Viper ACR is a road going race car. It's fully rugged, EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable, unrefined, etc. It's a very unusable car, not to mention road illegal in it's fastest configuration. This AMG is still a comfortable and refined car. So in no way like a Viper ACR. This is a sophisticated car, Viper ACR is the complete opposite... it gets it's speed from just VERY wide and VERY sticky tires and lots of downforce. It's not a nice car to drive at all, it was built for lap time boasting and showing off. This AMG wasn't, this is still a proper drivers cars.
@@derbigpr500... closely check out everything that was amended to this GT-R & then look at all of the same things that Dodge did to amend the Viper... it's identical. Yeah, you can say Merc has done similar things to the SLS Black, but even that was made after the Daimler Chrysler divorce... so suffice to say, that Mopar has influence Merc in many ways. Yes, the Snake is crude in race trim... but what "real" raced out road car isn't? However again, check out the Viper in GTS trim & the parallel similarities show up in the AMG GT. Nevertheless, for that much extra coin, I should have just as much power output as the E63S that cost close to 1/2 the price at this point! Furthermore... even with the higher spec engine, that still wouldn't be able to match a Viper in any of it's trims, let alone a GT2-rs that it's supposed to be competing against!
When I see how Mercedes can bring such cars to challenge other legendary brands... I remember why I love the automotive industry (especially German one...haha). When this car came out to challenge the 911, everyone laughed so hard... But it worked... AMG GTR is now considered as the big daddy in this category. God I wish Mercedes uses their F1's technology with a mid rear engine supercar in the 300k range to kill other brands like Mclaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini... I mean they'll certainly beat everyone with the reliability of their cars, with performance too.
You wouldn't think a front-engine car would be so sensitive to the wheel vents as a rear-biased car like the 911. Interesting. I guess front end lift is never a good thing, right?
West Coast Supercars and Classics the engine is quite far back. If you look up pictures under the hood (that show the engine and not just the plastics), you can see how far back they pushed it, making it a front-mid engine design. They’ve also put the transmission in the back pushing weight even more over the rear axle.

Their is a reason aston martin use a merc v8 in their vantage! Its tuff fun reliable and fast! Its a no brainer really!!
great video Henry, the car is a great package also, 7% stiffer is allot, $40k more, get what you pay fore still over 1600kg, thats the part that stings and this car has lots of carbon fibre bits already,I just thought it would have lost 100kgs in weight with the increase in price
$40K was not only just for light weights saving and obviously not for the power 😂 the driving dynamics (mechanical downforce and new traction control) is improved too. Or you can just wait for GT black Series then.
well mom, are you gonna pay for the price diff for me, am tapped out at the 40 k and its still too heavy , an ok car and certainly no no 911 GT3 RS,lol@@27_syndicateshquad78
I'm a bit peeved that they didnt upgrade the engine even a little. You'd think it would have more capacity to put down that extra power, with all the aero upgrades.
Then again, I can't afford this and I likely never will, so what's the bother 😆
Can mercedes build something mid enginey?
Excellent
Yeah
Next up: AMG GT R Pro - Plus - Track Edition 1 . For only 70k € you will get few new LED lights, 3mm of extra carbon on spoiler and a little logo on the back. But don’t think that you got the best version of AMG GT... coz’ there is a facelift coming every 3 months so.....
Great quality video but the car is a cynical profiteering move. It’s no GT3 RS and no challenge to the Pista or even 600LT.
Well there you have it folks Stubones has spoken
Dont agree
No way you’d get this over a Gt3Rs although it’s an amazing car
Is this hockenhiem?
Would be perfect if the price can be adjusted like the arb and loan interest be like the coil-overs😁😁😁...lower is better!!
4:27 is that Vettel's favourite corner?
Hilarious
"Stay wide around this corner" is the last thing Vettel would want to hear.
this guy is wolverine
0:50 You get floating calipers on a car like this??
🤔 Does anyone think they will do an AMG GTR Black Series?😍🤤
Driven Garage it's confirmed they are. Will be "competitive" with the GT2RS and 720S.
@@MotownModels any links or postings ? I know last fall everyone was thinking this amg gtr pro being tested was a black series but I havent found anything recent :(
the AMG GT Black Series will be at GT3 RS performance range not GT2 RS or 720S. the engine might be just over 630hp. With the same chasis platform as this one, i doubt it will be as fast as GT2 RS. Go check Misha Charoudin channel to see GT Black Series test run on Nordschleife
Now just imagine what the Black Series will be like! 😍
Hmm... considering the history, I'd say this is Merc's Viper ACR... but for an extra $40k, no ECU tune to the E63S spec??
Street legal!!!!!!!!!!! Dreamy thing
Nice machine ♥️
The Best
New watch? Looks like a compressor. Where is the Omega Speedmaster? :)
Seems to me a Bremont U-2/51-Jet.
@@howard74517 Well, good choice. Definetely something you can knock around a fast speed car more than a speedmaster.
Should have been a 600bhp+ Black Series
We should see how good this car can stand up to 600 LT that sharp turn should of came down at 280 KPH
This version should've been manual
You wouldn't think a front-engine car would be so sensitive to the wheel vents as a rear-biased car like the 911. Interesting. I guess front end lift is never a good thing, right?
West Coast Supercars and Classics this still has a rear biased weight distribution, but yeah front end lift is never good.
Alan Bowers I see. How in hell did they manage to do that? 😎
West Coast Supercars and Classics the engine is quite far back. If you look up pictures under the hood (that show the engine and not just the plastics), you can see how far back they pushed it, making it a front-mid engine design. They’ve also put the transmission in the back pushing weight even more over the rear axle.
This car should've been released with a n/a V12! Rework the Zonda engine.
