Airbending can be pretty gnarly. If you remember how they found Aang's old master, surrounded by dozens of corpses. I believe he removed the oxygen from the room and suffocated them all.
Airbenders could technically use that technique to make firebending impossible but i guess it would be too strong of a counter to make that a thing in the show.

Azula is the perfect villain. She's smart, she's resourceful, she's evil, she's completely is committed to her tasks, she's merciless, she's extremely talented and powerful, and she's always two steps ahead of everyone else. When you love to hate a villain, it's a good villain.

Azula is only crazy because she was a bending prodigy and so her dad had a use for her. If Zuko had shown as much skill as her from a young age, he would have been driven crazy too. Or maybe not, as both his mum and Iroh favoured him over Azula. Poor girl literally got left alone with her dad and his insane narcissism.

To be fair to Ursa and Iroh, both were shown to go out of their way to be kind to Azula and try to be a positive influence on her. (Note that Azula was also very adept at putting on a front in her mother's presence; meaning not only was she calculating and duplicitous even as a young child, but also that Ursa may not have been aware just how deranged she was.) And we saw that Iroh sent back thoughtful gifts to both Zuko and Azula from his seige of Ba Sing Se. It isn't Ursa and Iroh's fault that Azula exhibited sociopathic tendencies and was a firebending prodigy from such a young age, both of which were seized upon by Ozai for his own sick, megalomaniacal purposes. And they also were in no position to object if Ozai was determined to "dote" on his daughter.

Underrated moment imo is when Zuko has the prime opportunity to capture Aang or even keep him there long enough for iroh to be healed and then capture Aang, but in his anger and grief doesn’t care anymore and just wants to be left alone with his uncle.

I love this episode, it seems like one day the devs woke up and say: "hey let's make an episode were the team roast each other, it will be fun"...and it was 😂 9:49-11:08 the best of this episode 🥲
The reason each episode feels long is because most of the time each one is its own contained story while still being a cohesive serialized story. The amount of time we get with each character, the music, fighting, culture and honestly the writing and art most of all, make the episodes great individual stories.
Its believed that monk kyatso killed that room full of firebenders by turning the room into a vacuum and removing all the oxygen so they could not bend. (No oxygen, no flames) but in the process they all suffocated and died together. He knew he would die, bit it was to protect all the children at the temple.
And that moment Zuko could not hear anything anyone was saying, the only thing he could hear, was every single negative thing his father has said to him what others have said about him. He also felt like he failed his Uncle by not being able to protect him.
Could airbenders make a fire bender combust? No, but if this was more violent like you said and Airbender could just pull the air right out of someone's lungs. No oxygen, no fire

Yeah disregarding the whole avatar thing I think an Airbender is actually Tylee's perfect counter if you consider the fact that all of Aang's techniques revolve around close combat evasion. She would never be able to touch him
But Aangs a softie and Tylee is REALLY nice, so Tylee would win, just from the fact that she would be charming and Aang would let her close and then she would Chi block him 🤷🏼

Sorry but these comments about Azula like "she's annoying" "i want to punch her" kinda turn me off. You don't need to like her but you can ENJOY her character as a villain, you know? And that will make your experience watching the show more enjoyable too. Like, i'm just fascinating with Azula as I watch the show
If they are hating one of the main villains then i think it just shows that the writing is great enough for them to actually feel hate towards a fictional character.

I don't think that's on the female reactors.... Azula's a psycho bitch... I don't think that there's anyone who doesn't hate her. She's perfectly made for being hated after all. She is arrogant, got lucky being a prodigy, wields her noble status around like a hippo marking its territory, is cruel, uncaring and has not a sliver of empathy, and can't even accept defeat graciously. She's literally the worst. Yes she might have been the product of her upbringing, probabbly being a daddies girl from the very begining, but even that bit of sympathy will only carry a character so far that they might be allowed to try and redeem themselves.... but with Azula I doubt that she would even try, except maybe as a trick.

@@creativeuserneim I haven’t watched Imon’s, but the point stands that if these two don’t like Azula but also don’t like Ozai it refuted the point you made. I’m male and didn’t like Azula either, likely because as I’ve gotten older characters having cool designs and abilities but being shitty people without cause are much less appealing.
