I've been following this game since the start and I'm trying to curb my expectations. I made it a monolith in my head and need to be prepared for whatever it is. I trust heart machine and think that I love it no matter if it meets the picture in my head or not.
this game honestly look REALLY refreshing. honestly ever sense i played risk of rain 2 as my first rogue like i probably accidentally developed a very high standered for multiplayer in roguelikes and i havent been able to find anything in paticular that is as good as the multiplayer in ror2. so seeing this game gives me hope for multiplayer. and even then without the multiplayer aspect the game looks PRETTY good either way so im hyped
I have to recommend you play Drifter at some point! It's not a very long game and while it's very tough in some places it's not overly punishing in my opinion. Definitely name sure you play with a controller though, it is in my experience the best way to play the game.
I'm a bit sad when I hear that heart machine (the studio) is at risk of shutting down had to resort to asking for donations due to financial mismanagement. This will likely become their last project ever so I'm watching it with great interest
i'm honestly super conflicted about this one... hyper light drifter is probably my favourite game of all time (solar ash is also absolutely in my top 15 even though i seem to be the only person alive who views it so positively) and i've been looking forward to this game's release for years now, but my experience with Online Games(TM) has never been all that positive, not in game design or the whole online multiplayer experience part of it. it's also just kind of inherently weird to look at this game with the mental association between it and HLD because it's clearly going to be NOTHING like that as a gaming experience so there's some dissonance there. idk maybe i'm just super jaded and starting to sound like those middle-aged guys who constantly complain about every single metal band "selling out" as soon as they use clean vocals... i'm sure i won't be able to try this game for a long while anyway because this would absolutely fry my poor laptop.
I want to be excited for this, everything about it looks amazing. But the layoffs at Heart Machine and their sudden decision to try and launch a patreon really makes me worried that whatever they release is just whatever they could get done before their resources ran out. I really hope that's not the case.
@@baronbacku9984 As several people have been asking HM this question for months and they don't seem keen on giving an answer at all, I wouldn't expect regional pricing. My Canadian wallet is going to be unhappy tomorrow lol
Considering the game was delayed for like 3 years, i really wouldn't count on them getting a smooth early 2026 1.0 launch. Between fighting off the SBI involvement allegations, Gearbox fking everything up (again) for the devs and then the layoffs that came out recently, there's just so much unexpected nonsense going on over at Heart Machine and I'll be surprised if the game is even *decent* at EA launch. Although, this is my most anticipated game of all time considering i waited almost 4 years for it to drop, so I'm still gonna try to be optimistic about it. Anyway, it comes out in less than 4 days now, so we'll see very soon if those 3 years of delays were justified or not.
3:50 What's the character doing here? Just up and away randomly? 😃 EDIT: Will the co-op be up to 3 players? ER Nightreign went that route also. Interesting.
Lets see. If it is good at full release i will play it. Every time i hear of it i find it funny that the makers of hyper light drifters chose this way for their next game. It apears much more "main streamy" to me with beeing a roguelike and the gliders and 3d grafics. But i also have the feeling that there is true integredy in their work its just funny to me 🙂
I dislike this. Sure it still has that apocalyptic and overgrown futuristic type going on but it's just not the same in 3D form since 2D has this unique charm to it that's hard to replicate in 3D, especially that they almost completely abandoned the pixel style, though I do get that 2D can be limiting so that's why they most likely went this route. A lot of games have been plagued with this where they attempt (Or not) to "stylize" a game to give it a distinct look and vibe but it still ends up looking like an another 3D game - a generic environment with essentially just themed assets instead of actually having an overall cohesive and memorable style that pulls it all together. The environments and the ambience I have seen so far just reminds me of slime rancher and risk of rain and the charm is completely gone that pulled me into the original game to begin with but like many have said we probably have built this crazy monolith in our head of what it should be.

MONOLITH!?!?!
The space skating game they made was very dissapointing the game is called Solar Ash so thats probably good idea to do that game was 3D combat game
I thought solar ash was good
@@bearofthewest389 solar ash was great it just wasn't like drifter
I expect peak, that’s what I expect
I'm hyper excited for this, even though i suck at roguelikes
looks like a awesome game

So stoked for this release! I didn’t play the first Hyper Light game but I am beyond excited to jump into this one 💜

i was skeptical when they first showed it off but the recent gameplay trailers look pretty sick. willing to give it a chance for sure.
Combat looks fun but my concern is about the world/level generator. I am not interested in running around in an empty world.
"blade specials to give you a bit more edge" nice 😁
Please don't encourage @nocapsbb, it's already out of control! 🤣

Should've mentioned that the game is only co-op optional, not required. But definitely a much different vibe
You should wishlist VA Proxy, it has a lot of similarities to HLD.

wow somehow i missed the news about the layoffs... that sucks
Love the art style but bit underwhelmed we will see tho
i hope the prices are localised fr
$30 January 14-28th,
with hyper light drifter as a bundle bonus.
@ATLDASH i know, thanks. i just meant the prices getting regionally adjusted (as other game studios often do)

I have a question.
Are Tim and Lapis siblings?

Interesting.
Yes, three

yeah, i trust Heart Machine enough to still be excited even though it's pretty different from HLD :)
Hopefully they have the same music composer who did HLD
doesn't seem like it, but there is an in-depth post on the game's steam page that goes over their approach to making music
Where is the thumnail art from?
The game's steam post called "Meet Dro"
@@nocapsbb Thanks!
Great video, I haven't seen it listed anywhere. Do we know if they are going to do cross play?
not sure what they've said about other platforms at this point
they said they'll do crossplay when it comes to consoles, but that it'll take a while

From imitating zelda to making a clone of risk of rain 2. I'll pass.
