when I hear him singing any of the many arias that he does. In my humble opinion, one of the best, if not THE best, tenors ever!
At the end he says "Vincero" which means "I will win" . I love your reaction, I am a big fan of opera and of course of the "Monster" grand maestro Pavarotti, you were so spontaneous and you watched the performance mesmerized as the most of the people do in opera performances
I'm not crying, your crying..
Lovely reaction and you let it play all the way through, well done !
I agree you have heard the greatest voice of all time!!
Please watch Aretha Franklin sing Nessun Dorma when she substituted for Pavarotti when he was ill. Mind. Blowing
The Great Maestro named LUCIANO PAVAROTTI had the ability of using his exceptional voice for touching the souls of the HUMANS who heard his arias...... and the ANGELS stopped in fascination just to listen to this miracle voice of a MAN.
