Nice! I have an 06 Dakota with the same motor that I just bought. The air filter and oil were both filthy, so I was thinking I should probably change the diff oil pretty soon too. Thanks for the vid!
Well if the cover isn't leaking and you can get all the old fluid out with a pump, then that's probably fine too 👍. You might not get all of it out thou, and any debris will be at the very bottom. But like in my case the cover had started to seep a little so it was beneficial to just pull it and replace the seal 👍. Thank you for asking ☺️
I don’t have reverse or drive in my 99 Dakota 2WD auto. Takes 1 mile of driving, then nothing works. Just sits there. No noise. Could this be a gear issue after transmission or transmission only problem?
I was fully expecting you to use the small ratchet as a torque wrench and say click when you got it tight enough. Sometimes I forget not everyone treats their cars like I do.
this is super helpful. it's hard to find many videos on the dakota between 2005-2011
Very happy to help...more on the way 🤙

Nice video, I've had many Dakotas over the years and changed many diff fluids, it's a better experience when you drop and remove the spare tire.
Didn't even think about doing that haha, thanks for the tip 🤙
I gotta change my diff oil soon too. I already have most of the tools. Just need an underwear rag and im ready to go
Made my day! 😂
Would you say there's any real reason why someone wouldn't want to just pump the old fluid out? Rather than removing the cover?

Great Video. Could you do the same video for the 2004 dodge Ram 5.9 Cummins please. Thank you.
If it comes up for service, I'd love too...if you want, I can get you the fluid capacity for that truck? 🤙
That'd be great! Mine is a 2wd. Any service you do to a dodge ram 5.9 cummins I'd love to watch. It helps alot! Keep up the good work!
Here ya go, I got you all the capacities...and put it on my Google Drive. drive.google.com/file/d/1H8HjQtQ16eo2X87zSneOBsuBphQib_0K/view?usp=drivesdk

Check if your driveshaft is actually spinning while in gear that would tell you, my guess, transmission issue
@@Snipeoff It was pressure sensor or the shifter solenoid cuz I replaced them both
@@tytraulich4987 awesome! Glad to hear it's fixed

Just saw this 😂😂😂, I can't stop laughing...I might do that next time 😅
